𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐓𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 — John Logan
“𝐼 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑤𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝑖𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ”
Summary: You and Logan had broke, and Logan had never told you why. But watching you at a party he realized he had made a big mistake.
Warnings: Drinking, mentions of fucking, break up, stupid Logan, Garrett the only one using his head.
“He’s staring” Allie Hayes practically shouted over the music. You had turned around and she was not wrong. The one and only John Logan, star hockey player, ex boyfriend was exactly doing what your friend was saying. You smiled as you turned back around to your friend.
“Good, let him” You said as you smiled as you contuined to sway your hips to a random song you didn’t even know the lyrics too. It was a Saturday night and you were not going to let your ex boyfriend ruin your mood.
“I absolutely love this new Y/n!” Allie shouts as she took your hands and spun you in a circle. You both were in your own world. And this was perfect. Considering you had went through 6 bags of hot Cheetos in 2 weeks…this is what you needed.
Across the room was John Logan, he was standing in some frat guys kitchen. His hand was gripping the white marble making his knuckle turn white against them. Dean was probably talking his ear off but Logan didn’t seem to care. I mean he broke up with you right?
“Hey, guys!” Hannah said as she ran up to you guys and hugged you both. You smiled as you hugged her tight. Behind her, her guard dog, Garrett Graham was smiling holding a beer. You were always glad they were together. It seemed like they were perfect for eachother in a way.
“Hey, when did you get here?” You asked as you let go of your her and held on to your red solo cup tighter then before. You weren’t dancing and you weren’t even thirsty. You were probably going to grab another one anyway.
“Juts a couple of minutes ago. Thought I’d stop by. How have you been holding up?” Hannah asked as she got serious as she squeezed your arm. You knew this was coming but you didn’t want to sit and dwell on it anyway.
“Pretty good actually. It’s awkward sure. I mean, Allie and I have eachother Atleast” I said as I grabbed my arm around allies shoulder who was rolling her eyes at a slow song playing.
“Yeah for sure. What’s more dangerous than two single girls?” Allie said as she turned her focus on to the conversation infront of us. Garrett snorted as he took another swig of a beer he had in his hands. “Sorry didn’t know he was allowed to speak tonight” Allie said as she glared at Garrett.
Allie was not a big fan of love. She had broke up with Shawn and love was not a good subject for her. You had found it funny because a second later she would be crying because she wanted to be in love. Allie was probably not the best to be single with.
“Sadly it does. Do you guys wanna go somewhere else?” Hannah asked as she looked behind me and Logan was not Subtle about his staring. Which was not surprising. He broke up with you and he didn’t even give you a reason. So why should you sit here and be upset about anything? “Because he looks like he is going to kill someone. Control your friend” Hannah said as she turned around and elbowed Garrett.
“What can I do, babe? He is like obviously still inlove with Y/n.” Garrett said as he shrugged his shoulders. You looked up at him confused. It made your heart beat faster. You guys had been dating for over a year. You love that fact that he was still needing you.
“Wait, really?” You asked, maybe a little too eager but who cares? You still had some serious feeling for him. And if you find out he was just as miserable as you were feeling in these past few weeks? You take it.
“Okay, someone is eager” Allie said as she placed a steady hand on your shoulder to try and bring you back to life a little. The last thing she needed was for you to please over Logan the rest of the night but turns out it was already heading out in that direction anyway.
“Well, he kept stalking your instagram last night. Dean was making fun of him because he always talks about you. I think it’s starting to annoy Tucker. We tell him to get back together with you.” Garrett said as he shrugged his shoulders not seeing the big deal in all of this. “I probably shouldn’t be telling you all of this, but…” Garrett said as he looked down at Hannah.
Hannah looked pleased that her boyfriend was in her side anyway. Y/n smiled as she turned back to Logan who was now listening to Tucker probably talk about something stupid. You had turned your body to face him. You knew this was the way to go about things anyway.
“Hey, where are you going?” Allie asked as she grabbed your arm and turned you back around. You looked at her and then sighed. What were you doing? You we’re going to go and break your promise that you and Allie had made tonight. No ex-boyfriend’s. And Allie was keeping her side of the deal. Why would you break yours?
“Nothing. I’m staying here and having fun” You said with a smile as you ignored Logan behind you. Because there could have been a slim chance Garrett was not even telling the truth and you were going to go make yourself look stupid. And you did not need that tonight.
“That’s my girl” Allie said as she squeezed you in a big hug and let go of you and kiss both of your cheeks. “I knew you had a brain” Allie said as she turned and looked at Garrett and practically stood infront of him to look at the three of you guys. “Okay, let’s go have fun” Allie said with a bright smile.
“What about me?” Garrett asked as he looked at you all confused that you were taking his girlfriend away from him. They did come to the party together, and now he was standing alone, looking like an idiot.
“Designated driver? Right? Game tomorrow? One drink limit?” I asked as I scrunched my eyebrows as I didn’t even bother to listen to him before you grabbed my friends hands and you ended up in the middle of the dance floor.
“You seriously need to get your girlfriend back” Garrett said as he walked into the kitchen as he was left in the dust. He did think that you and Logan were a good couple together. Any knew exactly why Logan had broke up with you anyway, and he wasn’t gonna sit there and tell you that.
“Exactly! That is what I was trying to tell him, and he wasn’t going to listen to me. He sits and stares at her, but does nothing.” Dean said as he threw his hands up in the air. He was trying to have a good time with his friends before the game tomorrow and his one friend was in a relationship, and the other one was completely heartbroken. And Tucker? It’s Tucker.
“I already told you this” Logan said as he wanted to avoid this conversation and he took another sip out of his red solo cup. The sensation burnt his throat, but it felt good at the same time. He hated the fact that he had to watch you dance, and he couldn’t even come over there kissed your cheek or anything. And he Knew that you both were going home in different places it killed him.
“Told us what? That you were afraid of a relationship? You guys dated for a year you sound like a pussy” Garret said and he was being completely blunt, but he didn’t care anymore. He was getting tired of his friend, acting like this, especially when he had something good in front of him.
“I wasn’t going to say it” Tucker said as he shrugged his shoulders, obviously agreeing with his friend. Everyone in that room probably knew what was going on. You guys had such a good stable relationship and one random Tuesday. Logan did not want to do it anymore. And he practically completely ghosted you.
“It’s complicated” Logan said as he shifted on the balls as his feet. He didn’t feel comfortable in this conversation anymore. No one blamed him either. He was faced with a hard decision and he didn’t know what to do anymore. But he saw how much good of a time you were having, and he wanted to be a part of that.
“Not complicated enough of you are looking at her like that” Garrett muttered loud enough for everyone to hear. And Logan did hear it all right. Maybe a little much.
