Hello! I just wanted to say thanks again for writing Hard Limits. There's not nearly enough Sam/Balthazar, and it's one of my favourites. I'm so glad you decided to do a sequel for it, is there anything else you can tell us about it? Thanks again!

Aww. Thank you so much. I'm not suer when you sent this but I'm sorry if it's been sitting in my inbox without tumblr notifying me. The sequel Soft Limits is well underway now, and I'm so excited to finally be sharing this thing @wisteria-lodge and I have been working on for so long.

That said, this week's chapter is going be a little later than usual because it still needs a final polish on the editing. But it's a fun chapter and I think it'll be worth the wait.

I need y’all to know the weird Kansas City house in Edging where we had Cas and Dean stay is a real place. There really is a house with those weird windows, crappy sofas, wall-less upstairs bedroom and tiny funky kitchen window. I’m not sure we even mentioned the one strange missing stone tile from the wall but that was a thing too.  Also, Sam’s hideous hotel room from that fic was very much a thing too.

Dean, Cas and Jimmy actually talking things through in Season 5 has major ripple effects. Sam still gets locked in the Cage with Lucifer, and comes back soulless for a bit. But Balthazar survives Season 6 and Purgatory never gets opened.

Some things change. Some things stay the same. And Balthazar might be Sam’s best chance at getting some sleep without going completely insane.

It’s still a little hard to believe we finally have all of that Dean/Cas/Jimmy fic posted and can move on to editing the Sam/Balthazar portion of the story. But there’s so many crucial work building details in even just the first chapter of it that we really can’t afford to rush it out. (No matter how much I may want to. There’s Cas backstory and angel lore world building I’ve been wanting to make blog posts about for months but I still can’t yet.)

New Chapter Posted!

The second to last chapter of Edging is now up on AO3!

Edging is a canon divergence Dean/Cas/Jimmy fic where Dean Winchester, Castiel and Castiel’s vessel Jimmy Novak get together at the end of 5.04 The End. They grapple with the consent issues inherent in such a relationship and help each other navigate through their various traumas. 

It’s part of a series. The next fic will continue to explore the ways things change and stay the same once Dean Jimmy and Cas are a triad, and will feature the unlikely couple of Sam/Balthazar as Sam tries to deal with his hallucinations from his time in the cage.

honestly jim and sam very enthusiastically adopting ori into the family is rly important to me like. theyd both reply to the email she sends after miri's loyalty mission with smth along the lines of "be good, tell me if you need anybody killed"

then like the secondary twin would email her and jim would be like if you need anyone to talk to im a licensed therapist, i know being a teenager is rough, honestly the only reason i sent this email is bc my sister asked me to. i have an undergraduate degree in engineering so if you need homework help i guess i can do that. and he ends up tutoring her through the rest of high school and giving her Boy Advice because miranda is comically horrible at that. sam would be like, jim has outsourced boy killing to me. my number is xxx-xxxx and i live on noveria so plan accordingly. i wont charge you for the first boy but this is a business so continued assassination requests will require payment. im also under orders to report all boy killings to your older sister just fyi. if you need homework help ask someone other than me. i just kill people.

a few days later miranda emails her like, "sorry you now have two new and very strange adoptive older siblings? theyre good people i promise just. also strange. i might love them both"
