Dean peaked over at Jack in his peripherals “You can slow down, you know. That stuff’s not gonna disappear.”
It may have been the first time you had smiled - a real smile - since his death. You weren't sure that you were even capable of smiling without the light of your life.
Maybe it was due to his innocence or the likeness of Castiel but it was familiar to you and you were not going to dampen the mood even more.
Sam rolled his eyes at his brother as he berated the Nephilim. “Ever seen you eat, Dean?”
“Yeah, Dean. You gobble everything down like nobody's business.” You smirked sassily at him as you took a bite out of your own burger, only half of it gone. “You eat like an animal.”
The older Winchester snarls at you before flipping you off, leaning forward he grabs and opens a bottle of beer only for Jack to imitate him.
Your eyes widen as Jack reaches for the beer. The young child in the teenagers body making you hide a smile behind your hand.
“Wait, wait, wait, wait. How old do you think you are?” Dean asked once he swallowed his large bite he took of his burger, the hand not holding the beer bottle shot out in front of the nephilim.
Looking up through squinted eyes, hardly any hesitation in his voice, Jack answered, “3 days, 17 hours, and 42 minutes.”
Your lips pressed together, suppressing another smile, shrugging you said, “well, he’s not wrong.”
Neither of the boys seemed to have a problem with it, opting not to say anything or objecting to Jack having a sip of beer but it wasn't surprising since he was Lucifer’s son and he was supposed to be less than a day old.
Dean drinks his beer once more and Jack copies him again, taking a sip of the beer.
You admitted that the naïvity and childlike behaviour of the half human half angel reminded you of Castiel, the angel you loved and missed dearly. It wasn't like he was gone for more than a few months but it still felt like a knife was being plunged into your stomach and your heart, twisted until bile rose in your throat and you couldn't eat anymore, couldn't drink anything either.
Excusing yourself from the coffee table, you made your way to the bathroom, you began to hyperventilate but you couldn't let the Winchesters or Jack see you in the state that you were in so the door was locked and you hid yourself in there until you hurt a knock at the door.
“Y/N? Are you okay?” You heard a soft voice on the other side of the door but never saw the dimple in between his brows or the hand he had on the door
“Yeah, Jack. I’m okay, honey.” You tried to sound normal, evening your breaths, wiping the tears away from your face. “I’ll be right out.”
You promised, hearing Jack’s footsteps echo down the hall and into the main room of the hotel but five minutes later you still hadn’t come out of that room, unable to keep the fresh tears at bay.
You heard the clinking of metal but by the time you looked up it was too late to ask what was going on. Dean had picked the crap lock and made his way into the bathroom.
Dean grabbed your hand, pulling you up and into a tight embrace, he never said anything but then again he didn’t need to, he was going through the same thing. You lost someone you loved and he lost his best friend. You both loved and both lost, there was no happiness when death came.
(This series is based on what I think Jack is like and would be like so far. I had already completed this series based on what I’ve seen from the first episode of Supernatural Season 13, therefore please forgive me if he turns out to be out of character.)

It was pretty late when you got your laundry done, but you weren’t about to complain. Jack had gone to bed and you finally had some normalcy back. Having Jack around was exhausting, much more than having a little baby waking you up every hour. You crawled into to bed and immediately knocked out.
Hours later, movement came from beside you. You woke up to see Jack crawling in. You groaned inwardly wandering what the hell he was doing here in your room, getting into your bed?
“Jack, what’s wrong?” You yawned.
“I’m scared,” he replied.
“What? Why?” You instinctively moved over to give him some space. He slithered in making himself comfortable.
“I had a bad dream. You got hurt,” he confessed, sadness evident on his face.
“It’s okay Jack. It was a nightmare. It’s not real,” you assured him, taking a hold of one of his hands in yours. Jack stared at the physical connection thinking about how soft and warm it felt. He liked it.
“I feel safe here,” he admitted.
“Good, because you are.” You gave him a sweet smile.
“You look really pretty like that.”
“Like what?”
“Smiling.”
“Thank you Jack. Now let’s go to sleep, okay?” He nodded at your request. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight Y/N.”
You turned on your side, facing away from him when you suddenly felt his arms wrap themselves around you, your back pressed up against his chest as his breath fanned the back of your neck. It was impossible for you not to smile.
Jack may be an idiot, but he was cute none the less.
Bonus <--Just a bonus chapter because I wanted to :)

Nononono. Let go. Let me go, please, PLEASE!
Stop holding me, let me go, let me go.
A wail escaped his throat. The words didn't, of course, but the pained cry did. Which earned a chuckle from somebody.
He flinched heavily. Trying to open his eyes before just sagging into the person that had picked him up.
"Fuck. He's sick." The one trying to pick him up grumbled.
"Sick..?"
"Look at him, Lara. Of course, he's sick."
"Oh. Do you know what it is... or- or how bad?" Her voice dropped to a whisper.
"No. I don't know Lara." He sighed heavily. "Call Kye, I'll need him to pick us up. I am not carrying him all the way home."
"Ok... thank you."
"Mhm." The male picked him up and slung him over his shoulder. Walking away with him. Jack felt utterly useless. Just clinging to him, unable to open his eyes or mouth. "There you go. Hold on to me. Ya, you're pretty sick. Don't worry kid, we'll get some medicine in you pretty soon."
He let a weak whine escape his mouth while nodding, making his head real. He shuddered quietly, drifting off again.
----
When he came too again, he was in a bed. He recognized the softness of the blankets. The way his body sunk into it, unlike a floor which had no cushion to protect from the harshness of it.
"N-no..." He weakly managed. Trying his best to sit up, however, he distantly realized there was a mountain of blankets on him, too weak to push them off, pinning him down. "N-n-no. Please, no, no I'll be be g-good. Pl-please!"
His eyes managed open, frowning weakly, he was not back home. He was in a dark room he didn't recognize. His eyes watered and he sunk back down while crying.
Lara stared at him quietly before running off. "Kye! Kye he's awake."
"Finally. Geez. How's his fever?" He got up from the couch.
"Um... I don't know?"
He let out a soft sigh, barely there, but incredibly detectable to her. "Ok... were you scared to touch him?"
She nodded a little.
"That's ok. Hey. Deep breath. 1-2-3... and out-2-3. There you go." He went to his room and grabbed some medicine before heading in, turning on a lamp in the corner of the room. "Well, good evening."
Jack looked at him while shaking like a leaf.
"Awh, poor fella. Don't worry, we ain't gonna hurt you here. I just am gonna give you some medicine. We think you got hypothermia. And you've had a fever for a few days. Who knows what else but eh." He shrugged easily, setting everything down on the nightstand.
Jack tried desperately to follow, trying to remember what hypothermia even was. Something about being cold... or starving. Something.
Speaking of starving...
Kye sat on the bed next to him, moving his hand to his head. He really didn't have too. Jack's hair was sticking to his head from sweat, but still, he wanted to check how hot he was and shoving a thermometer in his mouth wasn't an option he had available right now. "Mmm."
Jack shivered weakly. Kye's touch was cold and steady. And Jack found himself leaning into it.
"Ok, I'm gonna uncover you. You're burning up."
As Kye pulled the blankets off, Jack whined weakly. "Pl-please d-do... don't-"
"Oh, sweetheart, I'm not gonna hurt you." He chuckled. "I just need you to take this medicine ok?" He was pouring some white liquid into a bottle cap. Chuckling at the face Jack made. "I need you to drink all of it, mkay? I know, I know." He helped him sit up before pushing the cap into his hand.
Jack shakily brought it up to his mouth. Squeezing his eyes shut while taking an exploratory sip. Pausing at the flavor, eyes fluttering open to stare at it.
"Grape." Kye offered. "It's grape flavored."
Jack glanced at him before drinking it, lightly licking what was at the bottom. It tasted like some form of candy. "Ok, one more. This one ain't gonna taste as good, but I know you can be good for me and drink it, right?"
Jack glanced up. "O-ok... ok."
"Good boy." Kye gave him another bottle cap.
He couldn't help the way his heart swelled from the praise. Leaning into the arm and holding him up while drinking it. He made a face but didn't dare complain. This medicine burned his throat a little going down. It smelled just as bad as it tasted.
"There you go." Kye looked up at Lara, she was staring at them from the door. "Laurie come in. It's ok. He won't bite." He chuckled.
She nodded while going over. Jack mumbled weakly while his head sagged. "Is he... is he..."
"No he's not dying. He'll be ok." He chuckled. "He is burning up though. Trying to cool him down by having him under the fan."
She nodded, though it was unsure. "Should I... what should I?"
"Just stay with him. When he wakes up again, I'll need you to come get me... or Ethan."
She nodded, brightening a bit. "I can do that!"
He smiled easily. "Sure you can." He looked down at Jack who was already falling asleep again. "Hm. Poor thing. I wonder who just left him outside the restaurant. I mean, if you're gonna do... that to him, at least give him a room after."
She nodded while sitting down, watching Kye gently lay him down. Pulling the blanket up and over him again, only one this time. "If he starts shaking, I'll need you to cover him up some more. Do you think you can do that, Lara?"
She took a breath before nodding. "Ya..."
"We don't want him getting sick again."
Another breath. "Yes. I can."
"Good girl. Knew I could count on you." He smiled. "I'll need to get him some food when he's up again. Would have this time if he hadn't passed out again so soon."
"What will we get him?"
"Well, he hasn't eaten in several days. But he can't have a massive calorie intake. I made that mistake once, and I'm not making it again... probably a piece of bread to start and then later we can get him some soup. It'll help his throat, though then again, he may throw it up." He pursed his lips. "Hm."
He shook his head. "Ah we'll figure it out. You sure you can watch him Lara?"
"Mhm!" She smiled shyly.
"There you go. Good girl." He gently brushed her hair before leaving.
She relaxed back into the rocking chair she had pulled next to the bed, watching him before going back to reading her book: How To Help Rescues.

Think about all the little boys and girls in the audience, watching their favorite characters come alive. A/N – Title was thankfully given by @misticty – my bestie; I love you and thank you! - ‘To play on the fallen angel thing but also shows why jack is alone in most of the images’
Your heart rate accelerated as Castiel had stormed past you to deal with Lucifer but you didn’t have time to dwell on it as the taller Winchester had to drag both you and Dean from stopping Cas. There wasn’t much you could do with the Winchesters as you jumped through the rift of space and time, waiting for Cas to return.
Tears were starting to form in your eyes as the time ticked on, your angel was in there for a long time. Cas stepped through the portal, smiling at you as you locked eyes with him. You breathed a sigh of relief, running towards him. Your happiness only lasted a millisecond before another flash came from the rift.
Cas’ eyes flashed as well as the place he had been stabbed in the chest, a sure sign that his grace was leaving the vessel he used.
‘NO!’ ‘CAS!’ Both you and Dean had said at the same time.
Your heart had leapt into your throat, you couldn’t breathe as Lucifer appeared with a smirk on his face, clearly happy with what he had done.
‘Well that was fun.’ He shrugged excitedly. ‘seriously guys. Points for trying super impressed but, uh, play time’s over.’
You all stood there in shock, Lucifer had just killed your angelic boyfriend, Dean’s best friend and Sam’s friend.
Boots were crunching and you heard her before you saw her. ‘Get away from them.’ You realised that her presence meant the death of Kelly Kline and the birth of the Nephilim; Jack.
Mary swagger past you and the boys with confidence, you knew in that moment that she would do anything to protect you and her boys.
‘Mary, right?’ Lucifer pointed at said woman. ‘Yeah, I’ve heard about you. You are certainly living up to the hype.’ He purred.
Lucifer continued to provoke the woman but Mary didn’t care. Her hands were tossed behind her back and then you saw it, the shine of the brass knuckle dusters that she must have retained from the British Men of Letters, she made a fist and they started to glow.
‘I owe you, kid.’ He indicated Mary with his finger.
You could feel the snarl that the Winchester matriarch was wearing, she stepped forward only to be stopped by Sam but she wasn’t having any of it. Her mind was set and she wanted to get rid of the devil once and for all; you couldn’t blame her either.
She turned her head to Sam, then Dean, and then even to you. ‘I love you.’
Strutting toward the devil, she pulled back her arm and collided her fist to his jaw, slightly knocking him back.
‘Cute but is that all you got mama.’
Mary’s teeth were bared as she repeatedly punched Lucifer in the face but when he felt the power the tear of space and time, his cunning, conniving brain set in and pulled at Mary’s coat, dragging her through the ripped seam. Once Mary and Lucifer had fallen through and disappeared, the seam sealed itself closed.
‘Mom! Mom!’ Dean’s voice sounded but you were still focused on the fallen body of Castiel.
Sam had looked over his shoulder and saw the orange light of the window Kelly had been in, the Nephilim had came to be and you didn’t know whether he had taken after his biological father.
You dropped to your knees to Cas’ side, a waterfall of tears pouring from your eyes, as you thought of the loss, you couldn’t lose him, you wouldn’t know how to live without him.
But now you may have to find out.
‘Cas? Baby, please, open your eyes.’
When he doesn’t respond, you can’t help the sob that escapes you. As time ticks on, you know that it is becoming more and more real. Your losing him. You’re losing Cas. Maybe it’s too late and he’s.
You can’t even bring yourself to say it, you refuse to say it because you can’t take anymore heartbreak in your life. You have already suffered enough in this hunting business to last anyone a lifetime, you wouldn’t wish it upon anyone else; not even your worst enemy.
Castiel’s body is void of any motion. Your fingers trailed over his face that was slowly losing its colour, his body losing its heat.
‘You can’t go like this Cas.’ Swallowing thickly, your voice cracked as you struggled to continue talking to your fading angel. ‘You can’t leave me, you put up with me when I was a pain in the ass, you’ve saved me, Castiel and I can’t lose you. Not now, not after everything you have done for me.’
Dean had slowly dropped to one knee then the other, all air had been knocked out of him and he spoke no words, he didn’t have to you knew exactly what he was feeling.
Cupping Castiel’s face in your hand, your threaded your fingers through the short strands of his hair. ‘Come on Cas.’ You choked as his name escaped. The tears that were falling, hit Castiel’s forehead. ‘You can’t just leave me here, I need you to come back, come back to me dammit. It’s too scary without you.’
‘He’s gone, Y/N.’
Dean had uttered three words- albeit in a broken voice, and they had the power to break your heart. His words only confirmed all the thoughts that had been flowing through your mind, you didn’t want it to be true but there was all the evidence, laid in front of you, in the form of Castiel, your angel.
Your heart began to race at the thought of never seeing Castiel’s piercing blue eyes again. If he was dead, you would never get to explain the simple things to him, you wouldn’t hear him speak and try to teach you Enocian any more; you would never be wrapped in his embrace after he saved you, after he protected you. He would never be able to do any of that again.
‘No!’ The stage of denial still coursed through you, you still couldn’t believe it, you didn’t want to believe it but how could you not when all the signs pointed to the fact that he was dead.
‘Y/N.’ Dean tried, he was tired, exhausted, he didn’t want to believe that his best friend had died either but there was no other explanation.
The tears wouldn’t stop falling from your eyes, you had lost the love of your life, someone who actually gave it meaning, you couldn’t stop the shout that left your lips. ‘No, Dean, he’s not fucking dead! He can’t fucking die! No.’
Dean had licked his split and bloodied lips and his eyes glassed over with unshed tears, the force of his best friend’s death weighing on his heart - just as much as yours, but you hadn’t thought about him.
The life you had with Cas flashing behind your closed eyelids; all the soft kisses, the longing stares, the touches shared. All of it, you would never see it again. Your head dropped to the crook of his neck, quietly sobbing until you couldn’t any more.
‘It’s time to go, Y/N. Jack’s still in there.’ Dean’s voice had cracked.
The mention of Kelly’s baby boy’s name sent something rolling through you. It was Kelly’s voice.
‘When I give birth, when I die,’ she painted a smile on her face, the pain of the contractions the Nephilim was causing her face to contort as she did so. She shared a look between you and Castiel. ‘I need you both to look after him. Need you to protect my baby boy, love him like a mother and a father because he wouldn’t have any if the two didn’t take him in.
‘I know it’s a lot to ask of the both of you but please he needs someone to protect him. He can’t go into this world alone, unprotected. Jack needs a mother and a father and I need you to promise me that the two of you will be that for him.’
Leaning back on your haunches, you pulled your bottom lip between your teeth, tearing your eyes away from Cas, you did nothing but stare blankly at the older Winchester.
There was a beat of silence between the two of you, no words, no crying, no sounds. Just the feeling of responsibility rushing through you in waves. You had to respect Kelly’s last wishes and take care of Jack, no matter how dangerous he could have been.
The wind - or Cas’ lingering grace - coaxing you to toward the house in search of the Nephilim.
