Surprise find from my local bookstore after I've had this book on my wishlist for a couple of years: "The Skull" by Jon Klassen.
I'm probably sharing this because Jon Klassen is one of my favourite children's book illustrators and his art style is amazing.
But I'm definitely not sharing this because the titular skull and the girl who found / befriended / opened up to / protected / made tea for him remind me of a certain duo from a certain supernatural book series.
And anytime is always a good time to unjar some thought-provoking, angst-inducing character dynamics. 🫖
// references and biases aside: this is an endearing story with beautiful illustrations, so i highly recommend it. happy reading!
