Imagine Rick and Evie sharing a blanket while they watch the stars. Rick feeding his wife soup when she's sick, or Evelyn massaging his shoulders after an exhausting day. The two of them watching Alex fall asleep, safe in his bed after the latest adventure.
Jonathan dancing and laughing with his sister or reminiscing about stories of their parents (Jonathan has more memories of them than his younger sister). They will never forget how their father's family didn't even offer them comfort when the news of the death arrived. Now Jonathan and Evelyn have reached the age at which their parents died and reflect on how lucky they are to have each other, and to have Rick and Alex.
Sometimes Evelyn starts to cry when she remembers that she died and how that affected everybody. Usually, Rick would appear and hug her, or Jonathan would come to comfort her. She always avoids crying in front of her son, who has already been through so much at the age of eight.
Rick has nightmares about the time Evelyn died or when he was nearly taken to the underworld, but Evelyn is always by his side to wake him. She saved him in Ahm Shere, and she saves him now. He spends more time with their son and hugs him all the time, happy to have him back.
Alex was afraid to sleep alone during the first nights after Ahm Shere, and would fall asleep cuddling with Rick and Evy. His parents and uncle gave him all the attention and affection he needed to feel safe again and, little by little, he began spending more time playing with other children and acting like any child his age (to the relief of his family, who had been watching him with concern).
