Not His Padmé

It was a group night out. Jason had fast talked her into it, even had helped her pick out the clothes for the night and she felt pretty for a change, Jason had said she was the prettiest woman ever. That was a lie, but she wouldn’t lie about the way he made her heart flutter with that bit of honest flattery. In a red dress, and her hair done up in curls she felt lovely.

Dating Jason had… well she had known that no matter how serious it could be they’d never be anything genuinely real. There was no real shot for them, but Jason had boosted her confidence up wonderfully, she would even admit that. The sex… that was something she hadn’t expected; sex with Jason, despite her never actually touching him or seeing his body; was an intense, full body experience which would have her unravelling and surprisingly it had… it had boosted her confidence. Jess hadn’t noticed it immediately but she noticed the anxiety, and the stress with the depression, while they were all there still they weren’t this great looming weight threatening to drop on her with no warning and for her to endure alone, Jason was always there.

Jessica smiled a bit at her boyfriend who was happily engaged with a conversation she wasn’t privy too with the love of his life. She wasn’t a fool, she had never once, since asking her out, who held his heart, who was his heart. Jessica couldn’t fault Jason for not ever loving her, she didn’t love him, she loved Simon. A silver woman walked into her line of sight and sat down, her blue eye was piercing, and her angular features were strikingly square even as she sat.

“I’m sorry, that seat is taken,” Jessica stammered out.

“I know,” she smiled, her red lips curved like a viper then. “But I’m here for you.”

“What?”

“Mind?” the woman pulled a cigarette from her clutch then. Jessica pointed nervously at the sign for no smoking. “I don’t give a fuck,” she shrugged as she lit it.

“Can… Can I help you?” Jessica asked, her anxiety was ramping up, everything about this silver vixen screamed danger. It was the same look in Jason’s eyes which had Jessica knowing she was sitting with a predator, her own ring was pulsing as her anxiety levels were rising rapidly.

“I’m here, because of you,” she said. “I’ve known Jason for a long time. You, I don’t know, and you are in his life.”

“Are you an ex?” Jessica sputtered, the indignity of being confronted by a fellow ex, it was absurd.

“I’m the complication, Rose Wilson,” she smiled like a wolf as she exhaled smoke; looking elegant and out of place at the restaurant. Rather like Jason was currently out of place with his hat on low to hide his face, but still in a tux. He was more relaxed though with Raven currently.

“Mmm, what do you want Rose?” Jess asked; rather proud that her voice didn’t waver.

“I’m Jay’s guardian angel,” Rose said. “I’m here to warn you that if you hurt him, there is no place in the galaxy you can hide from me. I will find you, and I will hurt you.”

“I-I-I don’t think I can hurt him,” Jessica sputtered in shock at the fierceness of what the woman had said. Rose took another drag of her cigarettes then. “I… Neither… O diablos, Jason and I, we’re, we’re not serious. I… He’s helping me, I’d like to think I’m helping him.”

“Helping how?”

“I’m… I… I’m in love,” Jessica whispered. “But… I-I, he’s my best friend and I don’t have… experience in… dating, for reasons.” Jess was rather nervous about admitting that she was using Jason to conquer her baggage. She didn’t want to overwhelm Simon when she overwhelmed herself so often. And Simon did not approve of Jason, Jason was the living embodiment of a bad boy, a true warrior, a lethal weapon, and worse, he was cunning. But Jason was a help, he was a man who’s company she enjoyed, who she could trust with her body and mind, and the immense baggage that came with her.

“You’re using him?”

“It’s not like that. And I think he’s using me too,” Jess softened seeing Jason smile as he and Raven were collecting the drinks for their party. Most of whom were on the dance floor, enjoying the night, the only reason she wasn’t was because she had broken her ankle on her last GL mission.

“So you know?”

“Know what?”

“Know his ride or die.”

“She’s his Padmé,” Jessica whispered softly. She found it endearing even if those two hadn’t caught onto it.

“Uh…” Rose stared at her with a wide eye and a limp cigarette hand. “Excuse me!? Are you… dooming them!? Do you know how fucking hard I’ve worked at that not happening!?” Rose sputtered.

“NO! No! No! Not what I meant!” Jessica rushed. “She’s the woman he’d destroy the universe for if anything happened to her. But why do you care?”

“Cause, I fucked up once, let him down,” Rose said softly. “We never loved each other, but there’s an understanding between us. And I won’t be failing him again.”

“You’re…”

“He’s my greatest what if, and he’s a friend; of sorts. Utter asshole, but a friend.” Rose shrugged.

“He’s my greatest help,” Jessica whispered. “And he’s a friend, of sorts.”

“Be careful with him,” Rose whispered.

Jason was back then with the food and frowned as he arched a brow then. “Rose.”

“Fellow asshole,” Rose smiled.

“I’m in a relationship and busy, scram.”

“Don’t worry, darling, I only came to see how you were.”

“Uh-huh, the answer is no, now get.”

“Remember what I said,” Rose warned her.

“I know what you said, and I can’t,” Jessica said softly. She couldn’t hurt Jason, she didn’t have his heart, his heart was in the hands of someone else. That someone was a demi-demon who wouldn’t hesitate to annihilate whatever threatened him, a woman who would go to war for him and had his back no matter the cost, his Queen who picked him no matter what. Jessica was not that woman, they were a moment and propping each other up to their loves, she knew this and she was sure Jason knew this too.

“Whatever the hell she said I apologize, Rose has no filter between her mouth and a dumpster.”

“It’s fine,” Jessica smiled.

“No it’s not,” Jason stated firmly as he sat across from her.

“It is Jay,” Jessica promised. She studied Jason again, he was watching the dance floor and she watched him watch Raven. She hoped Simon would like that at her when they got together.

For now, she would learn what it was like to have someone helping her bear the brunt of her baggage. She needed… she needed to learn this. Jason was a patient teacher, even if he did not aspire to share his own baggage and insecurities with her. She knew going into this though that she would never have that with him, for now though, he was helping her bear her load so she could learn to carry it on her own and to trust Simon with all of it. Jason was a patient teacher for her, and for this, she was eternally grateful to him.

“You can join them,” Jessica offered.

“Nah, I have the prettiest girl here, who has… Pokemon Go! On… what is that?” he asked.

“Oh! There’s one near by!” She smiled.

“Come on,” he chuckled standing to offer her his hand.

“Really?” she gasped.

“Yeah, they won’t mind,” Jason said smiling as he waved off Raven and she took his hand. Raven waved them off as she danced with one of the Bats; Duke. Jason helped her into her coat as he offered her his arm, she linked them, and leaned on him as her booted foot throbbed. However, she ignored it as she opened her app and dragged him with her to go find the pokemon.

They weren’t ever going to be serious, she knew this, but he truly might be the best decision she had ever made before she pursued Simon.

AH! Mama mia!! this one was difficult D: ! I'm glad I was able to finish it though :D! Pretty proud of the results^^ though looking at Jay's skin, I'm thinking of Shrek XD

Anyways, Jay's clothing was one hell of a thing to come up with !! I mean, goblins are almost all the time in rags or just a piece of fabric to hide the private parts, and thinking about the fashion taste of Tyshea, she wouldn't just put Jay in those I guess. So looking at her fantasy races designs, I thought that some gladiator thingy mixed with something else would be great for Jay, though I didn't noticed how buff I made her XD

Jess was easier since there was some reference from Tyshea, so something similar would be good in my opinion (°v°)
