Do you have any Hc's of Brooke and Jackie being friends from s1 on,preferably without jealousy involved ?

This is such an interesting concept, both being friends since season 1. 

Brooke is two years Jackie’s senior and was friends with Donna, so in this AU we could work with the idea that maybe, Donna met Brooke through Jackie who may have gone to Brooke for help in school.

We know in season 2 to 3 that Jackie has good grades and considers having them important, kinda like part of her image. I can totally see her seeking for help, especially from other girls. 

Maybe she wanted help from a popular girl in especific at the beginning, but the girl turned out to be an ass and while she was frowning at her, Brooke got to her like, “you know, it’s not that difficult. Just look at this this way…” and bam! Jackie now follows her around with questions because she always hyperfixates on people who is nice to her.

So, while Jackie tries to befriend Donna, she gets adive from Brooke and soon introduces both girls. Donna being impressed Jackie is friends with BROOKE ROCKWELL and all, it kinda offends Jackie and Brooke believes she is rude, it may help her realize earlier how unfair she was to Jackie and how much in contradicts her own beliefs of equality and so.

The three of them being friends would had been such a dream, and as for Kelso and his relationship with both, Jackie and Brooke. I believe it’s almost impossible for jealousy to not be involved when it comes to early season Jackie and Kelso.

But because Brooke has been her friend before she started to date Kelso, she may be able to get into Jackie’s skull that hey, he is disgusting an I have zero interest in him.

Thsis may also give a little bit of more context to what happens between Brooke and Kelso years later. Jackie wouldn’t feel offended or betrayed, but angry at Kelso for getting her friend pregnant and would incist, alongside Hyde and the others, for him to take responsibility.

Hell, she being Betsy’s godmother would be so obvious-- Eric and Donna would no stand a chance on that.

A little detail I love is that we are told and shown Jackie didn’t actually enjoy sex with Kelso. 

She is a very sexual and active person, which is awesome by its own because most females that are shown like this, are put in a negative light (yest, i’m ignoring season 8 again), but in the show both, Donna and Jackie, mention they do enjoy, they love, sex and are very active.

We have Jackie only having experience with Kelso before her relationship with Hyde, and while she enjoys sex, we are also told most times, she doesn’t enjoy with Kelso or like Kelso thinks. Not because she doesn’t like sex, but because she isn’t so into it with him.

In season 6, he tells Jackie he used to give her tons of pleasure and she makes this face:

Jackie isn’t only disgusted by the remark, that was make in public, in front of Hyde, but she also looks like him like asking, “are you damn fucking serious?” because no, she never, EVER, expresses to actually do like what she experiences with Kelso.

If so, even the times she is the one telling him, “no, we can’t go there with our friends because we are having sex tonight”, she doesn’t seem happy nor ready for more like we see Eric/Donna and Red/Kitty (and Hyde and his date for the week).

She actually rolls her eyes every time he asks for it, or more like, demands it. And then, we see in the earlier seasons that Kelso lasts less than 2 fucking minutes. For a dude that believes himself so good in bed and who gets to nail tons of girls, we are also told he is the typical guy that feels like if every girls owes him something for existing and is actually bad in bed.

I’m actually sure the only part Jackie did enjoy of being intimate with him was the connection she wanted to find, which is probably why she did slept with him after all. She did love him in a way, and she relates sex to love and intimacy.

Which leans us to Hyde,

Hyde and Jackie are intimate in a wonderful way that not even Eric and Donna got. We know they have had sex and we know that Hyde is more experienced than any of his friends, that he enjoys sex a lot and is active, if not even a little bit more, as Jackie. Which already makes him a perfect match for her, because he also has something Kelso doesn’t: RESPECT.

In season 5, we learn Jackie’s mom has abandoned her little after her dad was put in jail. Hyde gives her his bed and his arms so she won’t be alone at night in her big ass ridiculous house. He makes it clear that they were just sleeping, she needed a safe place to stay and he gave it to her because he loves her and respects her, and cares about her.

The way Hyde sees Jackie is not only, you know, normal and healthy, it’s full of love and admiration. We know Jackie and Hyde are having sex, we know it. We didn’t need to see them naked in bed like with Eric and Donna, Kelso and Angie, we just knew.

In the way the touched when the scene wasn’t about them, the way they spoke to each other and about the other to someone else, even in little details like Jackie almost telling Kitty that Hyde knows about the bees and birds, because they are making love.

There’s no place for jokes about it, either. Because Hyde isn’t bad in bed, nor is awkward like Eric, and Jackie doesn’t need to use sex to control him, like she advices Donna to do in earlier seasons, like we saw her doing to Kelso for a year before they did it for the first time, and then for months after she took him back.

I believe this is why we, JH shippers, take Jackie’s point of view into headcanons, or more like, fanon: sex is sacred for them, it’s a way to be connected, they show their feelings for the other like this. There is no one else they want because their lust is even driven by love.

And I love that the show, whatever it wanted it or not, gave this to us. That even sex is better with Hyde for Jackie, because he is The One.

I loved what you said about Hyde's clothes, what do you think Jackie's say about her?

Jackie’s clothes say a lot about her. I wrote about my headcanon/meta about it in my last fanfic, Until We Get There:

What she wore was always important. She talked about who she was through her clothes and showed the world what she wanted it to know, how much she wanted it to know. And this dress, it trapped her into a shape she wasn’t and in a color she didn’t like. It made her look like someone she no longer was.

That out of the map, let me tell you that I love how Jackie’s clothes were so extra during season 1. She wore from three to four and five layers of clothes in one look in some episodes that were during and after winter, and there is episodes were she had three changes of clothes.

It says tons of who she is back then, a shallow girl that cares so much about her image, her closet is bigger than what people think her heart may be. Which is bullshit because we know later that all these layers of clothes are only a mask to not let go of who she really is, because she knows that girl will never be accepted in her social circle.

We, zenmasters shippers, tend to say that Jackie changed for good with Hyde. And while it’s true, I think it all started with her growing friendship with Donna and Kitty’s influence. Jackie searches for the company of other woman, better examples than her mother I believe. And as she grows in the show, so does her closet in a interesting way.

In season 2, Jackie wears much of the same, but the layers are least. She wears jeans, shirts and her coat over it. Sometimes four, a dress with a shirt under it, jeans and her coat, and so on. But is less and less, by season 3, is so much less, it’s incredible.

Her clothes while with Hyde, though, are always less Extra™. I think that during her infatuation with him from season 2-3, it was in a way to show him she can be simple and match him in some sort, but it’s also because she is starting to learn it’s not about how many fancy names she is wearing, but how comfortable she is with herself that makes her looks be more amazing.

My favorite time for Jackie’s looks is in season 5, when she wears beautiful dresses that probably made Hyde fell easier for her. But because this is the most uncovered we see her (without counting the times we see her in a bathsuit, I mean) and it says a lot about her during this time. It’s a time for growing for her, and we do know that women in love tend to look even more beautiful than they are.

Happiness suits a person even better than any shoe made especially for them. Love is our best look and the best looks of Jackie come in during season 5, 6 and even in season 7 (wow, can we please talk how fucking beautiful she looks with her shirt hair, her bangs and the times she was at Grooves, like, that shades of dark purple sweater that matches Hyde’s black shirt of sex? Amazing).

Another thing I love of Jackie’s dressing code is her jewerly and how discret it is. One may think that with all that money and desire to be noticed, she would wear more look-at-me things, but she never does. Her butterfly pendand, her double heart pendand, her small ring, all of it it’s discret and looks nice. It reminds us that there’s something people is not seeing.

I don’t know, man… Clothes say a lot about people, and it certainly says tons about Jackie.

how do you think is jackie's relationship with the rest of the burkharts?

She grow up spoiled shitless, so my guess is that the rest of her family must be like this. We are also told that she got Kelso to know her grandmother, which means she is one of those people who like their partner meeting their extended family when dating for months. Why I’m mentioning this? Because this indicate she may be, to some level, a home-y person.

Jackie’s relationship with her father is of great admiration. She probably hero-worshiped him because he was never really present but seemed tall and hard working, and was “the man of the house”, always providing for her and her mother. So I think she may actually have a goo relationship with the rest of the Burkharts.

Most times, I write Jackie as an only grandchildren since I often write Jack as an only child; while her family from Pam’s side is more colorful in the sense that there’s more people and I also headcanon Pam and her family as a middle-up class, not much of a high-class family.

So, she has a good realtionship with the Burkharts and may be not so close the Pam’s family for desicion of her.

Now in more headcanon territory. I had grandma Brukhart to be named Beulah, which would explain her ugly ass name. She’s kind of a cold person, extra fancy and educated, but she does loves Jackie. Jack often says his kitten looks like his mother. Her grandfather, Charles, died when she was too young to remember him all that good.

But Jack has cousins to who he is kind of close, since he didn’t have siblings. I have came out with uncle Barney, who lives in Seattle and is a lawyer. He is nice in his own way and always says ‘hi’ to Hyde when they see each other. He’s married to aunt Mimi (Miriam) and have two children (boys, one older than her –Matthew– and the other of her age, David).

Later in life, in my ‘A Guide to Domestic Life by the Zenmasters’ verse (that is the same verse as the ‘Pillow Talks’ and the ‘What Cosmo Didn’t Say’ ficlets series), Jackie names her first child after her cousin David, who was her first best friend while growing up. Dave Hyde’s second name is William, like Hyde’s biological father, but also like her grandfather from Pam’s side who was always nice to her.

From Pam’s side, she has an aunt who I haven’t named, who is married and has a girl. The girl is way younger than Jackie, but she likes her, and the girl likes Hyde a lot. Pam is the older on her siblings. The middle child is uncle Richie (Richard), he never married nor had children because he is gay, and his family lowkey rejects him. 

Like, they are with him and talk to him and all, but if he has a boyfriend, they introduce him as a friend or even a cousin. Pam and Jack actually decided for Jackie to not see her uncle as much, which sucked because Richie and Jackie have a great relationship.

He always made sure she was okay, called every week to talk to her, buy her nice stuff she actually liked or wanted, made her read, teach her to ride a bike, he was always there. But she never knew why her parents didn’t let her stay as much with her uncle.

Once older and out her house, Richard invites her to dinner at his place. She’s really excited and takes Hyde, and all that. That’s when she met his partner, Griner, who is an awesome chef (Richard is book’s editor); she finally realized why her dad didn’t want her so much with Richard and she got so mad, she went to see Jack to jail to yell at him.

After that, she has a great relationship with uncle Richie. Her younger daughter in ‘A Guide’ has Rachel as a middle name in honor of uncle Richard. Hyde chose both his daughter’s names, but she chose their middle names. He also has a good relatioship with Richard and Griner.

He appreciates Richie a lot because he realized, without Jackie telling him, that he was the only one in that family that was actually looking after her.

And what if it had been Jackie the one dating someone outside the gang in season 4?

[We are talking about if the gang would had been ok with the girls dating boys outside their group when they broke up with their respective couples]

If we are talking about season 2-3, when she had broke up with Kelso, everyone, even Donna, would had been very happy. You are forgetting Jackie was never truly welcomed in the gang.

She went to being Kelso’s annoying girlfriend, to be someone Fez wanted to fuck and Hyde to protect, to be Donna’s “best friend” and then Hyde’s annoying girlfriend. This is how they truly saw her, and we know it.

Donna would had supported her and make sure the dude in question wasn’t an ass. But knowing how Jackie was at the time, I’m worried the kind of person she would had dated. I mean, look at this Chip guy and the cheese guy in season 4, lol. Like Jackie, my girl, you deserve so much more. Don’t settle down for catfish.

Anyway, Hyde would had also been ok. Or more like *fake smile* ok. He lowkey hated JackieAndKelso together once again during season 3-4, so he would probably be first in kind of awe at Jackie’s new relationship because, let’s face it, he kinda had feelings for her so he would be like :lllll

But this also depends on something: is this before the kiss in JBH or after? If it’s before, maybe he won’t be like this. Maybe he would be glad Jackie is truly moving on. And maybe having her for less more time a day will make him realize he misses her and oh shit.

If it’s after, LMAO, he would be lowkey doing faces at this, especially because knowing Jackie, she would try and spend most of her time with her new boyfriend, which means no basement. In fact, that’s when I think the real grow may come.

She would miss Donna and Hyde. She would even miss the rest of the idiots, too. By this point her only real friends are Donna and Hyde (Fez doesn’t count because he started to treat her like crap after he realized she isn’t interested in him during ‘Ice Shack’ And Kelso? LMAO, he would be bitter as fuck, wanting to make her break up with the new dude. Eric wouldn’t care), and she would miss being with them, especially Donna.

Her only option is to tell her boyfriend she wants him to spend time with her friends, but if by some kind of miracle the guy has better friends? Well, lmao, goodbye then.

It may had changed a lot of things, if that would had happened. Because Jackie and Fez were the outsiders at the begining, and Fez gets a place quickly, she has to fucking fight for it. And even after years of knowing each other and so, there’s always this feeling like Jackie is only allowed as long as she is dating one of the guys/trying to date one of them.

The writers really wasted good chances with her and Donna’s friendship when she was single, when both were single. I dream of a season in which both had been single at the same time, and had learned they don’t need the boys, that love and relationships doesn’t define you.

It would had been nice.

Something that bothers me most times of the way people portraid Jackie in some fics, is that she’s a girl who thinks studying is for ugly people when the show actually showed she didn’t thought so.

In fact, the show told us she is a smart girl, straigh As student and lowkey wanted to go to college.

During season 2, this happens:

Donna answers Kelso by saying college is for girls that won’t want to give birth to the first idiot on their path’s moron children, which was a way to tell him he is that idiot and no smart girl would want to give birth to his kind, which was amazing.

But I want you all to look at Jackie’s face while he says this shit...

“College is for ugly girls”

“who can’t get moeling contracts”

Man, this is Jackie’s famous ‘eww’ face.

She’s disagreeing with him, even when she doesn’t have time to actually respond him since Donna snaps back perfectly. 

But for me, her face and body language says everything I need to know that Jackie does wants to go to collage and she doesn’t think Kelso is right (even when one of her dreams is to become a model).

Look at it this way: Her mother, before becoming an alcoholic, shallow and empty pretty shell, was a professional woman that was also the best at her job in all Kenosha County. Pam Burkhart was a working mom, and Jackie says this information during season 1 proudly.

That’s the Pam Jackie knew and grow up looking up to, and that’s why she is so sad and disappoined when, older and loneliner, she realizes her mother had left her down by literally abandoning her when she needed her the most. That’s also why she’s so mad at Pam in season 6, or part of it.

Pam gives up everything to be the trophy wife and becomes what the show tried to make out of Jackie, but her characterization didn’t allowe it. Maybe It’s Mila’s acting, but she gave us the answers we needed in these situations.

She sees her sad future in Pam, and suddenly she knows she wants to be on TV and she knows she wants a better future so desperatly, which could resonate in why she suddenly wants Hyde to assure her they will get married eventually.

When she discovers in season 7 that she can do good on her own, she probably still wanted to attend college, but we tend to forget that Jackie doesn’t have any money any more. She’s not a rich girl anymore. And she’s alone.

I mean, her mother takes the car and leaves her with nothing because she needed to “grief” that her daughter was going off to start her career. She has nothing.

For how I see it, maybe she never talked about college because she knew she couldn’t afford it and Jackie has one hell of a pride. She probably didn’t want anyone to feel pitty for her, and Hyde was probably the only one who knew how she felt about it. Maybe Donna, too.

So yeah, honestly, I can’t stand when people characterize Jackie as dumb pretty girl who can’t do shit without a man. It’s 2017, this crap needs to stop.

how do you think the summer went for Jackie when she was "deciding" between Hyde and Kelso?

You know, I don’t think much about this because I hate that arc. It’s ridiculous, she had nothing to decide as she herself says. She admits she’s in love with Hyde and Kelso is only an option because she doesn’t feel like if Hyde needs her and it’s nice to be needed (which I understand, but more on that later).

In-character-Jackie wouldn’t do that shit, man. I can totally see her telling Hyde that she needs time and space after what happened, and she would like to take the summer to think about it and then, they can talk again about their relationship. And he would accept, because this is Hyde, dude, he understands.

So if it was in character, I think she would still put, like, extra efford in her looks and spend most her time with Donna. I don’t think she would ignore Hyde (or Kelso, since he would probably be bothering her every day, until Hyde would probably frog him to dead or something), but she would try to not think about it.

Which wouldn’t work, lmao. 

Pool, Donna’s place, shopping, making Donna try to go shopping, actually going on shopping with Fez, basement a little. That kind of stuff, if she doesn’t go out with her cheerleader squad or the girl scouts, and so.

Eventually, she would end up having conversations with Hyde more often. Until she would notice that Donna is long gone, it’s almost 11 pm and she’s still down the basement talking with him.

any idea why Jackie said she didnt feel anything in Jackie Bags Hyde when she kissed Steven? She was chasing him for a while and then once she kissed him she was like "oh i felt nothing"

The real answer is that the writers thought ending that story line like that wasn’t going to left as many questions as it did. Who knows why they decided to break it that way. One of the many things went wrong.

The in universe answer may be something I think most of us agree, that she just couldn’t identify was what she was feeling in that moment, because it was too diferent from what she once felt while with Kelso.

It’s not familiar and we tend to get scared at unfamiliar stuff, especially when is too intense. My headcanon is that she felt numb after the explosion inside her belly, because honestly this kiss looks like the bomb:

The other option is that she just decided to lie because of the intensity of it. Again, she has been hurt many times before and she knows Hyde’s story with girls. He doesn’t date, he has a record of having the same girl for the long of a week. What tells her it could work out?

He rejected her a million times, and would had he said the truth? We know that there’s a big chance that he would, but she doesn’t. She needed the Kelso experience all over again to finally understand that she doesn’t need that shit, and that she needs to start trusting him and her instincts.
