Ten years ago today, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies premiered.
On the way to the final day of Fanboy Expo Orlando last fall, my daughter rescued a tiny kitten crossing the highway. The kitten created quite a stir in the LOTR photo op, where Sean immediately grabbed her for the photo. Later she got a chance to meet the Goonies, the LOTR actors, and even Weird Al Yankovic!! Martha provided some of her dog Walter‘s food. We managed to get a few pics! One pic shows the many lanes kitten crossed over in red, and where daughter pulled over to get her in blue!
She’s 6 months old now, lives with me, and her name is Eowyn because she is no man!
......was anyone going to tell me that Jed Brophy is currently actively doing a podcast (called Lucky Kiwi Podcast) about his experience making LOTR/The Hobbit, is interviewing ppl who worked on the film,, and is asking for fans to send in questions that they think hes never been asked before to be featured in the podcast???? h e l l o ? ? ?

The second coffee painting I ever did was of Nori the Dwarf. I loved painting the intricate hair, and the contrasting leather and suede of the clothes, but I had yet to find the method I now use with light and contrast.
I gifted the original painting to Jed Brophy, who played Nori in the hobbit trilogy. A year later, we met again at another convention, and ended up on the same plane from Sweden to London for the red carpet premiere of Battle of the Five Armies. Afterwards, I went straight to New Zealand for a few weeks of Hobbity goodness, and managed to run into him again by chance while in Wellington 😅
He sure seems to be a big Beecake fan, but who can blame him? 😂
