In 2013, I made a short film called The Raining Tree ☺ This is the journey of that short film between 2013-2014. I haven't made a short film since then because I wanted to focus on exploring Indonesia. I decided to dedicate my artistic efforts to making fantasy and folk-lore stories inspired by Indonesia. Making the Raining Tree taught me that I lack one crucial ability.... marketing and publication hahaha I had no #producer (still don't huhu) that could help me push my short films to their full potential. Tapaleuk #6 Back in 2013, I made short drama/fantasy film called The Raining Tree. It's about a guy who wants to shut out the world underneath a tree that can pour rain from its canopy. I've always loved the #trembesi #tree that is near my grandparents house in #bandung . It always gives me a sense of awe and wonder. It feels like you're stepping into another world if you're underneath it. So I based the tree in my film on the trembesi. The trembesi was the only name for the tree that I know of when I finsihed the film. But then I wondered what other names it had... and as it turn out, the tree has many names, such as Albizia saman, Samanea saman, or... Ki Hujan... which means: The Rain Tree.
