How is your fitness thing going? I think it's awesome you are doing this! Are you doing this for muscle, loosing weight, or just getting healthy in general? When I started getting healthy my body totally changed. Like I crave healthy food now and if I eat garbage I don't feel good. My body doesn't look much different but I feel different!
I don't know who you are, Anon, but thanks for asking!!
Obviously I'm still left on that Thanksgiving low that means lots of eating junk, but I'm back at school for the next 11 days and I plan on working out once more. (I need to figure out how I'm going to do that for the next three weeks when I go home though...)
As for progress, I have noticed a lot of progress in my arms especially. I lift weights regularly so now my biceps can lift 15lbs each and my triceps can do 10lbs each! (When I started on my individual triceps a few weeks ago I literally couldn't lift the 10lb at all.) It's incredible going home to my friends and family and letting them feel my arms and they all just drop their mouths and stare at me in surprise.
I've never been the girl who cared about fitness. I ran a slow mile in elementary school (sadly that mile from back then is still about 4 minutes faster than my current mile), and I hate pretty much every sport except maybe soccer or badminton. However, I made a promise to myself when I was finishing high school that since I'd have access to a gym for the next four years of college that I was going to work out and do something. Even if I didn't lose weight or look all that different, you need to be active somehow, so I decided to get started. (But if I happen to lose weight in the next four years I will be screaming with happiness) The real kick in the pants was FitElise and her Reach Your Goal October thingy. It got me to go to the gym consistently, and now I go 3-4 times per week! Well, aside from last week when I went home...But yeah my body looks the same, but I know I've made some small progress. (You can't change your entire life in two months though, so I'm not shocked.) I have noticed that I eat slightly differently. I mean, I still gorge myself on desserts whenever I get the chance, but I tell myself that I'd much rather eat the cake than look skinny (which is true and I'm not sorry). However, today I went to Culver's and I couldn't figure out how to get the water to work on the drink machine so I got lemonade and after a sip or two I realized I didn't want any of it. Sugary drinks (aside from maybe hot chocolate or chocolate milk) are seriously so pointless and stupid. I'll stick to my water and milk. But I've also found that I don't want to eat any of the really sugary cereal either. I tend to think more about what I eat rather than choosing blindly, and I've eaten more salads (even if it was like 5) in the past year than I have in all my 18 years of life. So, I'm not the same as I was, but I still have a lot of room for improvement (especially in my running endurance...)
This is way longer than you expected I'm sure, but I felt like some other people would be interested to hear how things are going, and I really wanted to share my progress!
