Okay so I officially absolutely adore Mary Watson. Additionally, I think she, John and Sherlock should be in a polycule. I mean: look at them!! They all adore each other!! And in the true queerbaiting fashion of the show, they go “we can’t all three of us dance, no, that would be too many” at John and Mary’s wedding, clearly hinting at the potential (and very good, just like Johnlock) MaryJohnLock ship! The only thing stopping them is John’s repression of his bisexuality

Hello! I've been pretty good. I had last week off and spent it visiting one of my favorite cities, so being a bit extra grumbly about returning to work this week is my biggest complaint. I agree - recs are imperative! My job includes timed tasks that leave me with a couple of minutes to noodle around on the internet here and there throughout the day, so I'm pleased to have something more interesting to do. (Adding a readmore after the first response because I talk a lot.) 5. Recommend a gen fic (no pairings).

Aristotle and the Art of Friendship by Dimity Blue (Arnie) is the first one that comes to mind. It could also fill #13 as I've read it repeatedly and #11 because it deserves more love. Author's Summary: When an enemy of Lestrade's kidnaps and drugs him and Sherlock, it's up to Sherlock to get them out. Aristotle: The antidote for fifty enemies is one friend.

I enjoy fic that focuses on Sherlock's friendships (aside from John) and love an Outsider POV fic, and this one does both well. https://archiveofourown.org/works/30635498 While filtering to find this one again, I discovered I have a lot more gen fic bookmarked than I thought I did - maybe I should make a whole rec list at some point.

One of my favorite tropes is forced proximity, which is used to good effect here: A Grave Situation by BeautifulFiction Author's Summary: "The idea of being sealed inside a sarcophagus was morbid at best, even if he did have John for company." somebody loves you by simplyclockwork Author's Summary: Sherlock decides to finally take things to the next level with John. Unfortunately for him, the cock-blocking universe has other plans.

Because A Scandal in Belgravia is purposefully ambiguous, multiple valid interpretations of the episode are possible, making it both eternally compelling and frustrating. I get something different out of it every time I watch it, and I enjoy reading what other people think about Sherlock's behavior and motivations as well as the interplay of relationships threading through the episode. This fic approaches these questions in a way that gave me another facet of this depthless episode to peer into, which I appreciate.

13. Recommend a fic you've re-read multiple times.

I reread from my bookmarks frequently, so it's very difficult to narrow it down. I have enthusiastically rec'd this fic on Discord before and find it very well-written, so I'll take the opportunity to do it again. Content warning: the dissociation trigger is well-earned; the fic takes us into Sherlock's POV as he's coming out of and trying to relate a traumatic experience.

Summary: Sherlock knows he's the odd man out—that a marriage is built for two, and there are limits, and what he shares with John and Mary is fantastic, but he's not labouring under any delusions: three's a bit of a crowd. He loves them, though, and this wretched holiday does give him a culturally-sanctioned guise through which to show it. John and Mary know that Sherlock's necessary: absolutely vital to their happiness, their marriage, their well-being, and to the family they're building, because three isn't a crowd, it's perfect. It's them. And they love him, and what better time than Valentine's to make it as official as they can?
