Until one day I just realized that I love this person too much.” – Unknown #Chocolate episode 7 was dramatic,lovely & i liked how the comical scenes are inserted into it.💙😊 Kang & Cha romantic atmosphere was ruined by Tae,just like that,haha,but thanks to Tae,he often brings lighter scenes to the series.the noodles that was made by Han,i like how Kang remembered his old days on such.Cha trying to explain last night incident to Kang was comical.Yesol mom's case was sad,hope all patients realized the consequences for doing such. Huiji calling Jun to come visit her was nice,his parents French battle on such was fun.Jiyong mom at hospice was moving.Jiyong giving Kang the sandwich was a striking one,i love the child innocence.Cha preparing Huiji for her meeting to Jun was good.their convo was striking & you will know on such that Huiju had something.Jun & Huiji,their moment is touching & blue.how sorry she was & Jun answers on that was heart wreching,ouch,i am in awe of how #JangSeungJo played it so well.Huiju trying to have suicide by drowning herself was nerve-wracking, Cha saving her was intense & Kang helping them was relieving.Kang performing cpr,Cha crying & Jun in shocked,that was an emotional part.#HaJiWon nailed the crying scene.Jun listening to Huiji words after was a tearjerker,why it is so sad??? The Good Detective is a 16-episode crime detective drama starring Son Hyun-joo (Justice, Criminal Minds, Signal) & Jang Seung-jo (Encounter, Familiar Wife). This is a crime drama of the battle between detectives who try to reveal the truth and those who frequently cover it up.

Kang Do-chang (Son Hyun-joo) has been working as a detective for the past 18 years. He investigates cases using his experience and personal connections, forgoing scientific technique or reasoning power. Oh Ji-hyuk (Jang Seung-jo) is an elite detective with 9 years of experience. Unlike Kang Do-chang, he investigates cases using evidence and insight into the criminal's psyche. Due to trauma from his childhood, Ji-hyuk does not share his feelings. He is wealthy thanks to his late uncle who left him with a large inheritance. Jin Seo-kyung (Lee Elijah) works as a newspaper reporter. She is a 5-year veteran and passionate about her work. These opposites partnered together to reopen a case from 5 years ago.

The Good Detective takes a step away from typical investigation dramas, which highlight the cruelty of cases and illustrate the confrontation between murderer and detectives. It captivates viewers by bringing two contrasting detectives together to chase after a hidden truth. The murder mystery becomes even more impressive as Kang Do-chang who only cared about his own safety rather than his belief for realistic reasons, chooses to follow his conscience and correct his past mistake.

The actors’ brilliant performance is also a reason that draws the viewers in with The Good Detective. Specifically, Son Hyun-joo and Jang Seung-jo’s acting that make the characters come alive. Son Hyun-joo sophisticatedly portrays an ordinary detective with genuine struggles, while Jang Seung-jo forms a sense of realism by flexibly expressing the character who can seem a bit unrealistic. The chemistry between the two is also attention grabbing through the drama.

Worthily, The Good Detective touched on the dedication of people to their careers and the way they aligned it to how they live as a person. Son Hyun-joo’s character Do-chang represents all the veteran employees who find fulfilment in their job not by the achievements or promotion gained.

Character & Cast

Son Hyun-joo (as Kang Do-chang) The tough and loyal leader of the Homicide Unit with 18 years of experience. Rather than relying on forensic analysis or outstanding reasoning skills, Do-chang is a detective who depends on his experiences and personal connections. As a result, despite being a detective who captures vicious criminals, Do-chang gives off the appearance of a kind and friendly neighbour.

Jang Seung-jo (as Oh Ji-hyuk)

An elite detective in the Homicide Unit with 9 years of experience in the field. Ji-hyuk doesn’t express his emotions with others due to a traumatic experience from his childhood. Thanks to a sizeable inheritance left to him, he’s a rare type of detective who isn’t concerned about money. Ji-hyuk is takes a cold, calculating approach to investigations. He focuses only on the facts of the case by relying on analysis of the crime scene and his keen insight into the mind of the suspect.

Elijah Lee (as Jin Seo-kyung)

A reporter with five years’ experience for the Junghan Daily, one of the four biggest newspapers in the nation. Although some people have built misconceptions about Seo-kyung due to her fiery personality, she doesn’t cave to any outside pressure and sticks to her beliefs.

Kang treating Jun's hand & their soju time after were touching.Jun finally revealing the truth to Kang was good & i must say that #JangSeungJo acting was so impressive.Cha & Tae sibling ties disconnected mode was sad.Kang making food for Cha was so sweet.
