We love, because He first loved us.
When you discover that you have a type and that type is emotionally vulnerable Australians
The fact that Jesus intercedes for us has always been a strange piece of theology for me. What does it mean? What do I do with that? Does it actually matter?
And I think that when we boil it down, when we really simplify it as Dane Ortlund does here, it's clear that it's a game-changer. Jesus is praying for us now. Jesus is praying for His Church. Jesus is praying for the specific needs and hurts of His believers.
That's incredibly comforting.
The LORD is good; he protects his people in times of trouble; he takes care of those who turn to him.
Nahum 1:7
Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
1 Corinthians 1:27-28 NLT
