Hi Natsumi I would like to know your top 5 all-time favourite YGO characters (although it's obvious who's the top of the tops) and explain it in a brief sentence why.

Basically, the alternate version of this question is:

“Look, I know Crow’s your all-time fave. I got it. We all got it. But there’s gotta be four characters in YGO you really really like BESIDES him, so who are they any why? And no essay responses pls.”

(although I can’t guarantee that last part lmao) 

Okay so Crow-sama’s my #1 for obvious reasons I’ve gone over many many times, so here are the other four in my Top 5:

2. Sakaki Yuya - while I generally love all the main protags (as of this year lmao), Yuya’s really the only main protag I felt a deep connection with from the very beginning, especially with the “don’t be afraid to take a step forward!” theme attached to him. Out of all the main protags, I definitely see myself in him the most (also he’s so friggin’ cute to boot like excuse me tomato son.) 

3. Mazaki Anzu - there are a lot of things I like about Anzu, but the one thing that definitely stands out to me is that she was the one who helped Atem and Yugi realize that you shouldn’t shy away from what you want, even if you fail or run into obstacles while getting there. Again, something that really resonates with me. (also she friggin’ saved the entire world by getting that cartouche and suggesting they envision Atem’s name in YGO DM like if that ain’t badass) 

4. Astral  - even tho he gave me tons of grief (STOP SACRIFICING YOURSELF DAMMIT), he’s also witty af (like #clapbackgoals) and his genuine concern for Yuma and those Yuma considers his friends makes him such a fantastic character. But what definitely made him a top character for me was that he wasn’t afraid to be curious, even when it was socially inappropriate at times and that curiosity helped him form strong bonds not just with Yuma but with the others, like Shark and Kaito.

5. Manjoume Jun - he’s the youngest of three and the other two are considered socially more successful than he is, so I can definitely relate to him there. (as someone who’s constantly being compared to her older siblings lmao thanks Mom) But, even though he’s stubborn, he can also admit when he’s wrong (when it truly matters), which I think is super important. Also “ICHI. JYUU. HYAKU. SEN. MANJOUME SANDA! SANDA! SANDA!” never gets old.

YEAH SO MUCH FOR YOUR “BRIEF SENTENCE” LIMIT, but I hope this answer is sufficient~

You’re welcome! And yes, I am going to stream the rest! I think I’ll only do the first part of it that actually shows VRAINS content, tho? If they’re going to keep with the formula of the first special and show VRAINS, then the OCG, and then Duel Links then I think it would be better to just stream the first part, since that’s what we were actually there for. lol

So, Gods AU

I just would make Yuya and Yuzu two opposing sides of destructive forces that are supposed to be against each other but can’t bring themselves to do that because their love for each other is so pure but they can’t escape their destiny of trying to destroy the other.

So they keep fighting trying to fight against fate, which upsets the natural order. In turn, they learn that they are in fact reincarnations and in every incarnation they have killed each other and it’s something they can’t escape but want to so desperately because this is a cruel cycle to be stuck in.

The more they fight against it, they more destructive they become until the essentially destroy the world around them... and ultimately, themselves because they cannot... actually be together.

And then they are reborn once more, to repeat their love and destruction.

Essentially, a story of creation and destruction of the world.

Fake lovers to real

Mmmm I have never written it, and I don’t read those that often either.

I guess for me is a little hard to suspend my belief when there a ton of more reasonable options than pretending to date someone :P although when pulled right I love those cringeworthy scenes when the involved people are trying so hard not to mess up their “How did you meet/date/marry?” stories :’D or when someone knows or realizes they’re bullshitting through the entire thing and rather than help or rat them out they’re just enjoying themselves making them suffer (I’m evil I know...)

However I can see why other people see the appeal (hidden feelings coming to light, sexual tension, forced cohabitation, awkward family dinners etc.) 

If I where to write something with it I would probably choose... Robustshipping or Pendulumshipping because I just love the idea of serious characters like Kaito or Reiji caught up into those situations.

Whee would I find them though? They're light novels as far as I can tell, so I highly doubt I could find them online like i would manga scans. All I really have is the anime.
