Jeleva (Magic the Gathering)
Smash
Pass
Made all of these in quite a rush today, but very happy how they turned out! I will have to un-pringle them when they dry
Okay, I have a million questions.
So
S̶o̶r̶i̶n̶ ̶m̶a̶r̶r̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶N̶a̶h̶i̶r̶i̶?
I mean, Olivia Voldaren marries Sorin?
Olivia Voldaren marries Jeleva?
Whatever it is, it better be amazing!!!
What decks...do I want to take to commander tomorrow night.....
Commander of the Week
Jeleva, Nephalia’s Scourge (Mill and Wheel Edition)
Sorry it’s been a while guys, it’s been a busy few weeks. It has given me time to come with a couple of new commander decks though, which I hope to post soon. The first of which this Grixis colored deck which focuses on getting rid of your opponents libraries as fast as possible with mill and wheel abilities. And who better than Jeleva to pilot the deck, with a pseudo-mill ability of her own, that only gets better the more she dies.
Why’s my Graveyard bigger than my Library?
This deck is going to have mostly mill effects, the more cards it forces them to mill, the better. I like cards like Nemesis of Reason, Breaking // Entering, Mind Grind and MIndcrank as well as Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker that can really hurt the old library after a while. Mesmeric Orb and Dreamborn Muse are both really effective ways of milling too, but will catch your library too. Make sure to have a few ways to prevent your library from disappearing along with the rest of them, such as Psychic Spiral, Elixir of Immortality and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.
Reload? Again?
We have mill, but its great if we can have other ways for them to run through their library even quicker, by forcing them to draw and discard lots of cards. Wheel effects such as Reforge the Soul, Windfall, Whispering Madness and Jace’s Archivist are some good ways of forcing your opponents to run through a good portion of their deck at once and sometimes be forced to bin some really useful cards. Forced Fruition is also hilarious because it only forces your opponents to draw seven cards when they cast spells. Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur is expensive but can make sure they never get to hold onto their hands for more than a turn. Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is also a brilliant addition because of her ability to exile cards from your opponent’s hands graveyards and even the top of their library.
Wait, I’m getting scratched for this too?
Drawing and Discarding can be potentially painful for your opponents too, with cards like Underworld Dreams, Sangromancer and Fate Unraveler, besides the obvious Megrim, Liliana’s Caress and Waste Not, your opponents will dread the next time they have to draw a card, which is usually one of the nicest things about magic.
...And it’s Gone.
One of my favorite things about milling is the face your opponents pull when their graveyard goes bang. I find there are too many reanimator players about these days and cards like Hedonist’s Trove, Tormod’s Crypt, Agent of Erebos and Relic of Progenitus can drive such players mad. Not to mention Sadistic Sacrament, Nightmare Incursion, Jester’s Cap and Praetor’s Grasp, that can make sure those typical reanimation targets never enter the graveyard in the first place.
...And Finally.
You’re definitely going to need a Bojuka Bog and a Reliquary Tower. A Geier Reach Sanitarium could be useful too. Apart from this, the usual shocks, fetches, pains, temples and checks are probably your best bet. I have tried this deck a couple of times and people don’t tend to like it too much, but it’s fun all the same. I do hope you find this both helpful and fun and until next time, Happy Deck Building.
