Sheila Jackson Lee, a long-serving Democratic congresswoman from Texas and a strong advocate for Black Americans, has passed away at the age of 74 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
I finished ‘The Longest Day in Chang’An’ and I absolutely loved every minute except the LAST EPISODE! It was the best drama of the year (beating ‘The Story of Ming Lan’ by just a smidgen) and yet the ending is terrible! I would love to know who in their right mind would think that was a satisfying drama ending.
What I loved...
Most shocking: Zhang Xiao Jing survived! (How?! I thought for sure he would died from exhaustion by the end. I’ not complaining but I was surprised.)
Most satisfying: The crown prince and the emperor finally had a sit down face-to-face chat and weren’t plotting against the either one.
Most important: The emperor saw his faults as a leader. He wasn’t recognized by his own people because he was too high in his tower.
What I hated...
Most shocking: Tan Qi didn’t choose Li Bi OR Xiao Jing. She chose servitude? Are you kidding me? Over her fight to live in episode 32? If she had chosen neither of the men and chosen to be a free woman, I would have cheered!
Least satisfying: Where were all the other characters that were huge to the story? Yuan Zai (the most annoying character in the whole show), Right Counselor (what was his fate?), Yao Ru Neng, the Persian prince/priest/ or even the Right Calvary leader! What happened to anyone of these characters?
Most important: Where did Xu Bin get all that Persian money?! That was not explained at all! I can buy his “I’m a genius and I planned this whole thing” but I can’t buy that he was rich and hiding it from everyone.
That’s it. I’m done. If I go on anymore, I would have to write more and I don’t have the energy. Even if the ending is bad, just watch the show. It is amazing and deserves a ton of awards. It also deserves a better written ending...in my opinion.
