" Hey lieutenant, what's a 'fine shyt' n 'huzz' "
( crockett isn't small, he's behind Travis and this is also kinda old)
In 1909, in a drunken stupor, Captain Jack Harkness’ men had run over a little girl and killed her. She turned out to have been the chosen one of the fairies. A week later when they were all traveling on a train, his men were all killed by the fairies and their mouths filled with rose petals. ("Small Worlds", Torchwood, TV)
a quick redraw of william barret travis! C:
The original was drawn 69 days ago (funny number, i’m immature )
his face was bothering me so i just really wanted to redraw this LOL
other than the outfit i muted his hair a bit, obviously fixed his face, and made his eyes a bit brighter
the redraw (september 6th) ⬆️

past
Some packs are better at blending in than others and that’s most certainly the case for William’s pack, the Philly Wolves. Five families of pure blooded werewolves make up the Philly Wolves and as far as supernatural events go, this pack runs a tight show in Philadelphia. They’re alphas of the supernatural world there and they maintain order for the most part. In other words, there’s hardly a vampire problem or a demonic problem in Philly since these wolves have made this city a safe place from them.
Every so often, one family rises above the rest and becomes the main branch of power so that their alpha will become the alpha that the other families also follow. Unfortunately for William, his family isn’t the strongest back. If anything, his family is at the bottom of the food chain. The Travis family were once the fiercest fighters that Philly had ever known. They were bigger, meaner, and more skilled fighters than the rest who seemed to have a natural tendency to be strong, but the four other families hated that. For generations, they subtly worked against the Travis family until about a decade ago when a large part of his family was attacked by hunters while they were on a trip.
William was among those who were on the trip and while his immediate family wasn’t with him, he witnessed the deaths of his uncles and aunt, the former alpha. The first strike against the Travis family during this trip left the rest to scramble for safety. William remembered running and being the most fearful he had ever been in his life. At one point, he thought he was cornered and then let go, but the truth was that William couldn’t remember. He refused to completely remember that day.
When he returned home to his family, safe and physically a little scratched up, they welcomed him with relieved tears. His father, a timid man, took up the role as the new alpha and tried to piece together a broken Travis family who had taken a tremendous loss. Despite all that had happened, the other families in the Philly Wolves didn’t seem very empathetic or compassionate to them. Meetings with the four other alphas brought no calm to the Travises and it became obvious that the families preferred it that they were crippled. While the Travises had no evidence that the other wolves were responsible for the attack against them, they believed it as fact.
His father advised the rest of the family to lay low, but William had a different idea. The man believed that his success would be the best revenge so he returned to his life before the Travis tragedy. Despite the fact that he was a werewolf, he decided to become serious about professional boxing. With his older brothers’ help, they found a coach who knew about what he was and was also willing to teach him. William was trained in lessons of restraint and how to fight like a human, but beyond practicing his showmanship, his coach also taught him how to protect himself better.
It wasn’t long until William started to create a name for himself in the supernatural world and in sports news. He was an up and coming fighter known as William “The Phenom” Travis. His family, over all, supported him and the rest of the Philly Wolves were beginning to see him as a threat. William, however, didn’t mind being a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He could put up a convincing fight and rough the other guys up in the ring, but thanks to his training, he hasn’t done anything more.
present
What he shows in the ring is clearly his restraint and wolves from Philadelphia know that. Since he has become quite a big deal, his coach and his family felt that it was time for him to move. He reluctantly agreed to move to his coach’s hometown to train there, away from his pack. While he’s in New Orleans to keep training and get better for his upcoming fights, William can’t lie about the relief he feels knowing that he’s safe from the trouble back home, so he’s here to enjoy himself. The Phenom wants to have fun outside the ring too.
personality
When it comes to his achievements, William is a humble guy because he knows that he could do better and that he’s holding back. He doesn’t want to come off as too confident because he fears outing himself to the public as a werewolf. Not only that, but it just doesn’t feel right to feel too confident about anything. He’s the man who understands how short life could be and that death could be around any corner. William puts himself out there externally as a realist but inwardly, he fancies himself as a dreamer. Even though he tends to be serious about his craft, he lets himself have moments of fun outside of the ring, even if it makes him feel guilty. When he fights, he feels the weight of his family’s hope on his shoulders and a little more too.
connections
BEAU AUSTELL, He sees the guy lingering too much and too often after practices and matches so it’s hard not to be suspicious of him. William certainly thinks that he’s pretty strange and is worried that he might be a crazed fan or worse, a hunter. Either way, he doesn’t like him very much.
LISA PRICE, It gets tiring to keep up an image all the time, so he likes to let lose in New Orleans underground fight club. They have plenty of humans and supernatural beings to fight and it’s not like they’d ever tell that a big shot was fighting. He pays a little extra for Lisa to keep things on the down low and have a good working business relationship.
LUNA LYKAIOS, This woman has tried talking to him several times about a lot of things, but the most memorable talks between them have involved how he feels about hybrids. She’s trying to grow her own pack and bring him into hers. He still doesn’t know how he feels about the idea since he still has family back home.
william is portrayed by MICHAEL B JORDAN and his face claim is NON-NEGOTIABLE. he is currently OPEN.
