Jason peers over Roy’s shoulder, where he’s amending the latest version of The List. “No fucking way,” he snorts. “Why is Superman on there?”

Roy gives him a terribly disappointed look. “The fact that you don’t think you could bag him is exactly why he should be on the list.”

Or: Jason doesn’t think he’s worthy of Clark. Roy conspires with Clark to show Jason that he is. It works a little too well.

On the one hand they could be sickeningly sweet and do missionary while staring deeply into each other's eyes. And that would probably be very healing to both their souls.

But I enjoy the other options more.

Clark is unlikely to go for someone so much younger than him without a lot of provocation. But that's Jason's specialty. His goal in life is to make Clark lose control, and according to the bruises on his hips and a cracked wrist he's doing wonderfully. Clark was horrified and ready to submit himself to castration via Bruce, but Jason had to be an overly pleased brat about it and then Clark has to get him to shut up somehow and well... That's not unlike how they got into this mess in the first place.

It's also fraught because Clark can never bring Jason home to meet his mom, because Martha would either cry or try to kill him for touching someone so young. Jason desperately wants to hang out with Lois, but she'd also shoot Clark point blank. And Bruce is almost definitely already planning his downfall.

But he also can't give it up. Jason has never treated him like a god or something larger than life or too pure to sin or even like an alien that can't be trusted. He's just a man to him. A dirty man, but a man nonetheless.

And Jason, well... Good people don't keep someone like him around. They just don't. He's never the one people choose. Especially not someone as perfect as Superman. He's going to dirty up that perfect brightness, but if he's going to be tossed aside eventually anyway, then he might as well have fun first.

And as time goes by and Clark's still there... Jason has never been very good at letting go.

roy- roy harper/arsenal

when Jason was robin in the 80s he teamed up with roy like once or twice and with batman he worked with superman like two or three times maybe. as far as i know superman and roy have never teamed up and for jason currently superman only makes cameo appearances. they barely know each other.

jason and roy as of like 2012 are best friends. prior to that they didn't know each other too well but that got retconned (and maybe retconned again, they're currently like estranged kinda? they had a short reunion last year) and they had a team up comic in 2016 i think called red hood/arsenal.

so i like crack ships

my shipping them started because i was watching the cw smallville show and went "i wanna fuck clark" which is not possible and quickly turned into "JASON should fuck clark" which turned into "and also roy is there"

the appeals/dynamic for me is "jason maximizes pissing off as many bats as possible with one polycule". clark is Bruce's age & friend while roy is Dick's age & friend so he's stealing them (add bart for Maximum fun bc he's Tim's age & friend). also it's younger man/older men. clark is the "voice of reason", roy like arguing with them, jason enjoys being able to sulk and having real support from guys who really love him.

5. Night in headcanon

= Clark makes dinner. Roy tries to and burns it, Jason offers to make dinner but very quickly starts ordering Clark around and Clark is like "Go take a seat." so Jason and Roy argue about what to watch while Clark cooks. Sometimes they just order pizza and snack on popcorn while they watch movies. Sometimes they have all their kids over (Lian, Jon, etc) and play board games. But rest assured there will cuddling on the couch under a blanket.

6. Night out headcanon

= Roy asks them to go to a strip club, As a Bonding Experience, Jason says no, and Clark can't fathom the idea (lie). Jason wants to go a table top roleplaying night, and Clark thinks they should go out to a nice restaurant. They eventually settle for going driving and walking around a park together buying random foods and drinks from vendors.

9. How friends/family of the couple react

= Jason's family is overly protective.... Of Roy and Clark. Roy's family doesn't Get It, but are happy for them none the less, and Clark keeps his personal life pretty much on the DL, but when his ex-wife Lois finds out she teases him relentlessly about it. Bruce keeps offering Jason money to stay away from Clark, Dick launches an in depth investigation on Jason's intentions and keeps begging Roy to go back to Jade even. Tim and Kon pull somewhat of a parent trap in trying to ensure Jason doesn't becomes Kon's step-dad and Clark doesn't become Tim's brother-in-law. They're like "okay if we both try to sabotage" and then they fail miserably like the cringe lords they are.
