Happy Holidays @willexmagic! This is you gift for the @jatp-secretsanta, it’s pure fluff, a Willex date and inspired by Fearless by Taylor Swift. The line “you take my hand and drag me headfirst” always reminds me of the scene in front of the museum when Willie takes Alex’s hand and pulls him inside. That association started this fic and the rest of the song provided the guidelines for the rest of their date. I hope you enjoy it!
It was raining and Alex was nervously huddled close to a wall, waiting in front of the museum where he was supposed to meet Willie in five minutes. They had been hanging out more often lately and Alex was pretty sure they were flirting, or at least he hoped they were. Maybe it was just wishful thinking.
Of course, Julie, Reggie, and Luke had almost yelled at him when he voiced that concern to them. According to them, an astronaut on the ISS could tell that Willie and Alex were flirting. They also thought their plans today were a date. Alex wasn’t convinced about either.
Willie had invited him to come to his favourite museum, so maybe that was a good sign. He had said he wanted to show him something and that it was important that they’d be in the museum shortly before it closed. Alex had no idea why and it made him a little nervous. Willie sometimes liked to… stretch the rules a little, while Alex usually followed rules just to avoid any awkwardness or conflict.
He trusted Willie though- something about being with him made him almost fearless. The only other thing that could do that was performing with his friends. No matter how bad his stage fright got, as soon as they started playing, all his anxiety went away.
Willie’s incredibly cool and calm disposition had a similar effect, especially when he smiled at him. Willie’s smile was amazing and always made Alex’s heart beat a little faster in a non-anxious way.
Willie arrived and smiled at him with exactly that smile, which made Alex less nervous, but also excited for what was to come.
Smiling back at Willie, he said, “Hey, thanks for inviting me. So what exactly are we doing here so close to the museum closing?”
