the funniest thing to me too is that jasper's storyline is actually can actually serve as an allegory for a racism redmeption arc, and that she accidnetally wrote that it hysterical to me
Hmm. I can see how she could have! If he actually atoned for anything or treated the Native characters well or made reparations, he could have served as an allegory for a reformed racist (although that still seems highly suspect).
Unfortunately, his background is like a throwaway trait with zero clarification and you can just TELL smeyer doesn't think there's anything wrong with that. Like @the-olympic-coven said, total author bias.
