What fandoms on tumblr are active? Or accepting new people? A friend is being accused of things she's not doing and she needs a new fandom to join. Its reverseenchancia I'm worried about her. I don't want this toxic fandom to consume her.

If someone could check in on her that would be fantastic.

I’m writing my thesis on fandoms and I’m including a part about Tumblr. I’ve talked with people irl but now I’m wondering ‘why didn’t I just post on Tumblr?’

Some fandoms you join because you just casually strolled on in and suddenly it's been 10 years and omg where has the time gone.

Other fandoms you join because you were going along with your life and Boom! you're suddenly falling down an elevator shaft. It's already been an eternity and holy shit there's no end in sight.

Is it just me that finds becoming part of a fandom so refreshing and exciting? Especially a fandom you didn't think you'd be a part of anytime soon. Getting to know the people involved, becoming obsessed with listening/watching their content because you just can't get enough of how amazing it is; meeting new friends, sharing your love for the new band/show/franchise that has recently taken over your life but, you don't care because it makes you so damn happy, even if you feel like nothing could make you smile sometimes. I just love the whole experience and the feelings you get when something new comes into your life.

Lately my life has just been 'I feel too old for this, am I too old for this? Is it weird that I enjoy this?'

First time I joined a fandom, it has been  a slow, gradual process, with years upon years of build up and a late realisation.

Well, several, I guess. I was obsessed with more than one fandom at the time, I just had to get lost on the internet to realise fandoms were a thing. Anyway.

Forelast time I joined a fandom, the fandom was as good as courting me. The fanart showed up anywhere and everywhere I looked, interesting crumbles of information were left on my social media, and I finally let them have me after I noticed I was already shipping Destiel. (Yes, Supernatural, I am looking at you.)

And last time, well, I might or might not have been low on fanfics, so I sort of looked up a fandom that had books and had lots of stories and crossovers and then I just casually picked out a few ships and marched right into it.
