Old Fashioned Flowers John Farleigh A selection of lithographs by Farleigh, drawn on stone at the Central School where Farleigh taught, then printed at the Curwen Press. They were illustrations for Sacheverell Sitwell’s 1939 book for Country Life and commissioned by Noel Carrington who was using autolithography (and willing artists) to bring colour into mass market books. Pigwiggen Arnrid Johnston Autolithographed for her 1938 book for Country Life and printed at Cowell's for Noel Carrington who was commissioning editor at Country Life at the time. Carrington also commissioned Eric Ravilious, Kathleen Hale, John Farleigh, Clarke Hutton, as well as Arnrid Johnston to lithograph direct to the plate, or stone, during 1938.
