really love how sensitive santos is to criticism. it’s a personal attack, its the end of the world and a definitive statement about the entirety of her person every time. she couldn’t even handle whitaker catching something she didn’t. she remembers every word langdon said to her on her first day. her self loathing is really well executed and i just love how she can’t stop picking at wounds ever in the hope that it’ll turn out better only for it to be worse (ex. garcia… in regards to both langdon and the rain check situation). and i love how she was introduced as over-confident and cocky and she is (she couldn’t let go of the chest tube for this patient for example because she couldn’t stand not being right) but its just compensating for deep seated insecurity. its also why langdon is such a terrifying figure as someone who explicitly told her she ‘knows nothing’ its literally all her fears validated and personified. and it keeps going!!! she suddenly starts messing up in front of him and her attending and nobody is out to get her when they correct her but she still feels like thats whats happening. when she told samira her skin is as thick as a rhino. when she told her she could ‘take it’ about langdon’s tirade… well that was a lie but shes also lying to herself ❤️
