how i look at bro when couples eat free
There’s a couple historical figures I have discovered that apparently nobody who isn’t explicitly writing for small children will ever fail to mention that they were alcoholics; Jim Bowie and Boris Yeltsin.
(stories for medium and large children may still mention the alcoholism. Iirc the Bowie character in the Disney Davie Crocket movie was coded as a kind of admirable doomed drunk, but in a way that worked out to “somehow chronically ill” to me as a small child, which I suppose wasn’t wrong.)
Are there any other historical figures that literally everyone who ever writes about them is like, “They were a drunk, even by the standards of their culture/time. Anyways back to their historically important deeds…”?
How id think the riders would feel about the alamaniacs
The kid- the kid would be everyone's favorite 100%. He's literally just a silly guy.
Lou- they would be neutral abt everyone but watch bowie and travis argue and go "these "legends" are losers"
Ike- would probably feel a little left out bc I doubt most of the alamaniacs could understand native American sign language
Buck- he would bond with Juan Seguin when anyone accidently says something insensitive, they can't catch a break
Cody- he's 100% read abt each of them and he's like "Omygod I've read abt you is it true that you-" especially about David much to his dismay
Jimmy- knowing him he'd either be chill about bowie or fuckin hate him to his core. Same goes to travis since he left his wife and kids and that reminds him of Emma, maybe not tho bc travis didn't just up and leave. Teaspoon would probly confiscate Jimmy's gun cuz he knows jimmy would try and gunfight bowie
Teaspoon- it's cannon he knife fighted bowie but it's never mentioned how he feels abt everyone else lol. He and Davy were probly buddies tho and for travis, probly thought of him as a control freak
I'm drawing interactions for sure

It all comes full circle ❤️🩹🔋
Being in your early 30s and studying the same historical period you were into as a preteen is trippy because you 100% can have a nuanced (even critical at times) analysis of a historical figure, but also...
...he's my buddy Jim, who got me over my long-time phobia of sharp objects when I was 11.
...he's my bff James, and when I was a 12 year old squad leader in the Young Marines dreading every second of a role I so badly wanted to love and be good at, he made me feel less alone.
...he's my old friend David, who got me through my first heartbreak when I was 13ish and found out the guy I had the biggest crush on got a girlfriend.
...and so on and so forth.
HIII it’s @dustyrifles from tiktok again the person who requested crockett ^^ if you’re up to doing another alamo defender i might ask about james “jim” bowie HMWEHAH you can make him wear anything silly 🙏 he’d prolly wear an american flag shirt idk
I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM BUT ANYTHING FOR MY FELLOW MUTUAL 🦅🦅🦅🦅
