The last thing Colby remembered was Declan coming out of the lab. Well- the basement turned into a lab. “Declan?” He had asked at the time, watching as the taller and older boy had walked out. He was holding onto Colby’s suit, he remembered that too. “You’re coming with me.” Declan had replied at the time. Nobody had been home. Not his parents, not his siblings, nobody. Celia, the landlady, had come by whilst he was watching his show, and he remembered Hartley showing up too trying to find his sister. And that’s all he could remember from then out.
Within the rest of the Madden Family, which consisted of Amy, Jake, Vic, Eva and Y/N, they were stuck in a stupid “escape room” kind of area. “I’ve got to get you out of there!” Hartley, who had been dealing with Declan, spoke up. “What do I do!?” She asked aloud, looking around as she held onto one of Vic’s creations, That’s when the older man spoke. “Count to three! Aim the fusion blaster at the door, and shoot.” He explained. In which.. Hartley didn’t exactly count to three, but made a hole in the door, getting them out.
“I said count to three-!” Vic explained from where he’d been, being helped up by his wife. “Sorry!” Hartley quickly spoke, looking between everyone. Amy’s eyes were narrowed as she tried to keep her calm, but with Declan, or- Oculon knowing about Colby’s powers and him being the chosen one, could you blame her? Y/N was quick to speak, looking between everyone with widened eyes. “We need to get to Colby before Oculon does.” They spoke, but froze mid step as the family began to leave the room. “You’re too late.” An all too familiar voice spoke. “Onyx..” Great…
As the family turned to look at the screen, of course they were right. “You played this game well, but you should know that I always win.” How annoying Onyxs’ voice was. Each family member stared at the screen that once contained Oculon’s face, only as Onyx now had taken over. “And who knew the prize would turn out better than I even thought?” The “leader of villains” spoke, his head tilting to the side slightly. “All this time, I’ve been trying to capture the five of you when I only needed one.” Y/N’s eyes, at these words, widened.
The screen panned slightly to the left, revealing Oculon holding onto Colby. Flashform, as his family gave him the name. “The Chosen one.” Onyx then spoke. Oculon held a smirk on his face as he stared at the screen, Colby trying to get out of his grasp. Spoiler, it wasn’t working in his favor.. As the Maddens returned home, Y/N was freaking out. That’s their baby brother who just got kidnapped by a god damn villain who Amy and themself knew not to trust! “All right, everyone, suit up!” Amy was first to speak, nowhere near calm, of course.
“We’ve got to go to Centropolis and rescue Colby from Onyx!” Y/N then pointed out, running a hand through their hair and they tried to sound calm. Amy then spoke up, like she was rushing everyone. “So if you need to use the bathroom, do it now!” She almost demanded, making her way to where her havoc suit was put up. “You know how hard it is once we put these things on!” She continued to explain, watching as her family, minus Y/N, filed into the lab. “Let’s move!” She snapped out, standing by her costume rather quickly.
Vic was first to speak up, looking at the twins. “Amy, Y/N, we all want to save your brother, but we have to be smart about this.” Amy scoffed in response, shaking her head as she watched their father look for devices. “Then let’s be smart and fast so we can get out there and take down Onyx!” She spoke, worried, lacing in her voice. Y/N then spoke up. “Because of that hooded freak, we had to change our identities and move to Texas..” They muttered, watching as Hartley stood besides Amy. She held a slight smile, nervous.
“But on the bright side, you made a new best friend!” Hartley explained, watching as Amy’s eyes narrowed slightly at her best friend's words. “Hartley, I need to be fueled by rage right now, so please don’t take us on a detour to Happy Land!” She scowled right after, letting out a sigh before Eva spoke. “Amy, Y/N, your father’s right. I was a part of Onyx’s inner circle. I know how he operates.” Eva’s voice was calm as she tried to explain. “He will be expecting us to charge in there.” Of course, she’s thinking logically for once.
Onyx was powerful, and was the reasoning that everything happened and they ended up in this stupid state. "We'll be walking right into his trap. Which is why whatever we do has to be precise and carefully planned.” Vic then explained as he walked off to grab what looked like a duffel bag. “Or we will all be walking into deadly consequences.” He then finished, listening to his wife speak up right after. “Exactly. This could be the biggest battle of our lives.” She explained, as Vic placed the duffle bag down onto the table he’d been walking back towards.
“Lucky for us, I have been creating an arsenal of new devices that will protect us.” Vic explained as he took out a device, holding it in his hands. “I called this one the Jake.” That’s when the oldest of the family spoke, looking to his father. “Oh, you named it after me?” Jake asked, almost like he was happy about it before his father spoke up. “Yeah, it works, okay. Just not as good as I hoped it would be.” He mumbled, before Jake spoke up again. “Kind of like you as a father?” Ooo, burn.. Imagine being dissed.
Vic huffed slightly before speaking slowly. “You don’t have to be mean about it…” He mumbled before speaking up again. “If you’re in any danger, I just aim this device at you.” He began to explain. “It’ll dematerialize you and suck you right into the device. And then whenever it’s safe, I just push this button, and it’ll re-materialize you again.” He continued before pointing the device at Jake. “Here, I’ll demonstrate it on Jake.” Which, the oldest widened his eyes in response. “Excuse me- Do I get a say?” He asked, earning his fathers smile. “Yeah, say goodbye.” Boom!
Shooting the device at the oldest son, Y/N watched with the slight raise of their brows. One moment, Jake was gone, the next, he was in a whole different spot. “Woah! I rematerialized!” He exclaimed, letting out a slight laugh. “That was crazy! I- wait.” He went to count his fingers, making sure he had everything. “Okay, then, we’re good.” He confirmed before hearing Y/N speak up. “Great job, Dad. Just toss that bad boy in the bag, and let’s get a move on!” They explained, turning to face their suite. “Not yet.” And cue the groan there..
“I need to upgrade my vaporizing ray to give us a fighting chance,” Vic started, letting out a sigh before turning to make his way out of the lab. “Which means I need to go get some supplies!” And as he was making his way up the stairs, Eva was beginning to follow. “I’ll go with you!” As she faced Hartley, she spoke. “I’m kinda a smash to his grab!” She explained, before following after Vic. Hartley, who held a confused look, stared at the twins and Jake. “What does that even mean?!” She asked aloud. They didn’t ask questions.
With Colby, Onyx and Oculon, Colby was listening into the conversation. “Now that we’ve secured the Chosen One, I can return to Valley View and take out the rest of them.” Oculon spoke, his hands being to his sides as he focused his attention on Onyx. Colby’s hands were held together by a metal-like cuff. Onyx, in response, shook his head. “That won’t be necessary, Oculon.” He spoke, holding a calm look before Colby spoke up. “That’s right, it won’t!” He started. “Because my family is going to get you first!” So he hoped. Onyx chuckled, his voice low. “Exactly.”
“Those fools will be here soon enough to try and save their precious son. And when they do, we’ll be ready.” Onyx spoke, watching the fear in Colby’s face. Back home, Amy was pacing slightly before speaking. “Mom and dad are taking forever.” She muttered, hearing Y/N speak right after. “I’m done waiting. I’m going to Centropolis.” Amy looked towards their twin, nodding her head right after before hearing Hartley speak up. “What? guys, you can’t! Your parents said it’s too risky!” She tried to explain, gently taking Amy’s wrist. “I want you to save Colby,” She began speaking.
“But I don’t want to lose my best friend because I made a stupid mistake by trusting Declan!” She tried to explain, watching as Amy and Y/n’s eyes narrowed. Mostly Y/N-. Amy spoke, turning to look at Hartley fully. “Amy, I know you’re just looking out for me, but I can’t sit here while Onyx keeps our little brother hostage.” Y/N, in response, looked at the two. “I’m going.” They spoke, turning to reach for their suit. “Now.” Hartley, in response, looked at Jake. “Jake, do something!” She called out, watching the oldest walk right on over.
Jake let out a sigh, standing beside his siblings. “I’m gonna do something.” He spoke, like he actually was going to. “I’m going with them.” As he stood besides both of his siblings. Hartley stared with an “are you serious” face. “What? I meant stop them!” She explained, motioning between Amy and Y/N, but Jake looked between his siblings. “Look, we both know they’re an unstoppable duo.” He pointed out. “We’re nothing but roadkill in their rearview.” Y/N nodded their head slightly in response. “Besides, they’re both right.” He was pinching the bridge of his nose whilst talking.
“Onyx is one of the most unstable villains on the planet.” He continued to explain, his arms crossing slightly. “We have to get to Colby before it’s too late.” He explained again, watching as Hartley tried to stop them from going. “Well, what if Onyx takes you out in the process?” She asked, only watching as Y/N had grabbed their suit. “It’s a risk we have to take. Come on.” They mumbled, hearing Amy speak again. “Let’s go save our brother.” Back at Centropolis, Onyx, Oculon and Colby were still… arguing? Not really arguing but it was almost bickering.
Colby was annoyed, his fists clenched together as Oculon spoke. “In your family’s absence, Onyx took over your former lair and brought dignity to this den of betrayal.” He explained, motioning around the lair and earning a look of disgust from Colby. “Smells like he also brought whatever nasty stench is underneath that robe.” He pointed out, being hit on the top of the head from Oculon. “You will afford our leader the respect he deserves.” Colby just continued to stare, looking at Onyx now. “Do you pay him every time he sucks up to you,” He started, sounding confused.
“Or is it more of a blanket deal?” He then asked, raising his brow as Onyx spoke. “Enough!” He commanded, watching as Colby stared. “What do you want with me anyway?” He asked, but Onyx held his hands together. “All will be revealed in time.” He explained, but Colby was quick to point out. “Yeah, well here’s a reveal! I have multiple powers! And I’m about to use my invisibility to escape!” He spoke out, confident in his plan but.. Who knows. “Later, dudes!” As soon as he tried to move, Onyx had immobilized him. Which.. He was freaking out.
“It’s not working! I can’t move!” Colby called out, trying to move, yet as stated, he couldn’t. Oculon held a calm look as he spoke. “That’s because he just immobilized you.” He’d explain, watching Onyx and listening to the leader speak. “Pay attention, Chosen One. The show is about to begin.” Onyx motioned towards the screen, a smirk under his mask. “Look who just showed up in Centropolis.” On a screen revealed the trio. Havoc, Chaos, and Destruction. At the sight of his siblings, Colby spoke. “No! Don’t hurt them!” Seems he cared deeply about the three, how sickeningly sweet..
Onyx rolled his eyes slightly, one hand a fist as it rested on the arm of the chair he sat on. “Unlike you, I don’t disclose my plans before I execute them.” That made Colby sound even more fearful. “You’re going to execute them!?” He questioned quickly, watching as Onyx shook his head. “What? No, I meant executing the plan.” He explained, only as the younger boy spoke again. “So, you’re not gonna execute them?” He then asked, tilting his head slightly. “I didn’t say that.” Onyx then retorted as Colby, again, asked. “Then what are you saying?” “Nothing- Nevermind.”
Amongst Centropolis, the three siblings walked together, looking around. Y/N spoke up first, pinching the bridge of their mask. “How could Onyx not be keeping Colby in his lair?” They muttered, hearing Jake speak up. “You just realized the world’s most evil villain is unpredictable?” He asked, earning a scoff from the twin dressed in blacks and silvers. “No, we realized that the day we found out he has a vacation lair in Fort Lauderdale.” Amy spoke up for her twin, looking at Jake. “I want to say, it feels good to be back here in our villain suits.”
“Yeah, speak for yourself-” Jake muttered aloud, shaking his head. “These pants have gotten tighter since I discovered garlic fries.” Those didn’t sound delicious in Y/N’s mind, only as they rolled their eyes. “Come on, think. Where could Onyx be holding Colby?” Jake questioned, watching as Y/N stopped in their steps and spoke. “Wait. I got it.” They spoke up, looking at their siblings. “Our old lair!” Jake, in response, shook his head. “No, that’s too easy.” He mumbled slightly, but Amy agreed. “No, he wants it to be easy.” She pointed out, letting out a soft sigh.
“He’s trying to lure us in so we can attack, but we know that place better than anyone!” Amy explained, watching as Jake pieced the pieces together. “Which means we can ambush them!” He spoke, before Y/N did right after. “We just need to do it fast before Onyx or Oculon realize that we’re here.” As they begun to walk away, the sound of someone behind them had their attention. “Too late.” Oculon’s voice spoke out, resulting in a groan from Y/N. “Okay.. on to plan B..” Amy began to speak. “Which I do not have..” Oh lovely.
As Declan walked past the three, closer to the cars, Amy spoke up. “We’re taking our brother back.” She spoke firmly, staring Declan in the eyes. “The Chosen One belongs to Onyx now.” Oculon spoke, watching the three closely. “Yeah? Well, not for long!” Jake exclaimed, taking a light post and using his super strength to throw it at the villain across from them. But uh.. Turns out Oculon had heat rays, as the light post was blasted. “He has heat rays for eyes..?” Jake muttered, holding a tone of frustration, This was gonna be so fun.. So.. much fun..
“Wow, so the last time my fries got cold, you sat there and let me eat ‘em?” Y/N stared at their brother with an annoyed look before speaking up. “Insanely irrelevant to the situation at hand!” They snapped at Jake, scoffing after. Amy, right after the scoff, had used her sonic voice to push Oculon away. “Let’s go.” She spoke, as the three began to try and make their way to where their former lair used to be. As Oculon revealed from behind cars, he spoke. “Not so fast.” His eyes glowed red as Amy shouted a quick command.
“Run!” But they didn’t get to, as Oculon was trapping them with his heat rays. “Another way!” Y/N shouted, but it was too late. Oculon’s laser eyes were trapping them in, the three standing close to one another before a familiar voice spoke up. “Get away from my kids!” The heat rays only stopped when electricity struck Oculon, knocking him into the ground. Y/N took a couple seconds to process. “Mom?” They questioned aloud before hearing their fathers voice. “What were you three thinking coming here by yourself?! You have any idea how dumb that was!?” Stupid question.
Amy stared at their father for a moment before pointing out. “Not as dumb as standing out in the open when a guy is about to shoot you with his heat vision!” She pointed out, watching their father’s confusion. “Huh?” He mumbled before Y/N called out. “Look out!” Great, more heat lasers! Jake let out a complaint as Vic jumped out of the way. “Come on, dude, seriously? Don’t you have to, like, blink in between some of those!?” He questioned, watching as Oculon tried to shoot lasers towards him, though he dodged. As did their mother. Y/N didn’t.
Y/N would stand ground with Amy any day of the year. As the lasers continued to blast towards herself and Y/N, the two were doing their best to try the lasers, Amy called out eventually. “There’s too many!” But Y/N spoke right after. “We can’t dodge them all!” Now ain’t that the truth? Vic spoke up afterwards, pointing the device he had before, what he used to dematerialize Jake, before shooting it. And out came.. “Hartley??” The girl held widened eyes, looking between everyone. Though, most of her attention was on the twins in front of her.
“When you’re not solid matter for a long time, it feels really good to be solid matter again!” She explained before looking at Oculon, or Declan. “I see you’ve found Declan.” Her eyes narrowed as she spoke before Eva spoke up. “Yes, thank you so much for bringing him into our life!” Eva’s voice was laced with sarcasm before Vic pointed his vaporizer at Declan. “Time to deal with this guy once and for all!” but.. As soon as he had gone to pull the trigger, Declan was gone. “He teleported again!” Y/N pointed out, looking around right after.
Amy was the one to point Declan out, calling out to their dad. “Dad! Behind you!” She shouted before running and tackling her dad out of the way. With the tackle, the vaporizer had been thrown up in the air. Nobody expected Hartley, sweet, kind Hartley, to catch it. Declan’s eyes were widened as he stared at Hartley, who now held the vaporizer. “Sorry things didn’t work between us,” Hartley began to speak, taking in a deep breath in. “But just so you know, it’s not me! It’s you!”She snapped, hearing a “No!” before vaporizing the boy she loved.
“Happy anniversary to me!” Hartley squealed before hearing Amy speak up. “Oh, Hartley.. Your first vaporization!” She let out a little chuckle right after hearing Y/N speak up besides them. “Our little girl is growing up.” They wiped away a fake tear, letting out a small laugh before Vic spoke up. “Stop praising the stowaway!” He grumbled before facing the three kids. “Let’s get back to my original question; What were you three thinking coming here alone?" He asked, looking between the three kids, in which Y/N was first to speak up. “"We couldn't wait.” They mumbled aloud.
“We need to save Colby.” Amy was next to speak up. Looking at her father, she spoke. “I need to get even with Onyx. Especially since my last showdown with him blew up in my face.” She explained, hearing Jake speak up from where he stood. "Well, technically, it blew up in all of our faces when Onyx hurled that giant fireball into our lair." He then grew quiet as he looked between the family and Hartley. “What? Too soon?” Amy, in response, let out a sigh. “That’s why I couldn’t just sit back and give Onyx another victory.” Valid.
Jake spoke slightly, standing to the left of Hartley and the right of his mother, letting out a sigh before replying. “And I was not about to let these two face him on their own.” He explained, motioning to Y/N and Amy. Eva was next to speak up, looking between everyone. “"Look, you both had noble reasons." She began to explain, her expression genuine. "Amy, you should never have had to face Onyx on your own the first time." Her voice was gentle as she spoke, like she felt.. Bad. "It was my battle to fight." Ain’t that true.
"I should have been right there beside you." See, Y/N stuck by Amy’s side during that too. Twins gotta stick together, y’know. As Eva spoke, Amy remained silent. Vic then spoke, his voice firm and confirming. "We all should have. We're family, and we have each other's backs." Y/N didn’t say a word, feeling their brother's arm wrap around their shoulder. “So from here on out, we’re in this together.” Vic explained, recharging the vaporizer as he spoke up. “Let’s get our Colby back.” He mumbled, beginning to lead the way. Let’s hope this goes to the plan.
Back in the former lair, where Colby and Onyx had been, Colby spoke with a proud smirk and tone of voice. "Looks like your little lap dog Oculon got what he deserves." He pointed out upon Oculon no longer being anywhere to be seen. "I told you my family would come for me." But was that really the right move? He didn’t know, but he sure as hell thought so. As he stood in front of Onyx, he continued to speak. "You'll never be able to take them all down." But.. Onyx had something up his sleeve. Something nobody expected.
“I don’t have to. You will.” And like that, a red light had gone from Onyx, and straight to Colby. “No-! Stop-! What are you-!” Colby grew dead silent, his eyes staring blankly ahead before Onyx spoke again. "You will give in to my control." Mind control. Brainwash, same thing at this point! In a monotone voice, Colby spoke. “"Yes, all powerful leader.” Onyx, again, spoke coldly. “Good.” He started, before speaking once again. “Now, destroy your family.” Not even a second thought had gone through Colby’s mind before he spoke. “I will destroy my family.” No second thoughts.. None.
With the confirmation from the brainwashed boy, Onyx, using his powers, got the cuffs off of Colby, who turned to leave the lair and out onto the streets of Centropalis. The sound of cop sirens rang far and wide, but nowhere near the villain family. Jake was the first to speak. “We’ve looked everywhere! Where the heck is Colby?” He asked aloud before Hartley spoke up. "I've never been in such a big city.. So different from Valley View." Y/N, in response, spoke up. "Yeah. No, there are actually things to do here." A sudden blast knocked them down.
“What the heck was that..” Jake went to speak, sitting up slightly as Amy went to speak. “I think it was..” She squinted her eyes to see before Y/N’s voice spoke up. “Colby!?” Colby stood towards the electronics and appliances stores, whilst the family was getting up alongside the cars. Colby, monotone again, spoke up. “I will destroy my family.” That made Y/N’s blood grow cold before Eva spoke. “No. Onyx must have brainwashed him to turn against us!" Nobody replied, letting their mother speak. "Although, to be fair, it doesn't take much to turn against us.." True..
Vic, as idiotic as ever, had begun making his way over to his son. "Well, I know my son, and there's no way he'd turn on his dear old dad. Come here, bud." And as the older man tried to talk, Colby sent off a kinetic blast, making Vic drop to the ground in pain. “Stop!” Colby commanded upon doing so, but as Vic was on the ground, he spoke up. "Colby, you're making it really hard to want to save your butt.." He muttered aloud. Next was Jake’s turn to try and calm down his baby brother. Wouldn’t work.
"Colby, let's just calm down, okay, buddy?" It sounded more like a question, but he was trying his best, okay-? He took slight steps towards his brother, like Colby was a wild animal. One arm was held behind him, like he’d been shielding Amy, Y/N, Hartley and their mother. "I don't want to hurt you." As he took steps, Colby sent off another kinetic energy blast. “Okay.. now I wanna’ hurt you..” Jake muttered from the ground. Amy was quick to call out to her brother. “Colby!” She exclaimed, being knocked down right after. Y/N too, but.. Lighter.
Amy held an annoyed expression at her younger brother before speaking up. “Remember when he was a towel?” She asked aloud, looking at Jake before back to Colby. “I MISS THAT.” She scowled, helping Y/N up as Jake stood to his feet. “What do we do?” She then asked as Y/N spoke up. “"What about using your Sonic hypnosis?" Y/N asked, looking at their twin. "You could fight Onyx's brainwashing with some of your own." They pointed out, trying to appear calm. “Please hurry!” Vic pleaded, being held upside down by his own son's kinetic energy ability.
“You both could.” Jake then explained. “The more power, the better.” He explained, looking to his mother, who nodded in response. Hartley then spoke up with confusion. "Wait. You two never told me you have Sonic Hypnosis!" She exclaimed before Amy spoke up. "Oh, that's because we've secretly use it on you sometimes." She admitted, before Y/N spoke up again. "Remember all those earrings you bought us?" In which, Hartley shook her head. “Exactly.” Amy spoke as Y/N walked towards Colby. “HEY!” They snapped out, using their own sonic hypnosis, as well as Amy. Now, they stood together.
Y/N was staring directly into their baby brother's eyes, their expression worried. "Colby? We're your family." Y/N was closer to Colby than anyone in the family, so it made sense that they were the most worried. Amy then spoke, her voice calm-ish. "Despite what Onyx says,you don't want to hurt us." They had to break the brainwashing somehow, they just hoped this would work. "Must.. must.. des.. destroy fam-" Colby had gone to speak, but Y/N cut him off. "Colby, don't do this. You don’t want to hurt us!” They tried to explain, getting more worried.
“Come on, Colbs! We love you!” Eva called out, in which Y/N’s eyes narrowed slightly. Don’t interrupt it, they thought. "You know us.. we're your family.." Family.. That repeated in Colby’s mind as he closed his eyes tightly for a moment. He pressed against his temples as Amy spoke. “Come on, Colby..” It almost sounded like she was pleading.. “You’re.. My family..” Colby spoke, pressing his fingers against his temple harder now as he processed everything. “I won’t hurt you..” As he spoke, a red disappeared from his eyes, and his mind. With that, Vic fell onto his stomach.
It took him a couple of seconds to process everything, but Colby spoke quickly. “Y/N? Amy?” He looked behind his siblings, confused for a moment before seeing their mother. “Mom?” He spoke, but before he got the chance to move, Y/N was already hugging him tightly. “What happened?” He asked aloud, looking between his family. Vic was first to speak. “It doesn’t matter! You’re safe now!” He explained before Hartley asked a question. “Can we go home now? My grandma still thinks I’m in an escape room-” She pointed out as Jake nodded his head in pure agreement.
“Yeah, let’s get out of here.” As they turned to leave, the ground began to shake. “What the heck is that!?” Hartley asked in fear, looking around at everyone. In sync, Amy and Y/N spoke. “Onyx.” Oh, how lovely! As Onyx appeared from behind a car, they heard his annoying laugh. Hartley, with frustration, let out a sigh. “Okay, that’s it. I’ve had enough with this dude!” She spoke, grabbing the vaporizer and pointing it at Onyx. “You’re done messing with my friends!” She shouted, but regretted right after as Onyx set a small blaze to her hair. Woo..
“Okay, on second thought.. I’ll just leave this to the people with powers!” She exclaimed, moving to duck behind a car as Eva stepped up, staring Onyx done. “Well, if it isn’t my old boss.” She scoffed out, her expression narrowed. “What do you say, chief?” She asked, sending a volt of electricity towards Onyx. Who, in response, moved back slightly before speaking. “Surge.. Now I remember why I didn’t promote you.” He used his own power, making Eva stumble towards a car and slouching against it. “Because you are weak!” He explained, watching as Amy ran over to Eva.
As Amy ran over, Vic picked up his vaporizer. “Hey Onyx! Pick on someone your own size! I mean, she kind of is your size- but you know what I mean!" He shouted, but again, trying to shoot the vaporizer against Onyx's abilities ended up with him on the ground. Y/N was quick to speak, making their way to the front. “I told you this before, and I’ll say it again! No one calls my family weak!” They snapped out as Jake stepped up. “I second that!” Colby too. “I third that!” He spoke, staring Onyx down before speaking.
"I know rolling up third doesn't pack as much of a punch, but I mean it." Colby mumbled slightly as he stood alongside Y/N and Jake. “You pathetic creatures.. You had so much potential as villains..” Onyx spoke, staring at the three siblings. “And you threw it away. For what?” He asked, listening as Y/N spoke up first, their voice firm. “To defend our mother!” Jake then called out. “To show you that the guy with powers doesn’t always win!” He explained, but Onyx only chuckled and questioned. “Wanna bet?” He asked, using his powers to immobilize them.
“Since you’re all here, the real festivities can begin.” Onyx spoke with a smirk under his dark mask. Y/N then spoke, trying to move but to no avail. “I can’t move!” They complained as they tried to move. Jake spoke right after. “Neither can I-” He’d grumble out before Eva explained from where she and Amy sat. “He immobilized us. I can’t use my powers if I can’t raise my arm-” Colby hadn’t said a word, lying flat on his stomach as he tried to move. He was trying so.. So hard.. To get up to defend his family.
Onyx had let out a chuckle as he stared between each family member. “Now that I have the Chosen One, I can become the most powerful villain in the world by transferring all his powers to myself.” He’d explain, hearing Vic speak up. “No! His body isn’t strong enough to take that kind of pressure!” He coughed out, watching the youngest son struggle to get up. “The time has come.” Onyx spoke, using his power to get Colby up. “The Chosen One’s powers will be mine!” A green energy had surrounded Colby’s chest as Onyx floated him right on over.
“Now we’re talking.” He spoke, dropping the boy right after before hearing Eva’s pleas. “Onyx, please- leave him alone, take me instead!” She tried to plead with her former boss, watching the situation and not being able to do anything. “Quiet!” Onyx demanded, forcing all his power to try and steal the powers Colby had. As he did so, Colby had slowly begun to drop to the floor. “Colby! Use your Kinetic Manipulation!” Amy called out. “You know, the power with the blue glow!” She tried to explain, but Colby only groaned. “There’s no way! I don’t have the strength!”
It would hurt him, he thought. Y/N was next to speak, their voice filled with panic. “You have to try!” They shouted out. As Colby tried and tried, Onyx continued to try and tear apart the boy’s powers. “Ah, yes..” He’d mumble, but Colby’s voice broke slightly. “I can’t do it!” He called out to his sibling, but Y/N and Amy didn’t give up on him. “Yes you can, keep going!” Amy called out, watching her baby brother before Onyx spoke. “You’re wasting your time! Even as the chosen one, you’ll never be as powerful as me!” Huh?
“Maybe not, but you don’t stand a chance against the two of us!” Y/N spoke, no longer trying to get up and move, but instead, trying to control their own power. “And you may be able to immobilize me, but you’ll never silence me!” They snapped before shouting to Colby. “NOW!” That’s when Y/N had begun to amplify Colby’s Kinetic Manipulation. “How are you doing that!?” Onyx shouted, trying to stop everything. “What’s happening!?” He continued to shout, in pain. “NOOO!” It was then that Onyx was gone for good. “It’s called payback.” They then muttered, standing after.
Y/N was the first one to rush over to Colby, engulfing their baby brother with a hug. “You okay, Colby?” They’d ask, making sure the younger boy wasn’t in any form of pain. “Besides the burning sensation in my chest? I’m great!” Colby explained, leaning against his sibling slightly. Vic had led the way somewhere by then, the old lair. Not that anyone complained, it was their old home after all. But all that Y/N cared about was making sure that Colby was okay. They didn’t listen to their parents, no. They were watching Colby with protective instincts.
