HAPPY ACE DAY!!

I drew some of my ace characters to celebrate

So I got a Star Wars OC Bingo card to play with. First one I decided to do was the Deamon AU, (Golden Compass) but with in universe animals rather than our animals. So have Jayk and Voc with their Howler Deamons Brick and Haa’it. There was the instinctual moment of “how many of them with the same deamon is too much?” And stuck with no more than two or three repeats. Maybe one day I’ll draw everyone else with theirs.

Magma times with @erradox! Mostly me taking over the whole page with our characters (and also two little Loops from In Stars and Time because I am, in fact, stuck in a loop)

A wet cat focused hangout with @erradox and @burbled! Featured a bit of discussion of where on the wet cat scale different characters fall. Very important stuff.

So you get a two for one on this one. The Bodyguard prompt had me thinking. My first round was Bodyguard Spades, cause he is already very Guard Dog Coded. I was thinking Mafia/Overlord Desha with the unwaveringly faithful Spades, from a family that takes pride in being the best of the best hitmen/hunters/guards. Spades is the oldest of the third generation (Jango, then the Commandos and Big Name Clones, then his family tier) with Voc and Airlock as his little brothers, the rest of the boys as even younger cousins and niblings.

But having the clones be the guards felt so done and dated, so I kept their family hierarchy that I built in my head and made them the overlords and Desha the guard dog!

Both results are lovely, so enjoy!

I wanted to play with modern clothing, so I pulled the boys into a fashion show. Building something that reflected their personalities was a little harder than I had originally anticipated. I hadn’t realized how much I relied on changing bodies to reflect character. This was a good lesson. Scopes and his warm neutrals and soft textures. Sprays and his wild colors and layers. I’m still not sold on Voc’s outfit, the hat feels right, and the skull hoodie. The more cyberpunk pants feel…. Not wrong, but not right? Airlock however is spot on, worn leather jacket and beloved knit sweater. Last is Rings and Jayk, Rings is all soft comfy academia, and Jayk has his little skater vibes. I’m happy with them all. Especially Jayk and Rings.
