Pagan Min
He flirts with you through extravagant gestures, the kind that leave everyone else wondering what you did to earn his attention.
Loves to “casually” brush your shoulder or adjust something on your outfit, always with a slow, knowing smile.
He teases you with playful, luxurious compliments, calling you “darling,” “dear heart,” or “my favorite exception.”
Finds excuses to pull you into private rooms because he “can’t have everyone staring at you when he’s trying to.”
Gets jealous in a surprisingly elegant way. Cold tone, sharper smile, fingers lightly on your back as he inserts himself between you and whoever’s talking to you.
Sends gifts that are suspiciously on-point: your favorite drink, jewelry that matches your eyes, clothes in your preferred colors.
When he’s truly trying to charm you, he speaks softly, leans close, and lets you see the rare, unguarded warmth behind the theatrics.
Vaas Montenegro
Flirting is intense, chaotic, unpredictable—he gets close, too close, and watches your reaction like a personal entertainment.
Calls you “princesa,” “bebé,” or whatever nickname irritates you just enough to keep him amused.
Loves testing boundaries—tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, tracing your jaw with a dirty finger, circling you like a shark.
Teases you relentlessly, especially if you act unfazed; he lives to crack your composure.
Gets weirdly protective when other people flirt with you, switching from joking to deadly serious in seconds.
Gives you random objects as “gifts”—a knife, a seashell, a stolen trinket—declaring each one essential for “remembering him.”
When he’s actually being sincere, his voice drops, he stops fidgeting, and he stares at you like he’s memorizing your face.
Bembe Álvarez
His flirting is cool, smooth, and calculated, like a man who knows exactly the effect he has on you.
Always notices little details about you and compliments them subtly, like he’s giving classified information.
He stands close intentionally, speaking in that low, silky tone that forces you to look up at him.
Leaves hints of interest through favors, documents “accidentally” handled, supplies that “just happened” to find their way to you.
Has a habit of smirking when you challenge him; nothing attracts him more than a woman who won’t be intimidated.
Keeps his hands to himself… until he doesn’t. A light touch at your waist, a guiding hand as you walk—always brief, always deliberate.
When he finally admits he likes you, it’s during a quiet moment, spoken like a secret meant only for your ears.
Jacob Seed
He flirts in a reserved, quietly commanding way—more presence than words.
Watches you with sharp, assessing eyes that soften just a little when you meet his gaze.
Gives compliments that sound more like judgments of character than flattery: “You’re stronger than you think,” “You don’t break easily.”
Checks in on you by pretending it’s about efficiency or training, when it’s very clearly not.
His version of touch is protective and practical, steadying your elbow, brushing dirt off your shoulder, adjusting your rifle grip.
He tests you physically and mentally, and every time you surprise him, he gets this small, rare amused smile.
The few times he genuinely flirts, it’s in the form of quiet, heavy statements like, “You stay close. I work better with you nearby.”
Joseph Seed
His flirting feels like prophecy wrapped in tenderness—soft words with heavy meaning behind them.
SINS - or: their Darling's sins they absolutely adore...
Includes: Joseph, John, Jacob, Faith

•••
Joseph Seed: Worship and Devotion
God is the only one who deserves to be Worshipped; the only one who should be Worshipped - and Joseph knows this very well, but when it comes to you he wants you to Worship him. He adores it, actually.
He doesn't need it in the elegant way - he doesn't expect you to call him Father or bow to him every time you see him. No, he needs you to Worship him in the emotional and physical way. He needs you to be Proud that he's yours and you're his.
He loves the way you praise him, the way you give him nicknames, the way you trust him, the way you'd die for him just like he'd die for you. Emotionally he craves your everything, the good and the ugly.
And physically? He dies on the inside every time you kiss him with passion, every time you trace his tattoos and scars, every time you kiss the sins on his body.
But don't worry. Worship goes both ways - emotionally and physically. And Joseph knows exactly how to turn you into jello in his hands.
Joseph also enjoys your Devotion - to him. He loves how he can feel it every time you look at him, kiss him or help him with his sermons. You are Devoted. You'd sacrifice yourself for him and he'd do the same for you.
You sin for him - which means you'd damn yourself for him. And to Joseph there's nothing more powerful and honest than that.
John Seed: Greed and Lust
John might look calm and collected in front of everyone else, but behind closed doors with you he's needy. He's hungry for love, touch and affection - and once the trust in the relationship is established, you'll never get him off your back. He always has a hold on you, he wants the hugs and the cuddles, he wants you on his lap twenty-four hours a day.
And he absolutely loves when you're as needy for him as he is for you. John loves your Greed - when it's him you can't get enough of. He loves when you want one more kiss, one more hug or five more minutes in bed cuddled under his arm in the morning - and those five minutes turn into twenty or into some lazy love making. He adores your Greed, he adores that you adore his. And there's no way either you or him will Atone for it.
With John, that Greed is mixed with Lust. John has his fair share of experience with sex, with one night stands - but when it comes to actual affection and serious relationships, well, he's kind of lacking the knowledge in that area; especially in the beginning of your relationship. So Lust is how he shows his love, by wanting you everywhere, everytime. And that's how he knows you want him and love him - by you wanting him everywhere, everytime. This will slowly change, of course, when he realizes he enjoys the soft moments with you. But Lust still stays as one of his favourite sins with you. You want him? Good. He wants you too.
Jacob Seed: Wrath and Violence
It doesn't matter if you're an angry and grumpy or generally calm person overall; your Wrath and willingness to be Violent is still something Jacob finds - well - cute, and forgivable. Cute - as in you look like a small puppy dog who tries to bark and somehow manages.
Your Wrath is something Jacob finds amusing - it doesn't matter if it's directed at him or someone else. To him it's amusing either way. If it's directed at him then don't worry, he won't take it to the heart - he'll have some actual fun with it. He'll stand tall until you tire yourself out and then tease the Hell out of you for it - especially if you're grumpy afterwards. And if it's directed at someone else then he'll watch the show of his life until he has enough and decides to go help you out - and it only takes him a look until the other person apologizes and leaves.
Violence is something else entirely. Knowing you have what it takes to stand up for yourself helps him sleep at night. It makes him Proud too - especially if you don't even hesitate -, because it means you actually listened to him and learned from him; and then used those skills to your advantage.
To Jacob, your Violence is also about loyalty. It means you actually love him; love him enough to shout for him, to fight for him, to kill for him. Don't worry - he'll do the same for you, with or without your knowledge. Some people who caused you trouble might disappear one day, not like either of you would miss them anyway.
Faith Seed: Sloth and Envy
Faith craves the calm things in life, the normal things. To anyone else it might not mean much, but to her it means the world - especially if she can share it with you.
That's why she loves it when you're Lazy. Lazy and cozy moments give her everything she wants and needs. It can be the most mundane and everyday thing you two do: curling up in bed, listening to music together or you reading out loud while she plays with your hair. Or it can be the sneaky kind of Lazy, when you two need to work, need to help the Project or Joseph or whoever; but you carefully drag her to somewhere quiet to have a kiss and Lazily lay down in the grass, surrounded by flowers -- and then make adorable flower crowns for the other. You might show up to work later with grass and flowers everywhere in your hair and clothes, who knows - it's to be decided yet.
Envy is something different. Faith kind of craves your Jealousy - mostly because it makes her feel loved and special. She wants you to want her. She wants you to show everyone else that you are capable of loving her. She wants you to give everyone else scary looks until they walk away with their tails between their legs.
She spends too much time with her brothers? She smiles at someone? Someone's eyes linger on her for a bit too long? She's immediatelly looking at you to see if you have Envy in your eyes. She loves it when you kiss her afterwards, touch her afterwards and curse everyone else to Hell. And Faith only giggles because she finds it adorable - and it makes her happy at the same time.

Chapter 2: Friends in Falls End
Please comment if youd like to be tagged <3
You stood in front of the tall red silo with your arms crossed, trying to contemplate the best way to blow it up without blowing yourself up or sending shrapnel flying across the field. Sure, you had the grenades which could collapse the whole thing, but if the fertiliser inside was as flammable as that guy said, you could certainly just shoot the thing and catch it on fire, right? You followed your eyes up to the brightly painted Eden’s Gate cross, and an incredibly judgmental look crossed your face. You hadn't noticed how it stuck as you tried to estimate the height from the ground to the roof.
Deciding you could use a grenade if shooting it didnt go well, you rotated the rifle’s belt around your shoulder and pressed the trigger. It burst three shots, and you tried again. You could tell there was a heat, maybe a fire starting, but the compression of the fertiliser was too compact and preventing it from igniting, so you opted to look at one of your three grenades and pursed your lips.
“Well, this is a stupid idea,” You muttered as you pulled it out from the sack and ensured everything was secure on your person for your run. You repositioned your legs so that once you tossed the explosive, you could immediately pivot and flee. So, you did just that. You took a deep breath, pulled the pin, and didnt even bother to risk cooking it in your hand as you dumbly slung it towards the base of the silo, then ran the opposite direction, silently counting to four before covering your neck and diving to the ground at the same time that the explosion sent the metal sheets flying. You rolled onto your back to watch as the silo’s gaping hole began to fold in on itself and scrambled up to run off to the side, escaping the falling path of the crumpling building. The fertiliser that spilt formed a flaming mound, plenty of feet high, that you weren't bothering to count.
“That was…. Anti-climactic…” you muttered and swivelled to look back at the farm buildings. You should probably ensure you have a couple of clips for the rifle and get another grenade. And now that you think about it, you should probably pack a few medkits in the bag you were carrying, too. You huffed and checked yourself over, then brushed some dirt from your knees before walking back to the small group of resistance members that were gathering on Rea’s farm. You weaved your way through the seed field mounds and past the bout of threes before getting onto the gravel of the driveway and beelining back to the makeshift armoury. “Can I…. Get another grenade? And whatever else you may have… oh! Oh, and a medkit or three? And ammo for whatever this is.” You held up the rifle.
“I'll be expecting money next time, Dep,” he said as he edged the items forward on the table.
“Put it on my tab?” you asked sheepishly
“I’m countin’,” he said.
Someone from Rea Rea’s gave you a four-wheeler that said she’d wanna give it to you if she had been aware of the situation. You got on and tapped the back rack twice for Boomer to jump up and join you. It was easier said than done to make your way towards Fall’s End, having to stop every moment you saw the tiniest bit of mayonnaise white colour that the cult painted on their vehicles. You even had to pull over a small handful of times when you saw a few cult members snatching civilians and zip-tying their wrists while they were on the side of the road. Most of the time, you'd peel off just before they noticed you, and carefully snuck the ATV closer to the ditch. You dipped into the brush, crouching low between the pine trees, the sedges and the ferns. You walked in your squat and let one hand dig in the ground beneath you as you lurked through the flora. Once you were close enough, you stilled your breathing and placed your rifle up against your shoulder, your sights angled up to the two peggies.
Your shots were consecutive and quick enough that they hardly had time to react before they'd already dropped to the ground. It was hardly even a brief sprint for you to get to the captured duo’s side.
“See, I told you, Crow. Nobody can stay away from us long, always fighting to have us on their side.” The girl with blue-dyed hair elbowed the snow-haired girl's side.
“Don’t fuckin’ do that,” Crow snapped, trying to yank her bound hands to smack the girl beside her.
“Hey, easy now. Im just being honest,” she opened her mouth to say something else, but you cut them off by clearing your throat.
“Am I interrupting something?” you asked, tilting your head with mild amusement.
“No, no. Crow is just being a bitch-” “Yes, obviously you're interrupting, bitch!” they both said in unison.
“Crow, we’re still cuffed. And you.. Are you trying to curse out the person who MIGHT uncuff us?”
“Fuck the deputy, I can get out myself!” The blunette sighed and raised her head away from the aggressive one beside her.
“Please excuse Crow. She’s thinking she would have to go on a rampage. Towards whom- probably everyone, she has no bias.” You slowly nodded as you watched Crow visibly slump her shoulders.
“Sounds right.”
“Anyway, Im Venus. As I've said, this potty-mouth is Crow. Mind untyin’ us? We’ll help you with whatever you need. We owe ya one for stoppin’ them pegs from blowin’ our brains out since the free bird can't help but to run her trap.”
“We are kinda lucky they're helping…” You cut the zipties, and Venus gently rubbed her wrists before beaming a smile at you.
“Aint you just enchantin’! It looks like you're headed towards town… We’ve got some skills if you want some help with... Whatever your goals are?”
“Vee…” Crow looked at her,
“Shut up, Birdie, this is our chance to slaughter some people!” You jerked your head back in shock at the bubbly girl saying such a thing. Crow, on the other hand, looked like this was normal, nodding in agreement.
“They threw our shit in the back of their truck, though.” Crow finally stood, and you realised she was much taller than you anticipated, towering over the five-foot-two Venus by at least a foot. What kinda relationship do these girls have? You wondered.
“A strange one,” Venus winked at you.
“What,” you said,
“Huh,” Crow tilted her head as she pulled her LW3A1 frostline sniper from the box of the truck.
“Oh oh, are my goodies in there?” Venus launched herself towards the tailgate and hoisted herself over it by stepping up the bumper brackets. You heard a thud as her feet disappeared. It wasn't even a second before her head popped up. “They didnt lose my baggie!”
“Jesus, Vee. We were here the whole time. You watched them put it in there.” Crow balanced the sniper over her shoulder and rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, anddd? They could have lost it at that time!” She put the straps of the hiking bag over her shoulders and placed her right hand on the gate before swinging her legs over and out. She landed on both her feet. “God could be trying to nerf me by taking my shit.”
“You can't nerf yourself.” Venus placed her hand up, motioning to silence the grumpy friend. “Put your hand down before I punt you like a football, you little fuckin’ ankle biter.”
“Hey now, Im not an ankle biter. Red calls me a Koala… NOT because of Clymidia” She paused awkwardly “ANYWAYS, Im just sayin, someone up there has it out for me” She pointed to the sky. “I can just feel it in my bones that im meant to help the Deputy, here, otherwise my gear would be gone.
You shifted, still unsure of what the two were yapping about. “Do you… Do you do this a lot?” You asked Venus, since she was clearly the more vocal of the two.
“Oh, oh, yeah, just, listen. I know as well as anyone that it seems the world has put you in a pickle. Not many people ‘round here have soulmates. Im sure they certainly don't understand you.” She pulled the collar of her shirt down to reveal a portion of a black sentence scrawled across her collarbones. “So that makes us two peas in a pod, you and I. And don’t worry much about Crow. We’ve been friends for a while…. She probably won't try to hit me anytime soon. We stick together, and since imma stick with you, she’ll probably pitch in every once in a bit. Now, I've got word that John Seed’s been tryin’ to put planes over the town to stop you from takin’ it back. We can help with that.”
Based on the two simple facts that Venus didnt seem like she’d back down and that you had scolded the man at Rea Rea’s that nobody was here to help, who were you to deny her?
“Alright, Im hearing you. She's got that frostline… What do you have to help?” Venus tilted her head and pushed her lips into a duckface, quirking one brow. “Watch!” she turned around, and you finally noticed the two thigh holsters that held a knife each, then the belt that also held another two that hid under her shirt, which she was lifting the hem of. On her right hip, there was a third belt holster that held a silenced pistol.
“Im sneaky,” she said. You then recognised something.
“Give me a second,” you muttered as you pulled out a pocket book that Dutch gave you from the thigh pocket . You flipped through a few pages before you found a part Dutch had labelled ‘Person(s) of interest’, which held a total of twelve people. You knew some of the names, like Hurk Jr., which was the running senator’s son, Sharky, his pyromaniac cousin, and… Cheeseburger? The county’s famous bear. At the bottom of the list was Crow, Red, And Venus Chaos, and you read the notes below their names.
“Crow’s real name is unknown, but her ‘sister’ Venus seemed to pick her up like a stray dog one day and never let her leave. Sniper for hire She's got two skills: True Shot and Frenzy Fire.
The former noted that she never took a shot unless she knew it’d hit, so she never missed. The latter was a skill she had, only triggered when she was particularly pissed. She could rapidly fire several shots.
Venus, However was quite the case. Her skills were marked as Feral, Lady of the Woods, and a third one, ‘Unassuming.’
Just as Crow, the former was noted “Melee/fang for hire When Venus is backed into a corner, she is known to use feral and primal fighting techniques and is known to get dirty. ‘WILL BITE’ was underlined three times. The latter was written that she could call upon various wild animals that she had encountered during her time in the woods, and they'd fight alongside her.
You looked at where the unassuming label was and read it. ‘Easily fools her enemies by being unassuming. Most people don't bat an eye before she jumps on them and kills them.’
Then, underneath that, he wrote:
‘Vee is Jess’s friend.” You looked a few pages back, where you saw Jess’s name and noted that Jess was Dutch’s Niece. That meant you could probably trust the… feral girl.
“You know Jess?” you asked, stuffing the book away.
“Do I know her? God! She’s practically my platonic wife! I collect them like Pokémon!” She finally turned back around, figuring she had shown off her weapons enough and looked at you. “Do you know her?”
“Not quite yet.. But I know Dutch.” You shifted, and “He's got a couple of people he noted down. Said they’d help me or somethin’. You're on that list.”
“Oh, how sweeta him! I always thought he was soft on me,” she began. “Reminds me of my own old man!” she looked to Crow.
“Well, we'd better get on our way towards Falls End, otherwise it’ll get too dark for us to take out as much as we'd wanna. Whatcha say, Crow and I take this truck? You can't drive, though. That's on me.” You grimaced, not particularly wanting to let this… Whatever she was drive.
“That's fine, I gotta fourwheeler back there, but I'll follow you.” You nodded back at her, and she shot you a thumbs up, watching as you turned around to retrieve your vehicle.
~~
Venus had pulled off the road near a fence, and you followed suit. You watched as she jumped from the truck and heard Crow’s own door close.
Venus took one strap off her shoulder and slung her bag around to dig through it while you walked towards her. She didnt look up, but turned towards you as she began to speak. “Listen, we gotta go on foot from here, otherwise the cult’ll know that it's us. They’ve got eyes watching the edges of town, but I know a few back ways to sneak in between buildings.” You peered in her bag and whatever she was shuffling through and noted a ziplock bag of… horse treats and jerky? She grabbed a smaller bag that was filled with freeze-dried dog treats and a bottle of water. She also grabbed a thermos. She drank from the thermos before putting it back in, opening and pouring the water over a handful of the treats. She put the remainder of the treat and water back in the bag, then put it back on her back.
“You're not eating that.. Are you?” you asked, gawking at the handful of now soggy treats.
“Oh god, no! What do you take me for, a starving artist? No, no. These are for the wolves!”
“The what-now?” you stepped back and gaped.
“Well, my friend Red is also tied up in town, that's why the cult picked us off the road. We were on the way there! And I wasn’t gonna go in, so bear, and, as a Montanan, I have the right to arm bears! Or.. in this case wolves.”
“I don't think you're saying that right, Vee.” Crow looked down at Venus.
“It's the right to bear arms,” You replied. “But… you know that doesn't include actual animals… right?”
“What the fuck? don’t want bear arms… they're too hairy. It's all propaganda anyway.” Venus dismissively waved her hand and then stepped into the hedges of the ditch. She whooped towards the denser treeline, then quieted. The birds stopped chirping for only a few seconds before three wolves emerged, and the birds piped up again.
“Good, good. Yes,” she praised the massive lupines, extending her hands with the treats and feeding them after they tromped to her. “Let's go,” she motioned as she wiped her slobbery hands on her jeans. She crawled up the ditch edge, then grabbed your wrist, not bothering to grab her aggressive counterpart, and pulled you to one of the galvanised road rails. She yanked you around the side, then let go as she slid into the creek trench, stepping on a few stones to avoid the water before walking into the tall culvert. She wandered further in, and the wolves slid around you, briefly looking as they passed, then caught up to her.
Crow tailed, taking the caboose to ensure a bit more safety. After getting out of the tunnel, she jumped and grabbed at a portion of barely visible chain-link fence that was covered in twisting vines and climbing ivy. She slotted her foot in and rolled herself over the top of it and beckoned you over, offering a hand. You took it and put your own foot in a link to hoist yourself up. Crow hardly had to climb. The wolves went through a fox ditch. When all three of you were on the other side, Venus put a finger to her lips, hushing you and waving her hand to beckon you to follow her. She went to the back of a building and you followed her, before she leaned back and whispered. “You can go in from here, I think. Just go through that alley. We will be behind you.”
You split off from her and took the lead, going between the alley as she directed and crouched behind a dumpster for coverage as you leaned out and surveyed the area. At least a dozen people were herded, cuffed in the street and twice that in peggies patrolled around them in a circle.
“You can’t do this to us, Ya hear?” Mary May shouted at a small portion of the passing cultists. “You can't just steal all our shit and try to convert us by force!” One of the men passing hissed at her to shut her up, but she only got louder, and he gripped his gun, shoving the butt of it into her stomach, causing her to lean over her knees and cough.
The scene enraged you, floored you, and you felt your blood run hot. You grasped your pistol and jerked forward, swinging it up and firing, shooting three of the peggies in the chest consecutively as the many innocents ducked down to avoid your rapid gunfire. Your clip ran out and you didnt even bother to swap to the half full one, instead swapping to your rifle.
You took an aim, but didnt shoot as a flash ran past you. Venus and her wolves ran into your view, and she lunged at one of the cultists, shoving herself into their waist and shoving him to the ground, at the same time grabbing a knife from her back and stabbing it into his eye. The cuktist next to them had twisted to defend his partner but jerked back as a hole blew out the back of his head.
You looked to the roof of the building next to you, and Crow sat perched in a nest of signs as cover. A wolf ran past Venus and lunged, jumping on a few of the others that were centring on Venus and ripping their necks apart. You refocused and began shooting others in the distance, sure that Crow would protect her sister. Venus moved and began to rapidly cut the bindings of the townspeople, freeing them before Crow fell back, and the ladder slid, following Venus and her wolves to the next portion of town.
You ran, grabbing a few clips from bodies as you passed them, and caught up, only to go still by the Girl’s side. In front of them, a woman, you were guessing Red, was covered in blood, slamming her boot into a peggie’s chest and leaning down, grabbing the knives from his pouch before standing and throwing them into another two peggie’s heads behind her. She twisted and waved at your group briefly, still fighting. Venus shook from her Shock, and Crow raised her rifle as you stormed forward and continued to use your own rifle to shoot the cultists from close range.
“Baba Yaga,” Venus cheered as she cut the bindings of Pastor Jerome.
“Starshine!” Red exclaimed, twisting past a cultist's bat, then grabbing his wrist and pulling him to the pavement.
“How’d you get out?” Crow asked as she shot the final peggie. Venus was crouched, cutting off the bindings of the last person, who went running as soon as they could.
“Oh, you know,” Red began as she walked around, gathering the throwing knives from peggie’s skulls. “I just pulled my legs through. Old circus trick.”
The chattering stopped as your radio screached to life and the chatter of the pilot entering the airspace blaired.
“I see them, im goin’ in,” he babbled, and the plane dipped down, just over the buildings, nd tried to shoot at the group of girls, trying to isolate you for your capture. The girls scattered, wach taking a different form of cover. Venus dipped into the open garage door, Red took cover behind a car, and Crow backed herself under an awning.
“Don't. harm. the. Deputy.” John spoke over the radio. The plane twisted and turned around to try and take another pass in the town, and your brain clicked, and you ran, jumping behind the stone fence of the church and lying in the grass as cover.
“Ive got it,” sky shouted as she watched the plane spin and the nose dipped down. Crow was quick to brace her rifle against a post that held the awning up, then looked in her sights and shot.
the plane veered off to the side and dipped further down, crashing just outside the town. You grimaced as you watched smoke billow into the air.
“Yikes,” Venus muttered as she ran towards you, while you stood up from ground.
“I feel a little useless..” You stated, looking back to the now very bored looking Crow.
“No, no. Don't feel that way. You're only just starting out. You'll get better with time. It's very hard to go from being a Deputy about to make your first arrest to a member of a very prominent resistance.”
The radios, once again, began to crackle before John's voice broke through the static.
“Sin is pervasive… It drives us to do unspeakable acts,” he paused.
“I know the feelings that must drive you, I know them intimately. I can cleanse your soul, so you can join us in Eden. To join Joseph. Why do you fight against your destiny, so?” You heard him sign deeply.
“It will be worth it. My people will are coming for you. Try not to fight them, or the harder we'll have to scrub.”
You felt hot panic course through your veins and quickly bid the girl next to you a goodbye.
Venus tried to reach out to you, and said something. You didnt hear her. You onky heard the sound of the blood rushing in your ears and a pressure built its way in your lungs. You were moving faster than your own mind could keep up with, it was hard for you to focus on anything. You weren't sure where you were even going until you came to face your four-wheeler and Boomer still sat on the back of it.
“Good boy, Boom Boom,” you said hushedly, and you got on the back and began to drive as fast as you safely could.
You had to make distance from Falls End, and fast. John's hunters would probably start there and try to spiral out in an attempt to catch you. Maybe you could backtrack? Try to hide on Dutch's island for a few days until you can get back into the open? No; it'd give the cult more time to prepare, and risk Dutch's location, too. You couldn't risk that, not after he'd helped you. You drove and drove until you found an empty field, devoid of any people or crops, and nearly slid the ATV into the ditch as you pulled off to the side. You got off and called Boomer to come with you as you practically jumped into the deep grass and clawed your way up the dirt to the fence, which you rather ungraciously climbed through.
You cut yourself on one of the barbs, and hissed at the sensation. Once yiu were stable on the other side of the fence, you looked at the slit on the webbing between your thumb and finger, then dipped your head and locked the cut.
You didn't even hear the trucks behind you. Only the sound of a single pistol firing brought you out of your haze, but you didn't process anything as your vision went foggy, then dark. The last thing you felt was your head falling into the soft, tilled soil underneath you.

The panic was yet to die down, she said nothing but Joseph could see it in her eyes how disturbed she was by the situation she had found herself in. Dutch’s rotting corpse needed to be discreetly dealt with whilst not incurring any radiation damage from the blast. Joseph looked as disturbed as the deputy did, his prophecy had come true, a sweeping sense of vindication was halted by the reminder that he alone survived with her. How strangely cruel God’s plan was for them both.
Whilst Joseph was calm and pragmatic about their situation, the deputy thought of nothing. She stared at the floor for a long time, forgetting to blink until a tear ran down her cheek, only lightly pulling her out of the trance she’d put herself in just to blink and once again be lulled back into her absent thoughts. The two of them sat in silence, Joseph stared at her whilst he thought of everything that needed to be done, his face twitching as his thoughts were interrupted with occasional reminders that his family was dead. Everyone was dead.
Joseph was the first to leave, quietly dragging the body away which she dared not watch. It was somewhat laborious for Joseph which made it all the more frightening for her, the longer the procession, the longer she had to stay in her trance save her brain would shut down completely from shock. Dutch was not a heavy man but he was not so light either and his clothes russelled against the concrete flooring until all that became of him was a muffled noise beyond the room. She did not know how long Joseph was gone, only that after a time, he returned. Time felt like nothing, so tangible was the concept that she felt as if reality were a dream and the rules of dream could take place. Dreams were where she would seek refuge, she hoped to dream so heavily that it would convince her the dream was real. But she had never been so awake in all her life and being held in an awkward sitting position meant sleep eluded her. Especially with Joseph in the room again, he was looking at her, she could see it in her peripheral vision as she had not moved her eyes from where they had rested since Joseph stood from his chair to dispose of Dutch.
Joseph was first to breach her comfortable silence, “come,” he saw the shock in her eyes and how she had calmed her breath now. He was comfortable enough to remove her handcuffs and watched as her wrists flopped to the ground. There was nothing behind her eyes, so hauntingly enchanting to him the eyes of a killer, so devoid of humanity, more machine than woman. And so when he held his hand out to her, she did not take it, she did not move as if she’d forgotten how to do so. Joseph took her hand in his and it stirred a reaction in her, so minute he would have missed it were he not studying her face. The slightest twitch of her eyebrows, a quick expression of disgust that flattened into a neutral expression. Her head unnaturally turned towards him and he recognised the look of fear. She beheld him with an almost lovecraftian fear, so humble yet so grand was he, a prophet sent by God or a madman willing to destroy everything to be proven right. She could not decide for still she could not think beyond reactions to what was presently happening. The deputy lived now only in the present, unable to look introspectively at anything beyond five seconds prior to now.
The deputy stood now, with the guidance of Joseph, as he escorted her into what would become their dining room. “There is little but enough to sustain ourselves for seven years if we ration properly, fortunately the water filtration works just fine so we can shower and drink plenty,” he said with his soft southern drawl. Seven years. She would have seven years alone with the father, she wouldn’t be the same person she was now and it frightened her, the possibilities of what she may become. Joseph now noticed how the deputy could only function in the present, unable to think of the past or look into the future. “Rest now,” he told her, knowing that now more than ever, she needed his guidance. She was at least able to stand up on her own and return to the bedroom where she had originally been bound. In a somewhat robotic fashion, she removed her shoes and got into bed. Whilst she wanted to dream and to be convinced of another reality, she did not want to try to sleep, the more she was allowed to think, the more her brain seemed to melt. Joseph could hear her now laboured breathing as he walked back into the room. He was like her haunting rather than the guardian he no doubt saw himself as she thought. He sat at the edge of the bed, stroking her arm, only barred by the layers of bed covers between them. “When we’re in our garden, we’ll grow plenty of flowers, start a new flock, a peaceful people, strong people,” he mused, his head raised and eyes shut as he imagined his idyllic paradise. A sigh left his lips as he smiled at the thought, she supposed he tried to soothe her, he stopped rubbing her arm and rested his forearms on his knees. “What flowers would you like us to grow?” He aired softly, turning his head back to her, prying at her, digging out the humanity so long hidden in her body.
“I don’t see flowers,” she said flatly. She saw only death, bodies upon bodies, some righteous in death and others humanly cowardly. Death greeted everyone despite their feelings about it. She had been sending bodies to death, so long a courier that never met her recipient yet now wished to be taken into their loving embrace. It was her punishment to live. To live with the knowledge that her hands were stained red, so deep was the stain that not even the removal of her skin could clear the mark present only to her gaze. “There are no gardens left for flowers to grow Father, oh God,” she said, her words strangely strung, poetically describing the images of her mind that fluctuated between nothingness and reminders of why she could only function under nothingness. But Joseph was also pleased she so readily called him Father. The deputy did not speak or behave like herself, the stress bringing on a delirium in her that encouraged Joseph to stay and continue. She pulled her hands from under the covers to show him her bloody hands but he only saw her palms and the look of beginning madness in her eye.
“I wish you saw the peace of the future that will come but maybe what’s best right now is if you get some rest,” he said softly, taking her clean hands and hoping this feverish rambling from the once near mute deputy would cease and that she would find serenity in his promises and wisdom. The deputy got under the covers again and she was quietened by Joseph, he read from the bible so that she did not think whilst she tried to sleep. Joseph listened to her laboured breathing, could see her grind her teeth and furrow her brow, a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead and when sleep finally met her, she was corpse-like in appearance.
Joseph delicately closed his bible, placed it on the table behind and looked at her with a wild look in his eye, his child, his family killer and most hated. He loved her dearly and it cost him everything. His expression relaxed as his thoughts drifted to what he lost, not thinking of their killer though she was within his grasp. His brothers, his sister, so perfect, they were at rest, this was his only comfort, knowing they did not suffer through the years leading up to New Eden. The ache in his chest led to a tightening in his throat as he felt his saliva thicken and his eyes burn with all that was lost. God had always pushed him to the most extreme of tests, this was his final one, accept her, love her, forgive her and then, only then can there be heaven on earth. But what is heaven when you’re in Hell? It all seemed to mean so little in this moment as he looked at her again, trapped in a lonely hell not quite ready to accept the fact he would never see his family again. All the things he had planned for them were gone, it was not the loss of the hope of seeing them in New Eden but the confrontation that he would never know the feel of their hands in his, that he would with time forget what it felt like to hug them that frightened him most. A wave of fear rushed over him as he knew one day he would forget their voice. There was nothing left that had recorded it, all gone with God’s fury. The only tangible proof of their existence was a portrait on a pinboard that existed solely to aid in their killer's pursuit. The world would forget them, the only people alive with any memory of them resided in this very room. His family only existed in their memory now, among his many missions Joseph made note to write down more of his family so that they were not entirely forgotten with time like their voices would be. And whilst he thought of his, his eyes focussed on the restless deputy and all the emotions she stirred in him, most were unpleasant, some exceeded to the point of sin. He knew he could love her, after all that she’d done, he knew deep inside, it could be honestly forgiven, God never asked the impossible from him.
God had told him to open his heart to her and who was he but the Lord’s servant. So he raised a hand to her as her body thrashed suddenly in the midst of a violent dream whilst the tides of guilt and sin sunk deep into her bones, his holy hand gently touched her cheek and she stilled. Her breath still laboured and her face was still tight but her twitching stilled as The Father began to caress her cheek. She was cold to the touch and moist from sweat, God gave her sickness a physical manifestation. His thumb brushed back and forth, waiting for her face to soften, so beautiful when she submitted to him. Her laboured breaths became more like groans, those groans turned to cries and her face was splotchy with splashes red on her skin. The deputy abruptly woke and could only cry, it was beautiful, Joseph was pleased her pride had not consumed her to guiltlessness. It gave him hope. He stilled his caress and held her head as she turned her wet cheeks to his palms. “I’m sorry, for all of it, I’m so sorry, can you ever forgive me,” she whimpered against his skin. Joseph came closer to her and wiped her tears away with his thumbs.
“Yes,” he whispered with a raspiness to his voice and she cried more, it was not enough to free her of guilt but it was an overwhelming word. He quietly lulled her with shushes and caress to her cheeks. When she finally stilled, he moved to the bed, guiding her head to rest on his lap and she reached for him. As Joseph settled himself on the bed, she clung to him, arms outstretched to his waist as she felt it grossly improper and offensive to raise her gaze to him. The deputy rested her head on his thigh and Joseph gently moved her hair out the way so he could see her pretty face as she damped his clothes with the remainder of her sobs until again her energy faded to the point where she couldn’t cry any longer. Once again, exhaustion overcame her and he watched her sleep, quietly reciting an apt verse as he noticed the Lord’s words were of small comfort to her but a comfort nonetheless.
You couldn't refuse to take care of this man. You wanted to, you really did, but it would be a sin dirtying you for the rest of your life. You wanted him gone and out of your life, but it was your job to help. Your call. Maybe you would feel more compassion if he weren’t your father.
Your work lies long forgotten, while he, in his new health, seeks the doing of the Lord.
Then Joseph Seed appears to praise your effort and direct his people towards the light.
Towards the side where he is the shine.

English is not my first language.
“Angels came to me when I was dying, and they saved me because of the Lord's will. They nursed me, just like they did to old prophets.”
The man looked like all he could wake in a person was pity. That’s what you were sure of. He certainly made you full of pity — every second you glanced at him, all the time when he spoke. But the gathering crowd had a different approach. Women sobbed, not because they felt bad for him. They were ecstatic. Witnesses of true miracle in the form of a fragile, old man who’s been a victim of fatal burn injuries.
He was weak. He was weak since you’ve found him on the porch, bloody and almost fully lacking skin on his upper body. You knew that when this grotesque and tragic rally will end, he will again fall sick, and the fight for his life will begin again.
It’s been a long time — long enough that he analyzed his visions and came to conclusions. It was bullshit to you, but you stayed quiet for safety reasons. There were no angels, just you. You, alone and traumatized, peeling pounds and pounds of his dead body to prevent further necrosis and give him a chance to heal. You explained that to him when he was still too hurt to call for other people to hear. He gasped just because he still couldn’t yell, and he told you to regain control over your pride and arrogance. You never spoke of it again.
You were tired, sitting on the stairs, on the same porch he was crawling through not so very long ago. Your father was talking louder, with conviction, and he certainly was more burning up every second. You saw that, from his red face, he was losing his strength. Sadly – not his spirit.
The car pulled up close, and for a second you thought about grabbing the old man despite his rambling and getting him inside the house. He didn’t consider that, but you were afraid of what would be Joseph Seed's reaction. The Father was not a stupid man; someone like your pops couldn’t just take his place. They both knew that. You knew that, as well as the fact that your dad did not plan such a thing. He just spoke too much, and he accidentally just called himself a prophet. You didn’t want to think what Joseph — the real self-proclaimed prophet — will do to the likes just like himself.
People didn’t notice him at first. Bad sign, very bad. It was not about pride. Pride is a sin, and The Father atoned enough to not repeat his mistakes. He was watching his children indulge in the sea of words coming from a false God's savior. He noticed you when the talk from that man was too burdensome for him to endure. That’s where he saw a miracle. He was a great watcher. He took a look at your bleak face, bothered by so many emotions. From right where he stood, he wanted to take your hands — delicate yet bruised from work— into his large ones and show them to the crowd. He wanted them to look and see. To worship the God acting through people without forgetting about them. The old man was no special to him, which he could not say out loud — he didn’t deserve that. He should be able to enjoy the Father's mercy like everyone else, even if the leader heard of him only in unflattering words. He was known as a bad husband, a bad father, an aggressive neighbor and a brute. The second Joseph saw him and saw you, he was sure that such a man was indeed very blessed: with the fact that a daughter still stood at his side. He despised him, but he will have to say that he’s exceptional in God's eyes, just like all of them.
“Angel has come to his saving, that’s true,” he spoke unexpectedly. “But I see just one, and she will work her miracles on everyone who ask for help.”
The crowd whispered, making him place next to the man.
“Tell me,” he said, looking at him without the love he should have for his children. “thanks to whom, truly, you are well and healing today? Who was placed next to you by the good God, caring about his followers?”
He was stunned. Jerking his head up to look at Joseph, he opened his burned mouth a few times.
“I do not know, Father.” Whisper. Just a whisper. He had no bravery to speak about angels and prophets straight in Joseph Seed's face.
“You regained your sight, but you still are blind. You have experienced the grace, son; you are not wrong in that. Consumed by self-admiration, you fail to see the saint by your side. Your daughter, your only daughter left, is more chosen by the Lord than you are. He led her and strengthened her knowledge. She saved you.”
By the time, the man was crying. From love, adoration, maybe, but Joseph felt it was shame he felt, disgrace. That is what he was, humbled and disgraced by the Father in front of others.
He then looked at you, your dad long forgotten.
“And she will continue to do so, isn’t it the truth?”
For a while, you couldn’t find your voice. It trembled when you finally spoke, but you gained enough courage to stand up, still bowing your head.
“I will do my best. That I can promise.”
“That’s all I ask. The Lord will do the rest. Step closer, child.”
For some reason, you knew you were safe. After all, you’re not supposed to kill or hurt the angel you just discovered. Still, for a split second, all you wanted was to run. At the same time, something in Joseph lured you.
Your movement was slow, and he appreciated every single step you took. He opened his arms to calmly embrace you. He took your face in his hands, quickly turning to the people.
“Remember this day as the one when you found your long-awaited sister, endowed with abilities, who will look after you.”
“Sir-”
You shouldn’t call him that, but you were too stunned to think properly. He saw your trembling lip and scared sight. All he could do was caress your cheek with his thumb.
“I nursed my father to health because I had no other choice.” You finally spoke, loud enough only for him to hear. “If that is what you see, then the Lord must have acted through me, but I fear it will not happen again.”
“It’s not something that can disappear,” he assured. For a very short moment, you saw in his eyes something sane. He spoke of being chosen, but that’s not what he meant. He appreciated your skills like none ever did before. You were the kind of person he needed. People with missions and opportunities. “From now on, you will teach others what you know. There will be a hospital built, and you are in charge of educating the attendants the best you can. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Father.”
“Can you do that?”
How could you say no when he still held your face and looked at you, oh, so admiringly? That you didn’t know. You were unfamiliar with sympathy for many years now, and if he asked you to throw yourself into the fire, you would. Just because he saw you as more than a burden.
When your father was brutal and mean, the thought of his death was calming to you. You did not plan anything, of course, but he was aging badly, and it would come sooner or later. You hoped for that and then prayed, so you can be forgiven. Now, you dropped the hope. You were glad that he’s alive, even more glad that he had this accident and burned himself. Thanks to that, Joseph found you and gave you the purpose.
“I can do anything, with the help of good people,” you announced courageously.
“And the help of God.”
“God, leading the people. As you said.”
“As I said.”
He smiled, and the crowd cheered. Women were crying again, deeply moved.
Joseph Seed’s cult fell back in its rightful place, and this time he gained so much more than just power over the herd of lambs.
The one lamb he will not let anyone hurt stood proudly. He hated your father even more — how can he look and not admire such a girl?
When you first arrived in Hope County, you imagined it to be easy. Find the church, Arrest Joseph seed, and shut down his strange cult.
If only it happened that way, you should’ve known with how insane everything looked, not to mention how heavily armed and brainwashed his followers were, that it wouldn’t go smoothly.
The moment the helicopter took off, they began to attack it, and sure enough, the chopper went down somewhere in the thick forest of Montana. Each one of your partners were taken by one of the heralds, but somehow, you escaped- and being the person you were, you decided to save them all before saving yourself.
Upon meeting Dutch, he helped you form a resistance with all the survivors who refused to join the cult, and somehow you became the beacon of hope for the county.
You truly believed you were doing good, that you were saving people by enduring all this pain. Taking the bullets from Peggie’s, taking the torturous nights when you were captured by the three heralds, John, Jacob, and Faith- though that would never last long. You were always a good escapee.
So through it all, saving captives, tearing down cult operations and properties, liberating outposts, even killing Joseph’s Siblings, you felt like you were helping people.
And the final confrontation with Joseph? When you saved all your closest friends from his bliss induced trance’s, you didn’t have a doubt in your mind.
That was until Sherrie Whitehorse handed you the cuffs, your small form standing before Joseph as he towered over you, his blue eyes- one slightly swollen from the dark bruise forming, staring directly down at you as he quoted scripture.
But you pushed passed it, hands coming out to grasp his wrists, placing the cold cuffs on his.
“..Go your ways, and pour from the vials, the wrath of god upon the earth.” His voice was drowned out by the sudden ringing in your ears, your body being shoved toward the floor as the earth beneath you trembled- Your vision engulfed by a blinding white light..
And when it dissipated, you stood upright, eyes landing on the fiery balls that fell from the sky, and the trees that quickly began to burn.
“It is finished, Child.” Your eyes returned to Joseph’s as he spoke again.. your heart dropping into your stomach.
What have you done.
“He was right?!”
“Fuck!”
The others screamed, but you drowned out the sound, eyes scanning the fires that began to form not to far from here, the ground trembling with each impact.
“To the truck!-“ Whitehorse yelled, the others scrambling, Hudson taking Joseph by the shoulder and shoving him over, but the man never tore his eyes from your body. “Rook, Now!” The sheriff gave you a small push, enough to snap you out of all the feeling swirling deep within you.
You ran to the drivers side, shoving open the door and jumping in. Your hand fumbled with the key, the truck roaring to life, sounds of the engine mixing with Joseph’s hums and the panicked screams of your partners.
Foot slamming on the gas, you whipped the truck in a circle, quickly driving down the road as trees snapped over from being burned, dodging each one.
You couldn’t even focus as they all began to yell at each other in fear, your breathing was fast and your grip on the steering wheel tight as ever. You didn’t even have time to process everything that was happening, everything that you were feeling, your mind in a fogged shock.
You just knew you had to escape the bombs falling from the sky.
And the first few minutes were hard, but seemed almost effortless from another persons view as you dodged the falling debris..
That was until you made it to Dutch’s island, a large tree fell and blocked the entire road, nearly crushing you all in the process, that is if you didnt swerve in time. The truck flew off the side of the road, going over a ledge, and before the vehicle collided with the earth.. you sucked in a breath.
“I’m sorry.” You said loud enough that you could hear, and maybe Joseph, but the others were to busy screaming to hear anything but themselves.
The front of the truck hit the opening in between the trees, making your body surge forward, head smacking against the wheel. And everything after that faded in and out.
A few moments passed, and you looked around the car, everyone was unmoving, but Joseph was gone. You were just going to let yourself die there.. but your seatbelt came undone, two large hands grabbing you by the waist and pulling you out.
That damn tune.. Amazing grace, being the only thing you heard amongst the haze of your mind.
And when you came to again? You weren’t in the heat of the fires, the air was more clean. You blinked hard, forcing yourself to focus your vision.. and that’s when you realized you were chained to a cot by the very handcuffs you used on Joseph.
The cuffs clanked against the metal as you pulled hard a few times, no matter how hard you pulled, it didn’t budge. But in the moment, you couldn’t really think, so you didn’t care. Your mind was quiet, and all feeling was numb..
That was until your eyes scanned the room, landing on Dutch’s dead body only a foot or two away from you, bullet between the eyes. He was fucking dead..
You stare at his body, your heart hammering against your chest, before you even realized Joseph was standing by the wall, back turned toward you.
All the emotions you have yet to feel came crashing down all at once. The grief, the anger, the fear. Because of you so many people have died- hell, even when you were trying to help the resistance, innocent people would die in the crossfire.
You had blood on your hands of so many people who didn’t deserve it, When all you wanted to do was help.
Joseph seed was fucking right all along.
“You know what this means?” He turned to face you, your eyes landing on his bruised face. “It means politicians have been silenced. Means all the corporations have been erased.”
He stepped closer, blue eyes boring into yours, his body lowering to the floor to where he was only a few inches away. “But most of all.. it means I was right.” His face was so close to yours, but you couldn’t bring yourself to pull away. The inner turmoil you felt was blocking off all logical thinking.
“The collapse has come and the world as we know it.. is over.” He moved to sit back on the metal seat only a foot away from you, his feet right beside Dutch’s face.. oh he the sight only made you more nauseous.
You wanted to scream, to cry, anything. But you couldn’t. You felt like a murderer, like it was purely your fault that the world has fallen.
He went on with that southern drawl of his, talking about his family, how he prepared them for this moment, How they too, were dead because of you.
With all the realization and the feelings crashing into you like a tidal wave, you couldn’t pay attention to what he was saying, your eyes finally tearing away as you stared at the concrete floor, Refusing to look at him or Dutch’s body.
The moment those bombs collided with the earth, you felt something inside you snap. And now you were nothing but a husk, it’s crazy how fast something like that can happen. No thoughts registered in your mind, only the same few memories of your friends screaming, of the fiery balls hitting the earth, and even past events.. Like Eli’s death.
Everytime someone died by your hand. You thought you had been doing the right thing, but you were no better then Joseph Seed- well now you may even be worse considering he was right about it all.
“I should kill you for what you’ve done.” Joseph’s eyes scanned your face, watched the way you turned away. You looked nothing like the defiant deputy that tore down Eden’s gate with her bare hands.. you looked empty. That’d make it easier for him to get you to follow him into New Eden, he’d simply prey upon your vulnerability.
“But you’re all I have left..” the man leaned back in his chair, bare back hitting the cold metal behind him, but he didn’t flinch, his composure was eerily calm, like always. “You’re my family now.”
Then, silence. Joseph watched you as you sat weakly in your position, never moving, eyes just staring out mindlessly. This shell of what used to be such a stubborn and fierce girl was almost unnerving to him in a way he couldn’t explain. And what was worse for the both of you was Dutch’s rotting corpse being in the center of the room. It only fueled your grief filled trance.
The man stood from his chair, deciding it was best to dispose of the body discreetly all while being careful to not expose himself or the crisp bunker air of the nuclear gasses outside. So with a huff, he grabbed the corpse by his ankles, and drug him out of the room, leaving you sitting there alone.
Honestly it should be better that you were alone, But you couldn’t even think of that at this moment. Your ears rang ever so slightly, head spinning, body trembling from the amount of sheer shock and grief you felt for everything.
How long would the world be like this?
How many people died?
These were questions that couldn’t be answered because you were too stubborn to listen.
And now by some cruel chance, you were chosen to live, when you were going to allow yourself to die with everyone else in that crash. This was clearly some sick punishment from god, for all the things you did. For not listening to Jospeh when you had the chance..
You didn’t know how long Joseph had been gone by this point, you couldnt comprehend the time, the thoughts consuming you while no matter how hard you tried to silence them. But even as he came walking back into the room, your mind didn’t silence.
You wanted to maybe even beg god for it all to end, but even then you didn’t think he’d listen.
You were all alone- well not technically. But gosh did it feel like it.
Joseph stared at you from his position in the room, he disposed of Dutch within minutes, it wasn’t too laberous for him considering it wasn’t the first time he did something like that. And now he just watched you. Something deep down within him didn’t like seeing you this way, though another part told him you deserved it for what he did to his family.
But even then, he wanted you to look for him for guidance, for reassurance as the father- chosen prophet for the lord. And maybe he thought you may already see him that way, but really you were more scared, more revolted- maybe just in the moment but the feeling was still there.
With no words, he bent down before you again, hands making quick work of the cuffs, sliding the small key in the lock, which he must’ve got from your body while you were out, and quickly unhooked them from you. Your hands fell limply to the floor before you, not an ounce of strength trying to keep them up, you barely even had a reaction when his fingers brushed your skin.
His eyes scanned you a bit longer, thinking of how to go about this. “Come, my child.” He finally spoke up, large hand going down and grasping your forearm, not aggressively like you might’ve thought though. He helped you to your feet, hand sliding down into yours once you were fully up, and then began to guide you out of the room.
The moment his fingers laced with yours, your brows furrowed, showing a minuscule of emotion other than that hollow expression that’s been on your face ever since you woke up, he nearly missed it. It wasn’t anything good.. it was more disgust- like the feelings you had for him before figuring out he was right still lingered. But he could change that.
And with the state you were in, it wouldn’t take long.
