Javan Mongoose (Herpestes javanicus)

Conservation Status- Least Concern

Habitat- Southeast Asia; Indonesia

Size (Weight/Length)- 700 g; 27 cm

Diet- Insects; Crabs; Small mammals; Birds; Eggs

Cool Facts- The Javan mongoose is a smaller species of mongoose but is no less fierce. They tend to be solitary but males may create small groups and live together. Females will only encounter males during the mating season where the male has no part in raising offspring. Females give birth to up to 5 babies who reach maturity and leave their mother after 4 months. These mongoose are fearless when it comes to their diet. Venomous scorpions, deadly spiders, large crabs, and small mammals are all on the menu despite Javan mongoose’s small size. Due to the illegal pet trade, Javan mongoose populations are decreasing. This pet trade also results in the Javan mongoose escaping and becoming invasive in places such as Europe.

A solitary Suzi. I always forget to mention that she's into karaoke, which is funny because it's absolutely a hobby she would only want a select few to know about so I like the idea that the creation is subtly making the creator repeatedly forget it about it too lol
