My pulse quickened. Her lips met mine, timidly at first but growing with passion. It wasn't a long kiss, but it was a good one. It had heart, it had passion, it had... the quickness of not wanting to get caught.
Those are my favorite kind of kisses. It's like stealing little moments of time, and making sure they're just for us. No one hears or sees them. There's a quick smile then movement to our respective places. When people re-enter the room we glance and smile.
But, how they don't figure it out is beyond me. We look at each other, sheepishly smile, look away, and both look back to see if the other isn't. They always are. She always does.
They don't have to be some grand gesture, it can be as quick as a peck on the nose and a flashed grin. Those kisses where lips meet teeth, and noses get bumped, always leave me with a smile.
But wow, those kisses leave you yearning for more. I just want to feel her up against me. Not like a hot I need you now kiss, but an embrace that feels safe and a kiss that feels warm. Just the fact that we're together, even for just a second, just puts me at ease.
Her brown eyes kept darting back to me, but I knew that nothing would ever happen. Nothing ever happens with these quick kisses, they come and go, a moment between potential lovers, a point in time to think back about.
It's the quickest way to fall in love.
