Gearing up for St Patty's day 💚☘️

Hi, I made two cakes. Also, I have not been very... present here simply because of work and my decreasing desire to post things. Now that I’ve made some more cakes I have something else to post so YAY! 

01. The first cake is a super AWESOME Jameson barrel cake that is made with tempered chocolate that was cut into sheets and then molded around the cake. I textured the chocolate with a wire brush and knife as well as airbrushed the whole thing for added definition. Oh and it’s a marble cake with buttercream frosting with the addition of mini marshmallows to act as the ice for the whiskey.

02. My second cake was made for the GOT season 8 premiere and it literally took days to make. It’s a basic vanilla on vanilla buttercream cake (boring I know, but my chocolate cake made too much batter and I was on a budget with it and couldn’t go too crazy trying new recipes.) ANYWAYS, I was super inspired by the stone and mountains in the series and knew I wanted to create something like that for my cake. I made fondant and dyed it a marbled grey, textured it using aluminum foil, and then added holes, cuts, and cracks using fondant tools. The banner was a bit last minute but it needed something. I tried making a template for the logo but had failed so I ended up free handing the logo with a bit of black petal dust and alcohol. My friend painted the egg metallic (and yes It’s not perfect but we were kinda rushing pls don’t judge me.) However, after all that we shaded the rocks with black and green petal dusts and the banner with some brown. I think it turned out awesome and it was super fun and relaxing to make. 

Anyways, this is all for now and I may be back soon with another fun cake (but only if it turns out really good.)
