The Waltons Whump List
This is not a complete list, just the more notable whump moments throughout the series that I am aware of. If you know of whump that is not included here, please feel free to add it on via comments, reblogs, or by clicking the ask button on my blog and sending it to me directly.
Warning: long post below cut
"Those were lean years and, for many Americans, a harsh and bitter time. On Walton's Mountain, we were sustained with poems and gingerbread and laughter and sharing. But most of all, by a remarkable mother and father."
The Waltons 01x01 "The Foundling"
When I watched The Waltons as a kid, I would always make fun of John-Boy for staying up late to write after everyone went to bed. But you know what? I didn’t like writing back then. The only things I wrote were papers for school which felt like a chore. But now? As an adult and as an adult who enjoys writing, I get it now. And I take back everything I ever said about him😭
Of course he’d wait till late to write. During the day you have work (or school), distractions like music playing and/or the tv running. It’s also been scientifically proven that the brain’s creative juices flow best at night. And as a fanfic writer who does her best writing after my family’s gone to bed, I… I get it. I am so sorry for picking on you when I was a child, John-Boy🥴
Character Moodboards // John-Boy Walton
When I was young, the thought of distant and mysterious cities would send me daydreaming for hours.
my grandparents are watching The Waltons and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d give John-Boy the sloppiest, nastiest, finest, most delectable head he’d ever dreamt of n show that country farm boy some funky disco dance moves up in the loft above the barn
yeehaw country boy lemme show YOU how to do the devils tango
Should I do a "The Waltons" fanfic and what should it be about?
