“WHEN THE WHOLE WORD STARTS TO GET DARK”
— Javier García x Reader.
PLOT; Javier keeps trying and trying to keep (Reader/Name) safe and secure in base, but all Reader was to do is help Richmond in its crisis. Leads to a lover’s quarrel.. (yes, it is inspired by how he treats Kate.)
“You need to stay.” Javier’s voice echoes in the small apartment where he has confined (Reader), who is the subject of the current argument.
“I need to help them, Javi! I cannot just stay here and watch them suffer when it is our fault!” (Name) argues, on the verge of pacing. “Just because it might be our fault does not mean you go and— and put yourself in danger! Dios, I need you here.” He pleaded, mentally close to begging for her just to stay put.
“I cannot just leave people in danger, I just cant— Its my conscience, Javi!” (Name) nearly cried, she was horribly upset. How could she not be? She isnt being allowed to help when she so desperately wants to. “(Name!) I need you to stay here, where you are safe— where nothing can hurt you!”
“Javi— I cant! Don’t put me in a cage, people need me! I-“ (Name) turned, grabbing her handgun and bag of medical she got awhile ago from Eleanor.. back when they were close, before the whole Richmond.. debacle.
(Name) moved for the door, intending to somehow leave the flat with force, though, she knew she wasnt nearly as strong as the ex-baseball player she’s arguing with.
“Dios— No!” Javier yelled, moving to grab (Name)’s wrist, catching her just before she slipped to the doorway. “Please,” He pleaded.
“This is bull, Javi! I just told you, I cannot stay here, leave all those people to die from our own act—“ She had started to stirup again, but Javi had just had enough. She wouldn’t listen to his words.
Don’t actions speak louder than words?
And suddenly, Javi pressed his lips to (Name)’s own, just a short one. Enough to make the rant (Name) was about to go on, to end. And he pulled away, still as concerned as before.
“Please.” He said once more and the frustrated look on (Name)’s face slowly melted into something akin to a worried understanding. “I know— I.. You have to tell me that you will help those people— If I cant you have to, for me.” She conceded and Javi nodded immediately, agreeing to her deal.
“I will, I swear.” He promised, “Do you truly swear?” She tested. And he said yes while inching her to the couch. She sat down and sighed, Javier gave her one more kiss on the cheek before taking her items and carrying them himself. Solidifying earlier promise.
And then the ma left, the woman sat. Waiting, and praying he truly listened and would.
