the elevator ride down felt too quiet. your hands stayed shoved into your hoodie sleeves, the promise ring still heavy on your finger. jimin noticed you touching it absentmindedly and his hand found yours immediately with a gentle squeeze.
“i’m right here.” he said reassuringly.
room 1408 sat on the far side of the hallway. every carpeted step felt louder than it should. before you could go further, jimin stopped near the corner, eyes scanning. his protective instincts were on full display now. “i’m staying here.”
“shout if anything feels weird.” he says firmly.
everything seemed plain and normal at first, until you noticed it; an envelope taped near the bottom of the door with scribbles on it.
your name was written messily across the front. jimin crouched beside you first. “what the hell…”
you carefully peeled it off and opened it slowly. to your surprise nothing but a folded piece of paper sat inside.
put the promise ring inside.
“…what?” your stomach dropped.
jimin leaned closer, read it once and then again. his expression darkened instantly. a buzz.
unknown number: put the ring in the envelope. unknown number:
then walk away.
your fingers instinctively curled slightly. the promise ring caught the hotel light, still warm against your skin. still new. jimin noticed and his expression softened briefly, then hardened again.
“nope, absolutely not.”
another buzz.
unknown number: he really hates instructions.
unknown number: that’s dangerous.
his hand found yours instantly, thumb brushing lightly over the ring.
“i just gave this to you.”
your throat tightened. “jimin, kim—”
his jaw flexed hard because you were right, that was the problem. kim was dead.
another buzz.
unknown number: three minutes.
unknown number: i wonder if detective han sleeps heavily.
your blood ran cold. jimin saw it too.
“okay,'' jimin hesitated, ''put it in.”
you looked at him immediately. “…what?”
his expression tightened. “i hate this.” he swallowed hard. “but i’m not risking someone else.” your fingers trembled slightly as you touched the ring. the tiny sparkle catching under the hotel lights. you hated this too.
still, slowly, you slid it off your finger. your chest tightened embarrassingly fast like something important was being ripped away. jimin looked worse, he stood to the side watching quietly his jaw tight with irritation.
you placed the ring into the envelope.
another buzz.
unknown number: good.
unknown number: leave it at the door.
another.
unknown number: walk away.
you placed the envelope carefully against room 1408.
stood straight and took one step back, then another. jimin stayed close beside you waiting and watching.
the hallway stayed silent for a few moments. then, buzz.
unknown number: see?
unknown number: that wasn’t so hard.
unknown number: he looked sad when you took it off.
sunlight spilled through the hotel curtains in soft streaks, casting a pale yellow glow into the room. it should’ve felt peaceful but instead the room felt rather heavy. jimin barely slept which you had noticed. every time you stirred, he was awake staring at the ceiling, checking his phone and thinking.
by the time checkout came around, neither of you had said much. the drive back toward seoul felt unusually quiet. the city slowly returned around you. the traffic, morning commuters and coffee shops opening felt familiar.
normal life continuing like nothing had happened. jimin sat beside you in the backseat. his arms folded like he was deep in thought as he stared out of the window, his jaw tense.
he hadn’t really looked at you all morning. at first, you assumed exhaustion from everything piling up, but he felt too off.
“okay,” you said quietly. “what’s wrong?” nothing in response. he kept staring outside. “jimin.”
he sighed suddenly. “nothing.”
you frowned immediately. “you’re clearly upset.”
“i’m mad.”
your brows pulled together in confusion. “…at me?”
he laughed once, humorless. “kind of.” the answer caught you off guard. “for what?” you said as he finally looked over. “the ring.”
“…what?”
he looked away again toward the window. “you actually took it off.” the words landed quieter than you expected.
“jimin...”
“no, i know why.” he cut in quickly. “i’m not stupid.” his voice stayed calm, the kind of calm that meant emotions had been sitting too long.
“i get being scared but i literally gave it to you an hour before.”
your chest tightened. “someone died,” you said quietly. his jaw tightened immediately. “i know.”
“then why are you acting like i had a choice?”
“because it felt like you gave in.” the words came sharper now, the real frustration slipping through. “they threaten us and we just...what? do exactly what they say?”
you frowned. “what was i supposed to do?”
he looked over finally and really looked at you.
“trust me.”
that made something twist in your chest. “trust you?” you repeated quietly.
“yes.” his voice cracked slightly around the edges. “i said no.”
“and kim is dead.” you spat back at him.
you hated the way his expression changed, the hurt flashing across his face, but you kept going anyway because this wasn't fair. “i’m not risking someone else because we wanted to be stubborn.” your voice sharpened slightly. “especially not over a ring.”
the second the words left your mouth you felt immediate regret because his expression closed off instantly.
“wow.”
you sighed immediately. “that’s not what i meant.”
“no,” he said quietly. “i know exactly what you meant.” he looked back out the window. he was done with the conversation. “forget it.”
silence swallowed the car after that, the uncomfortable kind. the kind where both people wanted to say something but didn’t.
the city passed quietly outside, familiar streets slowly returning. by the time the driver pulled up near your building jimin still hadn’t looked back over. “i’ll text you,” he said quietly. he stepped out of the car and the door shut softly behind him.
buzz.
unknown number: rough morning?
unknown number: he really liked that ring. how could you?
the apartment felt too quiet when you got back. as usual, you locked the door twice, checked the windows, checked the hallway and then checked them again. because now the stalker didn’t just feel invasive, they felt dangerous and calculated.
you dropped onto the couch, staring at your phone. your chest tightened because for the first time you genuinely wondered if this was starting to rot its way into your relationship.
and maybe that had always been the point. as you scrolled through your messages with this stalker, your eyes drifted back to the old voice memo; the distorted one. you sat up suddenly.
wait. if manager kim had direct contact and the stalker left voice notes then maybe...
you grabbed your laptop and plugged in headphones. you opened editing software and played the stalker’s voice memo first. it was distorted intentionally to mask their real voice. you adjusted the pitch; high, low, back and forth, until the robotic distortion peeled away.
your pulse picked up, because beneath it there was a real voice. female. you opened kim’s usb video beside it and fast forwarded to the moment.
“you took long enough.”
you isolated the audio and played both side by side, over and over again. it was the same cadence, the same slight pause between sentences and the same sharpness at the end of words. it was the same voice.
“holy shit.”
manager kim had met her face to face. the stalker picked up the note herself, which meant she didn’t hide from everyone. just you and jimin, because staying unseen mattered. you leaned back slowly, thinking.
if she refused direct contact then maybe you had to force it. make her show herself. but how? your phone suddenly buzzed and you jumped thinking the worst.
jimin: i’m sorry.
jimin: i was being unfair.
jimin: can i come over?
your chest softened immediately.
you: of course.
he showed up with takeout and tired eyes. the second you opened the door he looked guilty, really guilty.
“hi.” he whispered. you stepped aside to let him into your apartment. “hi.” he stood awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck. “i’m sorry.”
he hesitated for a moment.
“i know why you did it.” his shoulders dropped slightly. “i just…” he sighed. “i hated watching them take something from us.”
your chest tightened because you understood his sentiment. it seemed like whoever this was, was in control of your relationship now, telling you to do things you don't really want to do out of fear. you stepped closer. “i hated it too.”
he wrapped his arms around you first. “i don’t want us fighting because of this,” he murmured quietly. “me either.”
he set the food down on your coffee table and began undoing the bag. ''I got your favorite.'' he says, holding up the black take out container. you smiled softly and sat down at the coffee table across from him.
for once things felt okay, peaceful even. you enjoyed a quiet dinner and laughed along to movies. the conversations were soft and familiar. there were no texts, no threats or weird photos. nothing.
you almost forgot what normal felt like but you wished it didn’t become so temporary.
the next day came easier than you expected. hybe buzzed with award show energy. stylists were everywhere and staff frantically paced around the building getting things finalized for last minute rehearsals.
bts crowded into practice rooms discussing performance details. you mostly stayed out of the way like usual until taehyung spotted you. “wait,” he frowned. “why are you leaving after rehearsal?”
you blinked. “…because?”
“come backstage.” taehyung said, tugging on your arm playfully. jungkook nodded immediately. “yeah.”
“there will free food,” namjoon added helpfully.
yoongi barely looked up as he spoke. “less suspicious if you’re already here.”
jimin smiled softly from across the room; smaller than usual, but warm. he liked the idea of his best friends trying to include you. ''I mean, wont people get weirded out to see someone random with you guys?'' you questioned.
taehyung rolled his eyes. ''we have many staff around us at all times, it's not exactly suspicious if you're there. just wear something neutral that doesn't make you stand out.''
you hesitated for a moment. the idea of joining them backstage made you feel nervous. since getting with jimin you've passed by a few famous faces, but nothing to this level. there would be idols everywhere you turned at this event and you preferred staying out of his work stuff for the most part.
''fine.'' you said after a few moments of silence.
you entered the secret entrance as bts went through the main one to take their red carpet photos and do “famous people stuff” as you referred to it. backstage felt chaotic, there was way too many people. headsets and wires, the beeping sounds of the security’s walkie talkie's, camera crews rushing around and stylists yelling. the artists barely showed their faces, rushing past to get to where they need to be on time.
how does he do this?
for obvious reasons you kept your distance from jimin. sharing glances and soft smiles from across the backstage area. he finally walked up to you after some time when the crowd filtered out and bent down to your height to whisper in your ear.
''are you enjoying the event?''
''well, I've gotten dirty looks here and there but also some smiles from artists I enjoy so I guess that makes up for it.'' you whisper back. jimin chuckles and stands up straight. ''people can be mean.''
he stared at you quietly for a few seconds. ''you look nice.''
you furrowed your eyebrows. ''it's a simple long black dress jimin.''
''so? you look great in it, you look great in everything.'' he said, looking around quietly. ''what's wrong?''
he shook his head, like as though he was telling himself he was just being crazy. ''I just feel like-.''
''jimin, let's go!'' one of the staff members shouted in a hurry, grabbing him by his arm and sweeping him away and off towards his group. the group quickly made their way out into the main seating area of the award show which meant you had lost him and wouldn't be able to speak to him for the next few hours.
you stood there silently. nobody else was around and that uncomfortable feeling washed over you. something felt weird. your stomach turned. it was an awful feeling, like eyes lingering too long. you checked your phone but there was nothing; no texts, which somehow felt stranger. you looked around.
staff members rushed past, gone as fast as they'd come. but then, movement. quick and in the corner of your eye someone in black rushed by, their hood up and walking quickly down a side hallway.
your pulse ticked up because they looked back, just briefly and then disappeared. your body moved before your brain caught up. you didn't want to be scared, you wanted answers. the hallway got quiet and dark as you walked.
the figure slipped into a room. you followed immediately, your heart pounding. the room was empty, almost. equipment stacked near walls in a rushed manner, like the room was being used for storage rather than something important.
“hello?” nothing. you frowned. looked around slowly and everything seemingly went still for a few moments. just then something crashed, the sound of metal clattering deeper inside the room. your head snapped toward the noise. there was a rustling movement, like someone was frantically trying to find an escape.
you turned the corner,
FLASH.
white light exploded across your vision and you stumbled back immediately, caught off guard. “what the hell?!”
someone holding a camera. your body reacted first and you swung, hard. your fist collided with the side of their neck. they wheezed instantly, doubling over. “fuck!”
you ripped the hood back and froze. it wasn't the stalker; it was a seemingly random guy who wore a venue staff badge, the camera still dangling from his hand. he looked terrified.
“what the hell are you doing?” you snapped. he looked panicked immediately. “I’m sorry..!”
“why are you taking pictures of me?”
he looked scared, really scared. it reminded you of kim which made you stomach churn and cramp up. “I didn’t have a choice.”
your expression hardened. “what?”
he swallowed hard. “they’re blackmailing me.”
“they?”
he nodded shakily. “she sends instructions.”
your pulse stopped. “she?”
the terrified expression didn’t change. “i don’t know who she is.”
“what do you mean?”
“she calls from blocked numbers,” he said quickly. “leaves phones places.”
your chest tightened. “how long has this been going on?”
“a few weeks.”
weeks.
“you were supposed to photograph me?”
he nodded. “and jimin,” he admitted quietly. “private moments, close contact or anything suspicious.”
she’d been building something, collecting something...for what?
he looked near tears now. “she said she’d ruin my life if I stopped.”
your stomach twisted because suddenly manager kim wasn’t the only one and this this was bigger than stalking, way bigger. then his phone buzzed. both of you froze.
slowly he looked down, his hand shaky as he lifted the phone. as he read, his face drained color completely. he turned the screen toward you.
unknown number: did you get the pictures?
the room went completely silent. the guy looked like he might throw up. his hands shaking and breathing uneven. “i swear,” he said quickly, voice cracking. “i didn’t tell anyone anything.”
you stared at the message, your pulse pounding harder. your eyes flicked around the room instinctively. door, hallway, corners and camera equipment. nothing suspicious or out of place, but the feeling, that awful feeling came back immediately.
watching. she was always watching somehow. “show me everything,” you said quickly.
the guy blinked. “…what?”
“everything she sent you.” he hesitated.
“please,” you added quickly. “i think this person killed someone.”
that made him go pale, really pale. he unlocked his phone immediately. message after message, blocked numbers, different contacts and instructions.
take pictures of arrivals.
focus on her.
do not approach.
proof matters.
your stomach turned. proof. proof of what? you kept scrolling. then something made your chest tighten. a folder with dozens of photos.
you outside jimin’s apartment, inside cafés, walking near hybe, blurry photos through windows, the rooftop from last night, the ring. your throat tightened. “she made me upload them,” the guy said quietly. “to a drive.”
“what drive?”
“i don’t know,” he admitted quickly. “just links.” another message. both of you jumped.
unknown number: stop talking.
his breathing stuttered. “she’s watching.”
another message.
unknown number: go backstage.
unknown number: now.
your chest tightened because suddenly this felt familiar. another task, another setup. you looked at him carefully.
“what happens if you don’t listen?”
“she sent pictures of my daughter.” he said shakily.
your stomach dropped hard. “she knows where my family lives.” he rubbed at his face shakily. “I just take the pictures.”
guilt hit unexpectedly because he looked terrified and scared of losing everything.
your phone buzzed.
unknown number: i was wondering when you’d get brave.
unknown number: following shadows now?
unknown number: good.
you hated that word now. good; always like you were a pet learning tricks. another message.
unknown number: go backstage.
unknown number: you’re about to miss something important.
cold settled into your stomach. important?
you looked at the guy. “what does that mean?” you showed him your screen. he shook his head immediately. “I don’t know.”
you believed him.
another buzz.
unknown number: run.
your stomach dropped. you didn’t think, you just moved out the room and through the hallway, your heart pounding too hard. past staff and security. they couldn't be trusted. what if they were involved too?
all you could think was:
jimin.
something’s wrong.
you pushed through backstage curtains and immediately everything felt wrong. crowd noise thundered outside, staff scrambling with the members standing nearby except jimin.
taehyung noticed you first.
“hey uhh, you probably should stay backstage I don't want you getting caught-”
“where’s jimin?” the words came too fast.
taehyung frowned. “…what?”
“where is he?”
jungkook looked confused. “he just left.”
your stomach twisted violently. “when?”
“like...five minutes ago?” jungkook answered slowly. “said someone from staff needed him.”
staff?
no.
no no no.
your phone buzzed. you almost didn’t want to look.
unknown number: too slow.
unknown number: task four: go find your boyfriend.
your stomach dropped so hard it physically hurt.
for a second everything around you blurred; the crowd noise, voices and staff running past were gone. all you could hear was your pulse.
“what happened? ”taehyung’s voice sounded farther away than it should’ve.
you looked up too quickly, panic already written all over your face.
“someone took him.”
immediate silence.
jungkook frowned. “…what?”
“he didn’t leave with staff.” your voice shook now. “he’s been getting messages too. someone’s been stalking us.” the members stared confused out of their minds, processing what you’ve just said.
namjoon’s expression changed first. he gained a serious look in his eyes.
“what do you mean stalking?”
you unlocked your phone too fast and showed them the messages.
task four: go find your boyfriend.
taehyung went pale and jungkook looked genuinely confused. the other members stayed silent out of pure panic.“what the hell is this?” taehyung said.
“someone killed manager kim.”
yoongi stood immediately, his expression hard. ‘’show management.”
“no.” the word came out sharper than intended. you didn’t know who to trust anymore, someone always knew too much. what if they were involved?
your body moved before anyone could stop you. “wait…” taehyung grabbed your arm briefly.“where are you going?”
“to find him.”
the hallway felt too quiet. every door looked identical, equipment cases lined the walls.the lights dimmer back here. your phone clenched tightly in your hand.
buzz.
unknown number: warmer.
you stopped walking and slowly looked around. nothing.
unknown number: left.
your breath caught. they were guiding you? watching. you hated that your feet still moved anyway.
unknown number: good girl.
your stomach twisted, anger finally overtaking fear. you typed quickly.
you: where is he?
unknown number: finally talking to me?
another.
unknown number: jealous?
your pulse ticked up. jealous? what the hell did that mean? you turned another corner, then stopped. the door was slightly open, faint light spilling through.
buzz.
unknown number: there.
your hand shook slightly as you pushed the door open. it was a small prep room that was mostly dark. empty water bottles scattered around, costume racks and mirror lights glowing softly. for a second you saw nothing. then, movement. your breath caught. jimin.
he was sitting in a chair and alive. thank god.
yet something felt wrong immediately. his hands were tied loosely to the armrests. not tightly, messy and almost rushed. his mouth was uncovered and his head lowered slightly. he was annoyed more than he was scared. when he looked up his eyes widened instantly.
“what the hell?”
you rushed over immediately. “oh my god.”
hands fumbling at the restraints. “what happened?”
“I don’t know,” he said quickly. he was frustrated. “some woman said staff needed me.”
your stomach dropped. woman.
“she said there was an emergency.”
he looked around bitterly. “then some guy shoved me in here.”
“guy?”
“some guy in a hoodie.”
you untied him quickly your hands still shaking.
“did you see his face?”
“no.” his expression shifted. “what happened? why are you crying?”
you blinked. you hadn’t even realized the warm tears streaming down your cheeks. your adrenaline was through the roof.
your phone buzzed and both of you froze.
unknown number: aw.
unknown number: reunion complete, but it's not over.
your blood ran cold because of course it wasn’t over. it was never over.
another buzz.
unknown number: you really came running.
unknown number: i knew you would.
your chest tightened painfully. jimin stood fully now, rubbing at his wrists. “what are they saying?” you handed him the phone. his jaw flexed immediately as he read.
another message came through.
unknown number: he looks good tied up.
your stomach twisted with irritation. jimin’s expression darkened instantly. “okay.”
“i’m officially over this.”
buzz.
unknown number: you cry pretty.
the room suddenly felt ten times smaller. jimin moved immediately crossing toward the door and checking the hallway before he looked back at you.
“we’re leaving. no wandering and no splitting up.”
another buzz.
unknown number: don’t be dramatic.
unknown number: i already left.
your stomach dropped. left? meaning they’d been here, really here. close enough to hear everything, close enough to touch the door and close enough to see you cry.
unknown number: task four complete.
unknown number: i have a reward for you
before either of you could react a photo loaded. your breath caught.
jimin’s car, outside your apartment building.
but something felt wrong. you zoomed in, your heart stopping completely. scratched into the driver side door, deep and violent was one word: liar
your throat tightened.
jimin went still beside you, completely still. then quietly, “…that wasn’t there this morning.”
another buzz.
unknown number: you should really stop fighting.
unknown number: you’re easier to control when you like each other.
the room went silent.
because suddenly everything clicked. the ring, timing, manipulation, even the jealousy comment were just ways they were interfering with the relationship. they were deliberately pulling those strings and trying to break things apart.
“this doesn’t get to become us.” jimin said softly.
your throat tightened unexpectedly. “they’re trying to mess with us,” he said quietly, eyes locked on yours. “don’t let them.”
unknown number: ugh.
unknown number: romantic.
unknown number: go back backstage.
unknown number: unless you want everyone to find out why jimin disappeared for twenty minutes with his secret girlfriend.
the rest of the award show passed in a strange sort of an unexpected peace. after everything the silence felt unsettling because it meant something else was coming.
there were no texts, no buzzing and no weird photos. nothing.
jimin refused to let you leave his side after the prep room. he sat you near him backstage, tucked slightly behind staff equipment where cameras wouldn’t easily catch you.
close enough and safe enough. every few minutes, his hand brushed yours, small checks, silent reassurance.
you answered the same way. tiny squeezes back.
the members eventually relaxed too, sort of. though taehyung kept glancing over and jungkook checked doors more than usual. namjoon looked especially tense, like he knew something bigger was happening now.
still the performance went well. crowds screamed and lights flashed. for a couple hours everything felt right.
by the time everything wrapped up, it was late. exhaustion sat heavy in your chest. jimin walked beside you through the private exit, his hood up and head lowered with security nearby.
the second the doors opened; sirens. your stomach dropped. red and blue lights flooded the parking area. ambulances and police, staff gathered nearby whispering. chaos.
“what the hell?” jimin stopped walking and completely froze. on the ground namjoon laid there in a daze. he was surrounded by emts with blood near his temple and his dress shirt disheveled. he was barely conscious as paramedics worked around him.
“namjoon!” jimin moved instantly. running, the panic immediately setting in. security shouted behind him but police intercepted first holding him back. “sir, you can’t..”
“that’s my best friend!” his voice cracked, angrier than you’d ever heard.
“what happened?” you rushed over too, your heart pounding. “what happened?” you repeated quickly. “he’s our friend.” the officer looked hesitant and careful before answering. “there’s been an incident.”
“what kind of incident?” you asked.
“we’re taking him to the hospital.” was all the officer said, not wanting to give out any extra information. jimin looked devastated, actually devastated.
“was he alone?”
the officer hesitated. “…we believe so.”
namjoon had been fine, perfectly fine. he was laughing twenty minutes ago. you refused to believe this was random. it couldn’t be. jimin grabbed your wrist suddenly. “we’re following them to the hospital.” before you could reject or agree, he was pulling you towards the car.
the hospital waiting room felt endless. the hours stretched strangely with jimin pacing nonstop. back and forth, back and forth with his hands shaking slightly every time he checked his phone, which for once stayed silent. it felt almost mocking.
you sat nearby watching him unravel quietly because this scared him, really scared him. another person hurt. someone he loved, someone close all because of this. because of you.
eventually a nurse approached. “they’re allowing brief visitors.” jimin stood so quickly he nearly knocked the chair over as he rushed to namjoon's room.
namjoon looked exhausted. he had a bandage wrapped around his head with bruising around the wound already settling. a police officer sat nearby scribbling notes.
jimin immediately crossed over. “what happened?”
namjoon exhaled slowly like breathing hurt. “someone jumped me.”
“what?” jimin whispered. “they knew my name.” your stomach twisted. “they knew i was with bts.” the officer kept writing. “what did they look like?” you asked quietly. namjoon frowned. “hoodie.”
“they shoved me.” his jaw tightened. “then kept saying weird shit.”
“what weird shit?”
namjoon hesitated, his expression shifting slightly to a more uneasy look. “they said…” he winched as he exhaled. “they said someone had to learn consequences.”
the room went cold, completely cold. suddenly a knock. you jumped slightly as detective han stepped inside, his expression unreadable.
he looked at you first, then jimin, then namjoon.
“we need to talk.”
“to be safe, i need her outside for a moment.” your chest tightened immediately. “what?”
“it relates to the case.” jimin frowned, but reluctantly nodded.
you stepped outside and watched from the glass window between the room. han spoke quietly, jimin’s expression slowly changing as he talked.
everything seemed hit at once. manager kim, the ring, the fear, the photos, the threats and now namjoon, another innocent person. before you realized, you were already walking down the hallway past waiting rooms and nurses out the doors into the cold night air.
you called a taxi to take you home. you had a lot to think about and reconsider.
your phone buzzed halfway there.
jimin.
jimin: where are you?
you stared too long, then typed:
you: going home. i’m sleepy.
jimin: you left?
jimin: please text me when you get home so I know you're safe.
guilt twisted around your stomach sharply.
but you couldn’t do this tonight, not right now. you didn't have time to feel guilty.
back home you changed clothes and washed your face in silence. you prepped a nighttime tea with a slice of lemon and sat in bed with your laptop, trying not to think.
until you came across a headline; a breaking article. your stomach dropped. you clicked immediately.
speculation had already started everywhere. was it a fan obsessed with namjoon? a PR stunt? your brain hurt as you scrolled comments on the article.
it didn't make sense. he was fine. he was literally fine until leaving, until tonight. until you. your eyes drifted toward your phone. the stalker hadn’t texted, she didn’t need to. because somehow they already won.
unless..
a thought hit suddenly. if the only thing they had was your relationship, then maybe you should stop letting it be a secret. your pulse ticked up. because if everyone already knew; if you exposed it then what leverage would be left? no secret. no threat. nothing left to hold over your heads.
slowly, you opened instagram.
your finger shakily hovered over the post button, your heart pounding.
because this would change everything.
