I got some responses in that previous post from people who said they hadn't heard about this so here's what happened:

Back in December 2015 comedian James Meehan was making an animated pilot for a show called Space Dads. Meehan described it as "a group of idiots get trapped in space on a rocket powered by one of their Dad's computers."

It was going to star those guys above (Scroobius Pip, Joe Gilgun, James Acaster, Brett Goldstein), and Kath Hughes. According to twitter they were spotted getting lunch together at the University of Salford in Manchester in 2015.

It was in development up through 2017. I'm not sure what happened after that. Obviously it never took off, and I imagine it became less likely to happen as each of these guys became increasingly successful, but it's fun to think about the what if and I'd love to know what a conversation between them all was like.

Hey, our dear gilguners! We have some news for you. A bit of the animation you see is related to the independent animated show called Space Dads. It's created by Andrew Jolly, Kyle Webster, and James Meehan. The audio for the episode with the actors was already recorded and current work on preliminary animation is in progress. The date of release hasn't been settled yet so we can't give you any time period to expect it. Let's just wish a good luck to creators and cross our fingers that there will be a lot of episodes to enjoy!

Kiri Pritchard-Mclean's 'Victim, Complex' (Courtyard, 8pm) adds another layer. She's the off-stage member of Gein's Family Giftshop and a flourishing solo stand-up who spoke about underage grooming long before the alt-right did. This year, her topic is gaslighting: convincing someone they're going slightly mad to cover up your own misdeeds. It's difficult, she explains. She isn't the victim type; she's a feminist who believes in the sisterhood. So, when her ex-boyfriend convinced her he wasn't having an affair, she doubted her mind rather than her experience. Her set is very dark, but very funny. The timing is masterful: each gasp of horror is followed by a shout of laughter. Here is where it gets delicate. Richard-McLean's ex is also here. James Meehan's 'Gaz '(Just the Tonic, 6pm) covers his collapse into depression after their liason ended. He describes a relationship with a bully who, yes, gaslit him. There are few bleaker experiences on the Fringe than seeing both of those shows - and fewer more complicated. Both claim some version of victim status. Both claim some form of abuse. Both claim gaslighting. How do we navigate this? She is a woman who says she's been gaslit and deserves to be taken on trust. He is a man who claims he was bullied and deserves to be heard.
