James Potter's Delivery Service being deleted and the author orphaning their ao3 account is am example of one of the worst things about fandoms and online communities. It goes to show that despite being a community with common passions we still don't care about each other. Bullying and harrassement are options. And especially now we assume and assume and leave no room for growth or change or learning despite what we preach. Go touch some grass.

JPDS was an excellent fic, well written and rich in character and world building, and Elijah (the author) is one of the most talented and brilliant writers of the Marauders. Such a shame.

If you're seeing this, I'm so sorry things turned out like this and I hope you find it in yourself to keep sharing your work. It's truly something else.

Headcanon

After reading fics like James Potter's Delivery Service for Runaway Blood Traitors (RIP, you will be missed), Runaway by @draconunquamdormiens, and the series The Black Sheep Dog by @izzythehutt I've formed a sort of headcanon?

I think that Sirius Black could have been one of the most important characters in history if things had gone slightly differently for him. If Orion Black had died earlier, if Sirius had taken advantage of the political and social power in front of him, he could have stood on his own two feet, head of the incredibly powerful Black family as was his right. According to fanon, anyway, he was charismatic and charming enough to win dark and light purebloods to his side, and he could have won against Voldemort if only he hadn't been so traumatized.

In my mind, because of AUs I've read, Sirius is someone who could have changed everything. He could have led the Wizarding World into a new age. And it breaks my heart to know what he really turned into, a husk of his previous self if we're being truly honest here. I'm about to read another fic by @draconunquamdormiens called Fixed Points in Time, a crossover with Doctor Who, and in my head I can already hear "Sirius Black? And James Potter? You two were the most influential people of the... but it hasn't happened yet. You're not supposed to know your own futures! Suffice it to say, it's a great, great honor to meet you both."
