do you also read that one line from the book that you are forced to keep it aside and throw yourself around the room, kick the air, and gasp for air because it was that good?

Finally reading Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys, and… guys, I’m struggling.

Fat Charlie feels familiar, the way my own reflection feels familiar.

And… well. I’m 70 pages in and something tells me this is not a story where things turn for the better for him and he comes out on top in the end. It feels like a story where a born loser will just continue being the butt of the joke in increasingly outrageous and bizarre ways.

And I’m torn between spoiling myself (and possibly giving up on the book) and biting through in hopes of catharsis, with a significant risk of just feeling miserable and sad by the end of it.

Anyway. If anyone read this book, I could use some slight hint as to whether this is a piece of literature for people more thick-skinned than myself, or if the story will eventually have mercy on this poor guy I so heavily relate to.
