not the Ghoul pulling himself up a 15 foot pole on which he had been violently impaled through his midsection, after being left in agony for hours and on the brink of losing his mind, based on nothing more than pure arm strength and the power of fatherly love….Janey your father cares so much about you.
Deleted scene from 2x06:
The Ghoul's scene at the super mutant's temple was originally going to have him hallucinate Lucy and Janey, no doubt highlighting that he is developing feelings for Lucy and it's mostly Janey he wants to reunite with.
This is likely the scene that Walton Goggins said in interviews was filmed on a day when he was particularly inconsolable due to being away from his son, to the point of making many in the crew uncomfortable.
“There was a scene we did that didn’t make it in the cut, mind you, and it just so happened to coincide with a day I was inconsolable missing my own child and it just became something else, I just couldn’t handle it and there were a lot of people in the room. And everybody became really uncomfortable in the best way like ‘man I miss my kid’ and it…whatever this is… it’s just like missing my kid and being close to the people you love.”

"Coop wouldn't be able to love the woman who dropped bombs and ended the world!" and why the hell not? I just genuinely want to know why people believe that Coop couldn't love his wife and the mother of his beloved child bc she might have done something terrible? It doesn't make sense to me. Love is more than just marriage and children, obviously; it can be inherently messy and ugly at times. I feel like denying Cooper the experience of this adversity in his marriage diminishes his character. I keep seeing a common thread of what I personally have perceived as antiblackness woven through the fan speculation/perception of Barb and, sometimes, even Maximus. Like yeah, yeah, #fandomsoracist whatever it's expected atp. But people are constantly begging for complex female villains, and we hit the jackpot with Barbara Howard. Some of y'all's analysis of her character feels so unfair, because we haven't even met her yet! We know she would do some very, very bad things to keep her family safe. We know that she potentially may have joined the Enclave. We know that she can eat up a pastel color palette. But we don't know anything about her personally outside of her marriage to Cooper and her problematic employment at Vault-Tec. She's an antagonist without much depth so far, so I get people jumping to conclusions about what may have happened before the bombs dropped. But it just doesn't sit well with me that many viewers hold negative views about her personally. I'm just saying, can we all get to know the woman before we start denying her the love of her life? We've seen exactly what Coop would do to keep his family safe. We've seen just how much hope he gets from the thought of Barb and Janey potentially alive out there. If you deem Coop to be so good and righteous, then why would Barb specifically not be worth a love that outlasts an atomic bomb? Considering we haven't met her as Barbara Howard the person, only as Barbara Howard the loyal wife, mother, and potential threat to national security. Most speculation just doesn't feel fair. If you think I'm being "too deep," I really don't care. Anti-blackness leeches into everything, especially fandom on this site.
Happy -39 birthday to Janey Howard ‼️‼️
The only two times The Ghoul drops his accent in the show are when he's asking Hank where his family his and when he's dragging himself up the pole talking about Janey. Little girl, you've kept your daddy alive even when the wasteland tried to kill his body and soul. I need them to reunite with hugs and tears.
