When we are married I shall be able to be useful to Jonathan, and if I can stenograph well enough I can take down what he wants to say in this way and write it out for him on the typewriter, at which also I am practising very hard. He and I sometimes write letters in shorthand, and he is keeping a stenographic journal of his travels abroad.
Finally realizing this year that the reason Jonathan says his book may reach Mina before he does is because he’s worried he may be going insane and that his diary will be the last writings of the sane man she knew

"That Divine Madness"
Where Jonathan tragically passed away right after marrying Mina, but that doesn't mean he's out of the picture. Hitching his ghost to Jack Seward brings about the end of Dracula--and a whole host of awkwardness for the good doctor who is very bad at hiding his growing feelings for the Widow Harker--and realizing her own. No matter how clear she and her wingmaning ghost husband make them

Thanks so much for the ask!
What made you ship it? The canon story is just brimming with love between the two of them, and I'm also a sucker for childhood-friends-to-lovers backstories. I think the moment that got me, though, was when Jonathan was narrating being approached by the Weird Sisters and thought of how it would hurt Mina, but showed his determination to record it anyway. There's a sort of trust and honesty there that really compelled me.
What are your favorite things about the ship? I wrote an essay about that here! :D I'm a big fan of the balance of wholesomeness/fucked-up-ness in their relationship.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I'm not sure how unpopular this opinion actually is, but I think that Jonathan was wrong to vow to become a vampire if Mina did— he's explicitly going against her wishes with that declaration. I like to think that Mina understands and even emotionally appreciates it, but it is, at its heart, a vow to betray what Mina wants for herself. (Of course this is one of the reasons i loooove that vow, because it makes things messy in very interesting ways!)
(Send me a ship and I’ll answer three questions based on if I ship it or not.)
