Arthur: Jergen appears to be in some kind of coma. What should we do?
F&S manager: We see this a lot. His job is so boring that it caused his dopamine to crash. Show him some funny cat videos and give him a coffee I.V.
Arthur: ...Part of me doesn’t want that to work.

Jergen. I don’t even find him to be a particularly well written parody, he just sucks from every angle.

The Letter - Chapter 5
Jergen’s hand closed around Farkas’ shoulder with a firm grip the moment he smelled the smoke, and the boy stopped dead, looking anxiously up to the man. He laid a finger on his lips.
“Careful,” he whispered, “someone’s there.”
They were approaching a…

"Where's Ma?" (Drabble)
The letter came one afternoon, Rowena was needed in Windhelm. They both knew it would happen, she was an officer after all. And in the letter, Galmar assured she wasn't going into any combat for now, just reporting for duty. Vilkas didn't have much to say about it, he always supported Rowena as a soldier. But there was one slight problem, two in fact. The twins had never been without their mother for more than a few hours.
"It'll be fine, love" he kept saying. "It's only for a few days, I can handle it."
But the six year olds didn't quite understand the difference between a few days and a few hours, so it went smoothly at first. Rowena said her goodbyes, mounted her horse and left. The only thing they found strange was the fact that she wasn't wearing her usual armor. This one was different. But armor was armor, and Ma was gone. Now it was time to play with Da until she returned.
Vilkas was glad that the kids were happy, he thought at first that they might cry when they saw her leaving. But they were fine, playing as they always did.
Trouble started when the sun went down, the pair stood at the window in the living room waiting for Ma to come home. But she was nowhere to be seen. They went to bed reluctantly, they wanted to be awake when Ma arrived. After a while, they finally fell asleep, and Vilkas damned the war to Oblivion a thousand times.
The next day, Uncle Farkas came over and the twins were distracted enough playing with Alek to think about their missing mother. But, again when the night fell, they started getting more and more impatient. Da kept saying that she would be back soon, but soon wasn't soon enough.
The third day was the worst. The twins wouldn't stop asking for their Ma, and Vilkas was about to lose it. Nothing worked with them anymore. He took them to the river, he took them to the city, showed them around Jorrvaskr, but still, they missed her too much.
Night fell, and Vilkas' patience fell with it. Wren asked him one more time.
"She's not here! Why is it so hard to understand?!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, he regretted them. He had just yelled at his little girl. She stared at him for a while with sad eyes before openly starting to cry. Then she ran upstairs and locked herself in her room, leaving Vilkas in the kitchen feeling like the worst father on Nirn.
"Shit" he muttered before turning around, finding little Jergen staring at him.
"You're mean" he said.
Vilkas sighed. "I know." He picked up his son and walked upstairs. "Wren" he called, knocking softly on the door. "Wren, open the door." But she didn't answer. He sighed again and set Jergen down before trying to force the door open. He gave up after a while, he didn't want to break it down. He called again, and this time, the door opened, revealing a sad Wren with red puffy eyes and a runny nose. It broke his heart to see her like that. He knelt in front of her and pulled out a cloth from his pocket to dry her face. "I'm sorry I yelled at you, sweetie. I know you miss Ma, but I don't know when she'll be back."
She sniffed softly. "Do you miss her too?"
He nodded. "Aye, I do."
Wren looked at him until he was done wiping her tears and then threw herself onto him, hugging him tightly. Then, Jergen joined the hug, and Vilkas couldn't help but smile. He got to his feet, lifting the twins with him and carried them to his room, where they stood awake playing until the late hours of night. In the end, the three of them fell asleep, Wren using her Da's arm as a pillow while Jergen used his stomach.
Rowena arrived the next morning during breakfast, and the twins brought her to the ground in hugs and kisses.
Vilkas chuckled. "You're early."
"I missed them too much" she said before kissing him lightly, both kids making faces at them.
