I imagine Luci grew up playing with Fred's calves, and this particular one was his favorite. It probably grew into a lifelong thing.

[Radio static.]
Good evening, dear listeners.
To start things off, I've been asked to read this brief notice:
The City Council announces the opening of a new dog park at the corner of Mulberry Street, near McGrew's Zoo. They would like to remind everyone that dogs are not allowed in the dog park. People are not allowed in the dog park.
Do not approach the dog park.
The fence is electrified and highly dangerous. The dog park will not harm you.
...
Just a reminder to all the parents out there: let’s talk about safety when taking your children out to play in the scrublands. You need to give them plenty of water, make sure there’s a shade tree in the area, and keep an eye on the helicopter colors.
Are the unmarked helicopters circling the area black? Probably World Government. Not a good area for play that day.
Are they blue? That’s the Sergeant Mulvaney's Secret Police. They’ll keep a good eye on your kids, and hardly ever take one.
Also remember: Gatorade is basically soda, so give your kids plain old water and maybe some orange slices when they play.

Lights. Seen in the sky above the Arby’s. Not the glowing sign of Arby’s. Something higher, and beyond that. We know the difference. We’ve caught on to their game. We understand the “lights above Arby’s” game.
Invaders from another world.
Ladies and gentlemen, the future is here, and it’s about 100 feet above the Arby’s.
...
And now, the weather.

Our final report for the night comes from the south west of the TVF Station.
A new creature was spotted at approximately nineteen hundred hours last night. Several feet tall, with hands like a man, a beak like a hawk, and a ruff of feathers around its neck, it stood beneath a towering Truffula Pine, watching the moon. Shadows hid its face, and it didn't appear to make any noise as it slowly turned and retreated into the woods.
Investigation of the spot where it stood revealed long, thin, four-toed footprints with deep scratch marks in the dirt, indicating claws.
It is uncertain what this creature wants.
But it is out there, and you are--presumably, hopefully--in your home, in your bed. You are safe, for now, and so long as you avoid the south west woods until further research can be conducted.

Settling in to be another clear night and pretty evening here in ThneedVale Falls. I hope all of you out there have someone to sleep through it with. Or, at least, good memories of when you did.
Good night, my dears.
I made a Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz oc and his name is Poplin. The other character is a Grinch/Jibboo hybrid named Luci and he belongs to @chaifootsteps.
Poplin is a lowlife wannabe hoodlum who loves listening to rock bands and would punch anyone who says he looks stupid. He can change his pattern colors depending on his mood. Poppy was once a bully to Luci but then apologized to him once realizing he's cool but now he's a bad influence on him.
The Grinch’s loving partner who just kind of showed up one day, never talks, never takes off his watch, and doesn’t seem to exist on paper. It’s probably fine. Don’t worry about it.
I still like how the whole reason I created Boo was because The Grinch 2018 had just come out and everyone was making adorable little Who-sonas to ship with the Grinch. And I was like “You know what, if I’m gonna go do this I’m gonna go full indulgence.”
And now Bandicoot Cuminthepants Grinch is married to his universe’s equivalent of Slenderman and every Christmas I drink hot chocolate and think about them and their grandkids.
“You make a better person of me.”
“And you of me. Isn’t that the point of marriage?”
My current interest (The Crown) overlapping with my seasonal interest (Dr. Seuss stuff). It’s been four years since I started shipping these two and they’re a little older and battered, they’ve got grandbabies now, but I like to think they’re still as smack stupid in love as ever.
Was going through old stuff and found this absolutely amazing picture of a Jibboo @holic-user did a while back!
Jibboo crosses. Clockwise from top right: Bumble, Knox, Sneech, Who, Sneech, Grinch, Grinch.
Jibboo, although capable of breeding conventionally, have a unique method of reproduction that allows them to have offspring with just about any creature that doesn’t run screaming from them. A hefty chunk of what the Seussian world knows about Jibboo and their genome comes from those scattered few who’ve survived intimate encounters with them, and the hybrids left behind.
Luci is profoundly grateful that his parents love each other as much as they do, and that they somehow made it work. Most of these stories run along the lines of...
“Dad met my mom by the river one night. When he woke up my egg was lying there in the grass, but he never saw her again.”
“They tried, you know. They really did try. They had my egg, and my mom wanted my dad to take her away to the place he came from, so they could be together...but she didn’t come back right. Just sits and stares at the walls.”
“Mom was into these things, and she didn’t care what happened to her. So she went looking, and she found one, and whatever happened out there, she doesn’t regret it.”
“I have one parent I’ll never get to know because a Jibboo came, did whatever they do, and then killed them. Their tongue was missing but their eyes were open, like they never even saw it coming.”
