Katelyn couldn’t help that she felt awful.

Really, she couldn’t.

Her muscles felt heavy against the plush mattress provided by O’Khasis, unable to move around much due to the pounding sensation that rang through her head. 

Her body ran hot; sweating profusely through each sheet. And yet, every time she would rip the blanket off of her, chills would run down her arms and she’d have to cover herself once more.

Honestly, she just couldn’t win with this.

Out of nowhere while patrolling Pikoro, she fell ill, having to resign to her quarters until a replacement Jury member arrived.

Luckily enough, the only Jury member close enough to take her place was Jeffory, The Golden Heart.

Oh, Jeffory.

She had been ecstatic (or as ecstatic as a sick person could be) at his arrival. Yes, he ran straight to Katelyn’s quarters without question once he heard of her falling ill. 

The man truly had his priorities straight, as friends and family would always come first before his job.

He opened the door to Katelyn’s room quietly, not knowing if she was asleep or not. Jeffory closed the door silently with his boot as he held hot broth with a spoon in his hands.

He set them down on the nightstand beside her bed, before turning to pull up a chair besides her.

“You don’t have to be so quiet. You know I’m awake, right?”

Jeffory sighed, pulling along a chair to the side of her bed. “Of course it’s like you to not get proper rest while sick.” He chuckled, motioning for her to lean forward so she could eat. “I was so sure you had finally given in, but alas… Katelyn The Fire Fist is stronger than that, eh?”

Katelyn set herself upward, playfully punching Jeffory on the shoulder. “You know, if I wasn’t so incapacitated by this fever, I’d totally send you hurtling towards several hay stacks.” 

“I seriously doubt that.” Jeffory sang, lifting up the bowl of soup with one hand and the spoon in the other. “Now say, ‘ahhh’.”

He motioned the spoon towards her mouth, while Katelyn frowned and furrowed her brows. “You’re joking.”

He giggled at the sight. “Come on, just eat the soup! It’ll help you get better, you know!” 

Katelyn swiped away the bowl and spoon, beginning to sip on the broth herself. “I know that, genius. I’d just prefer it if you would let me eat on my own.”

After a few tiny sips, and then a bunch of large gulps, Katelyn had drained the bowl of its contents within a few moments. After handing the bowl back to Jeffory; who set it aside, Katelyn quickly fell back down onto her pillow with a sigh.

“Everything is so hot and cold… I’m dying over here!” She groaned, closing her eyes.

With that, Jeffory got up and left the room– leaving behind a very confused Katelyn.

He soon returned with a wet cloth in hand, smiling. “What? Did you really think I was going to abandon you so soon?”

Katelyn chuckled, snuggling into the blanket more. “I wish.”

Jeffory placed the wet cloth on her head, causing her to exhale softly at the cool damp cloth.

This was exactly what she needed.

As soon as he saw the satisfied smile on her face, he stood up and pushed the chair against the wall, ready to head out.

“Oh so now you’re leaving?”

“It seems like my job here is done, Ms. Fire Fist.” He grinned. “Besides, I have to take on your job, remember? I don’t want them to question my loyalty to Zane, after all.”

Katelyn groaned at that name. “That damn heir brat…” She looked over to see Jeffory snickering at the comment.

After coughing to clear his throat from laughter, he paced over to the door, opening it. “We have to do what we must, Katelyn. I hope to see you better soon.”

His eyes lingered on her form for only a moment, a feeling of comfort washing upon him as he looked upon her, before finally turning to walk out of the room.

“Hey, Jeffory!” Katelyn called out to him.

He turned back around from the doorway. “Yeah?”

“Good luck out there! You’re going to need it!’

Looks like she’ll be better in no time.

could I get a drabble/headcanons about Jeffory and Katelyn. they don't get enough love as a couple

a/n: hi anon! thank you for the request. I don’t know a lot about the dynamic between Katelyn and Jeffory since they didn’t get a bunch of screen time (not to mention I forgot the very little that the did) so I mostly went off of their characters and how they fit together for this. because of that there aren’t a lot and it’s probably super out of character for everyone, but I hope you enjoy it anyway :)

☾ walks in the park or just around the city is their ideal date, probably. I imagine Katelyn would enjoy the scenery because it’s calming to her, and Jeffory thinks it’s a great way to spend time with her since it also counts as exercise

☾ Katelyn’s dad really likes Jeffory, but Katelyn doesn’t like them being around each other because Eric brings up embarrassing stories and talks to Jeffory like he’s a family member

☾ on their first date Katelyn was shaking like a leaf because she wanted to be nice and appealing for him, but Jeffory told her to be herself because he likes that she’s fiery anyway. it made Katelyn smile and relax a bit

☾ what she didn’t know is on that same first date, Jeffory panicked on what to do and accidentally knocked a lit candle onto the picnic blanket. he omitted the candles but hoped that Katelyn didn’t notice the scorch marks behind her

☾ if they had gone to prom together in canon, then they probably would have left a bit before it officially started. they went to the front of the school and sat together by the fountain, just talking and looking up at the stars

☾ it was probably there that Jeffory said he wanted to get a bit more serious about their relationship and started talking about the future

☾ Katelyn, although at this time she was scared to get older and become an adult, found the idea of growing up a bit more bearable if Jeffory was doing it with her

☾ Jeffory have her an impromptu promise ring. he took a pen that had been hiding in his pocket and drew a circle around both of their ring fingers, promising to get them something better quality when he could

☾ Katelyn’s dad picked them up after prom ended, and dropped many jokes about dropping them off at a hotel while also telling Jeffory that if anything had happened then Eric would take care of him. Katelyn was bright red the whole time

☾ Jeffory sometimes sneaks to Katelyn’s house when she’s alone and vice verse. they don’t do anything, they just hang out and watch TV a lot of the time

☾ when they cuddle or just stand close together, Katelyn likes showing herself as the weaker one. she’s taller and more muscular than the average girl or woman, so she feels the need to live up to that. being with Jeffory makes her feel like she doesn’t have to all the time

this is probably suuper out of character but that’s okay. i’m still getting to know everything about the fandom again lol

More headcanons I have because I do a lot of thinking in my free time.

When Levin first said 'Dada' it was in the guard tower as Garroth had to bring him to a meeting while Zoey was busy.

All the guards were super happy and the meeting was forgotten as they decided celebrating was much more important than the meeting.

Laurance has bonding days with Malachi where they just hang out and Laurance answers many of Malachi's questions.

I've been thinking about the ages of Garroth and Laurance's children and I need to fix them 🥲

Levin: 0-3(first 'season'), 10-11(second 'season'), 13-14(third 'season')

Malachi: 900 years old in all seasons, physically- 5-8(first 'season'), 15-16(second 'season'), 18-19(third 'season')

Ari: 0-1(first 'season'), 8-9(second 'season'), 11-12(third 'season')

Celestine: Not born(first 'season'), 0-1(second 'season'), 3-4(third 'season')

Orion: Not born(first and second 'season'), 2-3(third 'season')

Garroth is very oblivious and Dante and Brian once made a bet on how long it would take for Garroth to realize Laurance's constant flirts

Brian won the bet as it had taken Garroth a year to realize when Laurance finally snapped that he had been flirting for a long time.

Dante lost 10 gold coins that day

When Garroth and Vylad reunited Garroth was full on sobbing and apologized for leaving without saying goodbye and that he couldn't protect him

Jeffory and Garroth are actually very good friends

Before Laurance and Garroth became a thing, Laurance dated Jeffory because his voice reminded him of Garroth, they stopped dating a month in because somehow they both admitted they liked Garroth

Jeffory said yes to being Laurance's boyfriend since he thought he'd be able to get over Garroth, it didn't help

Katelyn and Jeffory have a happy life together(sorry Travis)

Garroth has Shield Magicks and they get more powerful in his Edmund form

Garroth has decked people for being rude or overly flirtatious with his lady friends

Garroth's reason for turning to Zane's side is because he saw Laurance and Jeffory kissing like literally actually kissing, he hadn't realized they were in a relationship and got missed that Laurance and Jeffory didn't tell him out right and Zane convinced him into thinking Laurance and Jeffory didn't trust him enough to tell him, it was a break up kiss cause I'm making that a thing now.

After Laurance absorbed the relic in the Irene dimension and Zane tried to kill him, that's when Garroth started to become torn between the two sides and who had to protect. So he protected them both from each other for months before Laurance finally talked some sense into him

Dante and Zoey watch Levin and Malachi for Garroth and Laurance while they were in the Irene dimension

Travis thought Garroth was pretty hot when they first met, but knew it was meaningless to go after him.

There's a list of people who would've liked to be in a relationship w/ Garroth: Laurance, Jeffory, Blaze, Aaron, Aphmau, Katelyn, Travis and many others who refused to be named.

Garroth was only aware of Laurnace liking him, he was only aware because Laurance straight up told him

Jeffory eventually told Garroth about how he used to feel about him, they joke about it now

Katelyn and Jeffory now also joke about how they had the same taste in men at one point

One time Garrance and Jefflyn were trying to get under the mistletoe at the same time and then Jeffory and Garroth back up into each other

They had to kiss because Aphmau demanded it, rules are rules. Laurance and Katelyn were laughing their asses off at that point

Jeffory didn't mind, he'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it-

You know what, at one point Travis joins Jeffory and Katelyn's relationship.

KC and Aphmau are the shipping duo and they have OTP's they ship and fangirl together when any of their ships interact

Laurance and Jeffory used to complain to each other about how oblivious Garroth was.

They still do actually, Garroth just slightly less oblivious now

Jeffory and Laurance are the only ones who can keep up with Garroth, they're very proud of that

Jeffory almost beat Garroth once, until he had knocked off the blonde guards helmet and froze at the sight, Garroth gained the upper hand and pinned Jeffory to the floor

Jeffory can not get over that he got distracted during a fight and didn't get to ruin Garrorth's win streak

Dante would be a total Malewife, you can't deny that

You know who else is a dense motherfucker? Fucking Jeffory, we all knew from how he didn't realize Katelyn's crush on him

Garroth's comfort food is chocolate chip cookies, his mother used to bake them for him when he was sad

Jeffory's golden sword can turn people to gold when he injure them with it, it wears off once the wound is healed halfway

He's accidentally turned himself to gold once by pricking his finger on the tip of his sword, he did not have fun

Jeffory didn't meet his old wife so no more Abby-

Garroth, Laurance, Jeffory and Dante are a quartet

Levin became super attached to Garroth after he came back from the Irene dimension, refused to let go of his father for a very long time

When they came back Dante joked about how he was catching up to them in age

Dante and Brian got closer during the timeskip, Brian is Nekoette-Tan's God father

Brian isn't a spy, I refuse to include that.

the first batch of fusions for Insta is done! i still have a bunch more to do but these are all i got done this weekend. 

the majority of these could be seen as shippy but the only ones i designed with the intent of a ship are the two Garroth ones and the Jefflyn one.
