Prompt you’d like to see included on the blog a days this year

Here are a few I'd like to see:

When you were young, did you take part in a money making activity (lemonade stand, paper route, car wash)?

Is there a fictional character you identified with so closely you wanted to be that character?

A movie that everyone else thought was terrible that you really liked. (This could be done multiple times with book, TV show, song, etc. It could also be turned around: a movie or whatever that everyone loved but you couldn't stand.)

Something obsolete and no longer around that you wish was still here.

Are there things that happen in movies, TV shows or videos that make you cringe when you see them?

Were you in the "in crowd" when you were in school? How did you feel about it then? How do you feel about it now?

Something that happened in your life that you thought was bad at the time but you now see it turned out for good.

A movie with such a great message you wish it could be re-released or remade every few years.

Worst job you've had to date & why you thought it was the worst.

Favorite "Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handey. (Alternatively: Have you thought up any "Deep Thoughts" in the style of Jack Handey?)

January 28, 2019 - Blog Challenge

Favorite Month and Why

Hmmm... Seems to me this question was on an earlier BAD Challenge and I said I didn't really have a favorite. That's the beauty of these challenges, and even the recurring questions: How I think and feel one day might not be how I think and/or feel at all on a different day.

With that in mind, I;ve given it a little thought and decided APRIL is my favorite season.

Any why? Well, because April is the season of fresh air, flowers in bloom, and sunshine. The thawing of winter (my least liked season), and the thaw is in full swing, not just starting as it was the last week of March. If the sunshine is interrupted by April showers, all the better: breathing the air during a run after the rain is all that more refreshing.April has the brisk warmth of Spring but not the sweltering heat of Summer. And Daylist Savings Time has kicked in and there's plenty of time for a ride or run in the evening.

Every month has its own special charm, but for now I'll choose April as my Month of the Day.

Swoon

This one is awfully open.

Swooning can be shallow, or it cvan be deep. A person can swoon over someone because of how they look in a swimsuit or a pair of shorts, or their hair or their eyes oe the sound of their voice. I won't discount this "love at first sight" kind of swooning, but I think it's better if it leads to something deeper and with more substance.

I think swooning involves some dropping of one's guard, some openness and vulnerability that might be a little frightening at some level. I remember an event from when I was dating the girl who eventually became my first wife, I think we were in a park, sitting on a bench, just enjoying being with each other. It was early in our relationship, and at one point Martha looked at me just watching her lovingly and broke into a smile, gasping, "Oh, I love you!" and reaching around to hug me. After we hugged, I asked her what she'd said. (I knew, but I just wanted to hear her say it again.) At that, she got a little nervous and hesitant. I realize now that she was swept with emotion when she said it, but now that the wave had passed she was a bit more guarded.

There's nothig wrong with swooning. I just think it's best when it's the start of something wonderful.

18. Intimacy

Weird things can seem intimate. One that stands out for me: a couple months ago, EC, our day janitor/custodian, had cut his finger and needed a band aid; I keep some in my desk drawer (cus kids) and offered to put it on his finger for him. Doing so seemed weirdly intimate to me and I’m not sure why--I adore EC and his wife (I knew/worked with her first and she’s an absolute doll, who thankfully, did not marry an asshole....). And I’ve band-aided dozens of kids fingers (and knees) over the years and never felt that. It was weird.

I don’t think I’m intimate with a lot of people. C is probably the one I’m most intimate with and that’s purely on a friendship level.

I really don’t know....don’t have much else for this one.

Obsessions:

Pokemon on the Switch, currently. Puffers, obviously. :P Many aquatic things...flowing shapes that undulate. Celestial colors. Feathers- black ones in particular. Wolves, quietly.
