jake gives a whole impassioned coming out speech, as her, and when he finishes he says ‘wow that felt amazing. should i become an actor?’ but like,, he’s just,, bi?? 

he thinks he’s really good at embodying whatever persona but in actuality he is experiencing the bliss of fully embodying himself.

Jake Peralta is bisexual

Jake being bi is something we’ve all considered. Most of us have even picked who we want to be his ex-boyfriend in his coming out episode, and for most of us, it is john mulaney. John mulaney playing a twink version of detective bittenbinder. John mulaney just being a twink from Jake’s high school years. John mulaney being a twink in general is the main theory.

And i absolutely love it.

but, I have another theory or headcanon for you guys.

Jake gets an invitation to an ex’s wedding. Jake and amy decide to go, and amy isnt that surprised that there are two grooms at this wedding, given that Jake has probably already come out to her. Amy has heard of tons of stories about jakes old comedian friend, john. She never realized that John was his boyfriend, though, so she decides to do some research.

She finds tons of his stand up shows. 

One of them from about ten years ago about John’s “Jewish boyfriend”

“My boyfriend is a Jewish guy, which i did on purpose. Uh, that sounded creepy. I don’t mean like, ‘AAAGH I GOT ONE’ I mean like, I’m not Jewish, but I’ve always really liked jewish people. I just like them a lot, and I really like dating Jewish men. They’re great. Because I think what a lot of people have in relationships is communication cause guys don’t know how to communicate. And with Jewish men you don’t have to guess what they are thinking. They will tell you. Yeah, this is going to get playfully anti-Semitic so just allow it to go there. Ill get in trouble, you wont. I really do mean this though I… I really admire that Jewish people, in my own personal experience, have, are very up front with their feelings. They’re very… they’re very vocal about their thoughts and feelings and I just think that’s really admirable. I dated this guy, he used to stare out the window all day long and I’m like, what’s wrong? And he’d be like: “you wouldn’t even understand if I told you.” What the fuck am I supposed to do with that?!? My Jewish boyfriend and I don’t have to guess what’s wrong! He comes in the room and goes “MY STOMACH HURTS”  and then we can move on from there. That’s what I mean. He’s very focused. He’s very in the moment, you know. And that’s a good thing in a significant other. He’s very present. Jews don’t daydream, ‘cause folks are after ‘em and they gotta stay sharp, you know what I mean?”

And amy loves it. because thats exactly how it is with jake. she shows the precinct and Rosa says something like “I didn’t know that was about jake. Tight” because shes a john mulaney fan. Charles goes “Wait jake is bi?” and everyone (Including hitchcock and scully) says “YES” because its all very obvious and yeah.
