Having all emailed JDO our elevator pitch and brief mood boards we sat down and had a meeting with JDO, to discuss and acknowledge one another’s idea’s, to gain feed towards our development with the project.
Individually discussing our approaches with two of the member’s from JDO we got the opportunity to see what our peers were up to and listen in on their feed back. Which was really useful to understand what JDO are really looking for.
When It came to my discussion, I explained my ideas and thought’s on the brief based on the mood’s board’s I created. Explaining to both member’s of the team that I was stuck and struggling with design development. As I feel my concept is strong and works well within the brief given, visual and graphic design approaches have felt difficult. Yet within the discussion both members of the team positively understood and responded to my concept and made suggestions of how I could approach the design. Both suggesting that I know focus on the design based purely on my ethos, by looking into how I can design based on a cost saving, Que. saving and interactive, creative approach. Explaining that I could really play on my approach to these elements of this brief within my design.
This has given me strength within my design idea’s and has now gotten me excited for my approach towards putting pen to paper and creating more deliverables for this brief.
One element that I really took away from this experience was aimed at a few of my peers; suggesting that the key point from you ‘Big Idea’ must communicated and needs to be specific towards the visuals swell as the concept. I’m really glad this was brought up as it is drilled into my brain that this is what they are looking for and that I need to complete a constant connection between Idea and Design. I also really appreciate the JDO team taking the time to complete this meeting with us as it is valuable tool towards developing my approach.
