Two oldies that I still really like -- some foods from Fallout (New Vegas, I think..) and Skyrim. I've been meaning to do some more of these with ACNH and BoTW foods... but I think I might have missed the wave on those. ....Right? I recently had a booth at an art market and a ton of people, who had no idea what Skyrim was, were intrigued by that one in particular. I think it's just so cozy looking until you get to that mammoth snout, hahah.
Lil 4x6" peach tart study in gouache. Reference was a photo in Claire Saffitz's Dessert Person... I've yet to make this tart though!
I'm working on a full package design for these, but thought I'd go ahead and share the main designs! Heavily inspired by older printing processes and '60s children's illustration.
I'm going to show them as fruit leathers, but they'd also work really well for some other product categories I think... maybe a seltzer water or gummy candy.
The illustrations were made in Fresco, where I also drew the lettering before transferring to Illustrator to create vectors for each one. I'm planning on making a whole process write-up (/lite tutorial) later on, but if you have any questions about these in the meantime, ask away!
Pretty sure a lil squad of spiders would make the best drum line. I feel like I've seen a ton of images of octopuses playing the drums, but not spiders! I guess it's a lot more likely people find a spider to be creepy...
The composition on this is a little wonky, but I really like how it looks stylistically. Research for this was fun - I looked at a lot of illustrated (food) recipes and fun fantasy ingredient ideas. Acryla-gouache on paper, plus digital text (except the numbers). This was from Drawtober 2020, from the prompt "wicked apothecary".

I'm making a little suite of branding/packaging illustration work right now... This is the final artwork for one of the three flavors of chocolate bars, for one of the faux-clients I made, Sugaree. Later on I'll mock this up onto a chocolate bar wrapper/similar, but I want to finish the other flavors' patterns (and make a Sugaree logo!) first. I really enjoyed making a repeating pattern, it lets me lean into my desire to just draw a bunch of lil things.
