Not sure if anyone explained yet, but i thought i'd send a message for you. Basically what John Husted did was he removed a huge portion of democratic voters from the role call, which lists the people in the area registered to vote. This makes it much more difficult for those people to vote, and i'm assuming he did this in an effort to make democratic voters simply walk out without voting. Hope this helped!
Thank you for explaining. I don’t know the laws regarding this, but I doubt it was ethical. People should not need to jump through lots of hoops in order to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
been reading on the ohio situation. Basically, it means they called "potential voter fraud" suspiciously around the time a bunch of inner city minorities got registered and have, as a result, purged all of the registrations for "investigative purposes." Funny how that only happens when it involves minorities attempting to get registered.
UGH. It’s horrible how many people are against minorities voting. And that they have the gall to act on their racism! America is not whites-only, and they need to get over it.
GOP Ensures Undemocratic Voting Policy

Voting restrictions in the state are a staple of the current conservative Ohio General Assembly and state executives who have promoted undemocratic policy.
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has helped push across and will try to enforce a restriction on early voting in Ohio. Senate Bill 238 eliminated “Golden Week,” a week-long period in which Ohioans could vote and register to vote at the same time.
The Columbus Free Press is reporting that the chair of the Ohio Green Party has filed a lawsuit seeking injunctive relief and the removal of shady software patches which Secretary of State John Husted ordered installed into voting machines in several Ohio counties (Democratic strongholds like Cleveland and Columbus, obvs.). The hearing is at 9 am tomorrow.
Dear Mr. Husted,
The only reason we have early voting in this state is that we failed to equip our precincts with reasonable numbers of voting machines on Election Day in the past. And, shockingly, those precincts always seemed to be in urban areas. Your attempts at voter suppression used to be a lot more subtle. Maybe if Ohio would have done things ethically the first time, then your latest attempt at voter suppression wouldn't have come back to bite you in the ass. Sincerely, Thank you, Justice Kagan, for seeing past the bullshit.
