Its been a week since I watched Michael. For the second time. I watched it the week before too. Both times by myself. Best experience with the crowd.
I had zero hopes after hearing the premiere reviews and the critics can go to hell.
I have never paid to watch a movie twice. Good lord, I am still unwell. I can't listen to any other artist for more than a few songs.
I feel like I have been consumed by the MJ fever, and I want to cry because despite all the inaccuracies the movie was still beautiful - a full concert experience. And Jafaar did a really good job - man the critics did not even give the boy a chance.
And its amazing how everyone, all around the world is celebrating. MJ really did transcend every barrier - country, language, religion, race, just everything.
I remember watching Billie Jean about 8 years ago and thinking, why the fuck dint i check this out earlier. (I mean i did see it when I was a kid, i distinctly remember the day he passed away, all his songs were being played on TV.)
And then went down the rabbit hole (as always). And how shocked I was learning about the allegations and eventually the shit going on in the industry. And it all just makes a lot more sense right now.
How I wish I could go tell to my depressed self in college, how things would be today.
And its insane how much motivation this movie has given me. It was this happiness - dopamine bomb, that's literally keeping me going, and I won't stop till I get enough.....
Hee hee.
P.s. been wanting to post about this for a while, cuz there's way more to tell..... but I have only reached a state of calm right now 😭
