In light of the new update, it occurred to me that I had some sketches and stuff piled up that I could share! All of these fall under the fanart category and are not plot relevant.

I actually want to highlight the way PCL handles the cult aspect of the story, more specifically on Jayne's front.

Most of society, when thinking about cults or cult behaviour in media, has gotten used with the stereotypical "satanic cult" so to speak. Hooded figures, plans to bring back the lord of darkness to destroy the earth. Yk, the usual. Heck, i myself have also fallen on that pit (glances at my two projects centered around that very trope). And i personally dont think its wrong that such is the case WHEN IT COMES TO MEDIA.

But PCL does such an incredible job on showcasing how and why cults are so horrific.

Jayne, for all her faults, was her own person. Loved to draw, longed for connection, had an affinity for graphic horror, used zines as her way of expressing her deepest thoughts and feelings. And there is, of course, the fact that she's trans, which at least to me and following the themes and symbolism of PCL overall, is important to mention as part of what makes her an individual. All of these points are just the tipo of the iceberg that makes Jayne herself.

Which is why its so haunting to read how all of that is ripped away.

Her longing for companionship is weaponized against her to make her detransition. She is forced to leave her art behind and when she fights back the cult begins to think of a way to use her passion to hurt others. Time and time again she is whittled down from being Jayne Prell into just being a member of the cult, and i cannot overstate how chilling this moment was.

Jayne wasn't perfect. But the path foward wasnt losing herself.

You know, when i finished reading the Content Warning pages, i feared that Jayne would've died.

This is so much worse for her.

People in the Esteemed Gallery:

so before anything I will state what I think. I think this is the gallery that Slishy and Sadie went to in December of 2025. When Slishy snuck off for a bit she went to look at a picture Jayne made and met all these people.

Then later on, a few days later, seems to have burnt the museum down.

so here's everyone

1-the security officer of the gallery who once the museum is burnt down in blamed for it and Canned since he's the only one who smokes that works there despite being sick for 2 days and not being there when it burnt down.

2-This is a student that went to art collages with Jayne and considered her a good "friend". So he came to view her art and mourn since she's went missing.

3-Ronnie a gallery worker who slishy runs into when she went to look at Jayne's art. Someone seems to have been stealing her mail, and she is isolate more and more freaking out about it. Slishy find her and offers to help her feel heard again for a ticket to the art gallery. When it works out she gives her mail to give to people all around, and Ronnie does so getting more in touch with people and loving the mail giving more than her receptionist job.

4-Okay so this ins Quinn. He is an abusive man who is sexist and likes to both abuse women, and make art of them cut up into tiny pieces. He runs into Slishy who has been stealing his art from the museum later at night. If I had to guess he was killed, then Slishy burnt down the museum.

5-The janitor of the art gallery who has been reporting vandalisms where art is slightly rotated or moved from their locations which no one seems to care about. Since everyone is ignoring him, Murray is becoming disillusioned with his job. The day before the art gallery is burnt down, Slishy leaves him with a letter stuffed with affirming affirmations of visitors and enough goods that he could retire. So he calls in sick the next day and plans to retire only to miss the whole place burning down.

6-Mauve, who is in love with a character in a painting and believes they are dating. But, someone has stollen the painting which she mentions to a worker.

7-The gallery owner, Elliot Blackwater. His first art was sold to the cult Jayne seems to have joined. Yet, they only like gore. Infact all anyone wants is his gore work. So now his art hung up in this gallery dedicated to gore. But, after everything burns down he starts making art he wants instead of what sells. Yet, he saw Slishy somehow during the gallery burning down so he starts painting what he wants starting with her

So stories in order if I gas to guess:

-Ronnie's mail goes missing

-I believe Slishy starts breaking into the museum and slightly changing things.

-The Janitor notices small defacing of arts with paintings being at angle and move to new locations.

-the curator ignores his concerns though

Day 1 of the 2 important days happens:

-Then the security man calls in sick for the first time

-Ronnie meets the slasher, who has decided she wants to see the art in the day time with her partner one last time.

-that night slishy steals some art and some cash from around the gallery..

-The next day Slishy takes Saddie to the art gallery, but sneaks a way to

-Then soon Mauve comes to see her beloved, "Flea" and notices she has left. She reports it to all.

-Jayne's old classmate comes to pay his respect at the same time and see her art for un-knowingly the last time to grieve her.

-Then before she leaves SLishy leaves cash for the Janitor to be set up in life.

Then day 2 happens:

-The security man's second sick day happens

-the Janitor calls in sick

-Ronnie has quit this day

-Quinn comes to the museum to see if he can find who is stealing his art and runs into Slishy. Slishy kills him and sets the building on fire.

-Eliot was coming to the gallery to do the same

When the gallery burns down it looks like this:

And that's what I think happened with the gallery bit and how all eventgs in it have occurred in order!
