in case anybody wondered if jack was still alive
*/ @thexcarrollxtimes (jack), the party.
she wasn't going to leave the party over an accident, at least that's what she'd have told anyone who asked. she was notoriously a short texter, unwilling or unable to keep a conversation going through the messages jack sent her from time to time. it was enough to know that he would be at the party, and she would find him eventually. she hadn't expected to be searching him out so early, but that was the evening.
steps away on the lanai, she found him sitting, taking a break— she assumed. she sat next to him, on the lounger, the the music a dull hum this far away. "i thought you would be dancing, with your boyfriend."
"cas told me all about how bees are so important to the world, dean so look, i made bees!" says jack, pointing to the bunker full of bees.
(it made me laugh to imagine lmao)
christ almighty! there's something ya don't see every damn day. FOR GOOD FUCKIN' REASON! standing atop the stairs staring down at a bunker full of freaking BEES--the hunter palms over his mouth and tells himself on a repeat message in his brain. he means well, he means well, he means well--but well SHIT that's a mess???? fingers bury into sandy locks as he scratches his head and forces out a little flustered and shocked laugh.
"uh.. yeah. they are. but--they're important outside. where they can go from flower to flower and shit honey. or whatever. do bee things! there a way you can get 'em out there? where they'd be happy? i'm just--m'gonna wait in the car." cause be damned if he's getting swarmed by a buncha big bootied bugs with tiny, venomy knives on their asses!
With all due respect to CS Lewis, who is one of my favorite writers, and with all due respect to his intentions for the character of Suzan, which are valid, and whatnot, the effects, okay, the effects of his decision on the children who were reading his series were poorly thought through. You can't just say, "oh by the way, 7 year old, one of your favorite characters while offscreen, in the last few pages, became an apostate who never got to see heaven" without so much as a footnote to explain why that may not actually be canon
@cardigaen — ‘ want me to stay? ’
" yes. " jack didn't want to force her into staying but he really wanted her there. " but i always want you to stay so ... " smile pulled at the corners of his mouth, " but i know your busy — i don't wanna keep you. "
quick, kiss me before they walk over here. // jack x geovany
if anyone would walk in right now they would see pretty much exactly what is happening, jack with his back to the table, one of his hand on geovany's waist and the other cupping his face, his right leg in the middle of geovany's which were just about to give in moments ago when he pulled that trick. and anyone could see this was a backstage room in a huge auditorium filled with people to the brim both to watch the men jack was smooching faces with and to keep everything ready for that to happen. there were staff all over the place ever since jack got here about an hour ago and since then he has been trying to stay out of the way and hoping to merge into the walls, he wore a staff badge in his neck and everything which led some to order him to carry some stuff around that he obliged to. he found out it was better to be treated like he belonged, when the guy that was doing the same job he was ordered to offered him some water and talked about how little he knew of the guys who were performing tonight. jack wanted to laugh, this guy wouldn't believe what he was actually there to do and who he was hoping to see, but he went along with it just fine by saying whatever keeps the money coming which the other agreed and then just went on to another task. when he was here before some years ago with a different purpose it didn't feel like that at all, he was a sore thumb, sticking out, uncomfortable, completely misplaces and definitely confused but trying hard to make it seem like he understand his world and what he was about to to. some things change... for the better, he guesses.
after going around rooms as if he had some reason to be there — like he said before, as if he belonged — he finally found geovany as he was making his way out of the bathroom. he didn't greet him or say anything, just pretended as if he was taking the artist somewhere he was needed for something and the covered worked like a charm. well, geovany asked him there and gave someone the order to get him in but it wasn't noble or even interesting for anyone to know more than that. it had been six months since they met, two since things started becoming something else, one since he admitted his feelings, three weeks since they first kissed and two without seeing each other due to sensure's packed schedule. acknowledging the fact of what dating an idol is it's not something jack ever thought he would be doing but it's what it came to be and he can't complain of what hasn't even began because he somewhat understands like nobody else would. he questioned himself quite a lot these last few days thinking that maybe it was all in his head or what couldn't be real this mind-blowing fragments of joy inside his heart but geovany's child-like smile being directed at him washed away this anxiety. it didn't matter what it took him to get here, he was just glad he was. they kissed for some minutes, way too short ones at that, just to make up for lost time and each one was better than the last, sweeter than anything he ever had before, worthier than any time he ever spent, crazier than all of the feelings he ever felt and stupider than he ever was for not doing so from the moment they've met. yet it was cut short as geovany grudged at his neck and left his lips for two milliseconds to whimper in delight when jack's knee buckled up to the middle of his jeans. it was involuntary of his part but too unnecessary at that, too soon to say if it was right but definitely not entirely wrong from the reaction he caused. he was proud but also a little bit embarrassed.
when geovany caught hold of him not being kissed anymore and opened his eyes to a red faced and lustful eyed jack, he had the audacity to giggle. geovany giggling with his mouth red and his perfect hair and his bergamot scent... — send shivers right to the core of jack's soul, distressing him even further. then he delivered those words as if nothing else was going on right now or more like he didn't mind jack's nerves getting to him. a remnant of a reassurance he needed came in a form of a laugh in a boy he didn't think would be this precious in his life six months ago when they met. "just one more then." he met his lips once again passionately, it was such a blissful one at that, possibly the best in the sequence. when he leaned back, his finger brushed the same lips he just kissed, wiping after him. "sorry, you can't leave with everything i have yet." despite his best wishes to give in and gift him with so much more than he ever dreamed of offering to anyone he ever had in his life. it was a begging, a great one at that and as his hand dropped to met his, bringing it to kiss it the fantasy of the boy who wanted to belong became a love story worth living for.
@deadasadisco ( Cosmic ) || Tell That Mick...
“I like the element of surprise.”
Jack's expression is cold, closed off, as he looks over who he takes to be one of the establishment's workers. Barely in the door, unchecked and unscreened. There's eyes on him from more than one angle - at least three sets, in fact. More, if there's a hidden sightline. All those eyes no doubt have guns, but in this space none would have the chance to stop him if he had come through the door with ill intent. This one -he looks at her again. A child. Their youngest? Unaccompanied. Down. Along with the next nearest at least, and perhaps one more. He shakes his head.
“You'll get it, with the place set up like this.” Not today, not from him, but someday if nothing changes. From what he sees and what he's gathered from Mazie and Tech, they've got one man doing the work of at least three people. As if to further the point, he's not even on the ground level now. Even in an establishment this small, and assuming at least one of those working the floor is willing to get rough, it's not enough. Three on nothing but security, at minimum, another one or two with more than one job like they've got. And, separate from that, someone out front for eyes if nothing else. The idea that he could -and that the bastard Tech put in the ground had walked right up without anyone the wiser...
He mutters something unintelligible, frown pulling. She's never coming here without someone to watch her back again. Neither of them. He'd expected more from the brother she described to him as protective, and former unit.
“Where's Maze?”
