BOOK RECS!
Do yourselves a favor and check out these boooooks. Wish I could reread them for the first time. What are YOUR recs?
Kingdom of Runes (if you like ACOTAR) series by Audrey Grey. Honestly has a major Maas vibe, but it’s still its own thing. Every part of the character and relationship building is a slow burn, and it’s even relatively lusty (not as explicit as ACOSF that’s for sure). You’ll love Bellamy and Surai and it’s definitely worth the read.
Duel of Fire (if you like the detail in the grishaverse) by Jordan Rivet - first in a many book series. Come for the world building, stay because you want Dara and Siv to have everything in life. This is definitely far less smutty, but Dara is a believable, sensible, relatable protagonist with real issues.
Blade and Rose (if youre interested in high fantasy that still feels accessible and feminist) by Miranda Honfleur! Now this is a very intricate world, but so cool and fun to think about once you get into it a bit. This is another fantastic, flawed, interesting protagonist. I’m only a little way into the series, but I also know that if you’re interested in being devastated and truly complex love triangles (squares? Pentagons?) this series will floor you.
